Ladies Retirement Cards

Hello All!
I just got back from the Adventures in Stamping Convention where I bought a few new things but really behaved myself this year! LOL   I will be creating some fun things to share with you over the next  few days but today I wanted to share a couple retirement  cards for the ladies.

I recently won the challenge over at the Path of Positivity Blog where the prize was a gift voucher to the Imagine That! store.  I knew I was in need of a few 'ladies' retirement cards for an upcoming show so, keeping that in mind, two stamps sets I chose were GOLF SET and SHOPPING SANDY.

These sets are fabulous ... with time being short (show is this coming Wednesday), I was happy to see the set came with PRECOLORED images as well as those I can color myself later when I have more time.  The inside sentiment on both cards were computer generated.

I simply printed and fussy cut my images which saved me so much time!
Creating two fast & fabulous looking cards.

Okay that's it for me today!
Hope you're having a fabulous weekend!

Tutti Designs - Birthday Presents

Who doesn't like a stack of birthday presents on their special day?  LOL

Happy Sunday Dies R Us Friends!
Today I'm sharing a creation using a new March Release Birthday die that you will definitely need for your own!  I've also used another die that I find myself using over and over again ... the Nesting Stitched Rectangles.  Only a couple of the so many fabulous dies available at the Tutti Designs Store.

I've had this fabulous Birthday Present die cut from white card stock and sitting on my work table just waiting to be turned into a card and today's the day!

 No automatic alt text available.

Once again I have turned to my box of scrap papers to use.  I had a large scrap of this pink designer paper so decided to use it as my background as well as the 'wrapping' on my presents.  Since it is a double sided paper it worked perfectly.  Just a little fussy cutting and my presents are 'wrapped' and ready for giving!

Plus I popped it up on the green panel (which was cut using the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangles die set.  And, I also used the Tutti Designs 'Happy' and 'Birthday' dies for my sentiment.

A Truck Load of Birthday Wishes . . .

Hello Everyone!
WOW what a crazy busy week I am having ... but I'm also having fun
so it's okay!  LOL

Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you that was
inspired by a few challenges I noticed out in blogland.

The challenges I noticed are as follows:

Little Red Wagon Challenge #391 - Happy Birthday Boys!
Paper Shelter Challenge #291 - A Birthday Card
Inspiration Destination Challenge #127 - ATG w/optional twist/Masculine

Once again I am playing with my new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide
inks to create my backgrounds.  For the main focus panel I sponged on
the three colors then sprayed with water & heat set.
For my matting panel and base card, I simply sponged on
the coordinating colors.

I used dimensional tape between my focus panel
and the matting panel.  I also popped up the truck body.
Here's a peek at the inside of my card.

What boy/man doesn't like trucks?  LOL

Well that's it for me today!
Thanks for stopping by . . .
Hope you have a great weekend!

As always ...

Sisterhood of Crafters - B is for Butterfly

Hello Everyone!
Today begins a new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!
Terri is our hostess today and she's come up with the theme:

THE LETTER "B"
(use something that starts with the letter "B"
i.e.  Birds, Butterflies, Buttons, Branches)

I decided on BUTTERFLIES . . .

I've had several old packs of the DCWV  'Mariposa' designer paper
in my stash and thought that would be a good starting point.
This sheet even has a BIRD on it and I'm using the color BLUE
as my accent color.

The little butterflies scattered around are those that
popped out of this fun Memory Box 'Beloved Butterfly' die.

This is going to be a fun challenge ... I hope you'll come join us!

And, by all means, if you need inspiration, pop on
over to see what my Sistahs have created!  They are amazing!!

Retirement ...

Hello my friends and welcome back!
Can you believe we are in the last week of April already!
Wow!  Time sure flies when you're having fun!  LOL

I have a show coming up next week so I'm trying to go through my boxes of cards to be sure I have what the ladies might be looking for.

I think I have plenty of cards for birthdays, sympathy, get well, etc but thought I'd add in a few for retirement so here are a couple I came up with.  These are geared more towards the guys so I'll have to work on a few for the ladies!

I think a lot of men today find GOLF as one of their
most enjoyed retirement activities.
Personally, I'd be horrible at golf!  I've been on
the course ... only as a score keeper mind you ...
but have no idea how they keep track of where
that ball goes once they hit it!  LOL
I would spend most of my day looking for the ball
that is if I was able to hit it far enough
for it to get lost!  LOL

Another sport I know the men
in my family have always enjoyed
was hunting ... but, upon retirement
I think they enjoyed just sitting
in the cabin or going on nature walks
more than the hunting aspect.

For the background panel on this
card I simply sponged a few of the new
Tim Holtz distress oxide inks
in hopes of mimicking the color of the
fall leaves in the image.
I'm VERY happy with the outcome.

Now to think about those retirement cards for the ladies ... hmmm wonder what themes I should use?  Gardening maybe ... if you have ideas please feel free to share them in a comment.
Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
My friend Sandy will be here from NC this evening to spend the week with me so I'd better make sure I have my crafting cave in order ... she's a fabulous crafter and we will be crafting up a storm this week I'm sure!  What fun!!

As always . . .

Tutti Designs ... Easter Card for Far Away Friends

Hello Friends!
It's Tutti Design Time!
Today I'm  sharing a creation using a die from our January Release called Happy Easter.  I actually made this card a couple of weeks ago (obviously since Easter was last weekend, lol) to send to good friends of ours that live far away.    Why is it I'm the card maker but SHE is always the one to be sure to get her cards in the mail early and mine are always late?  Ugh!  LOL!    This is the beautiful die I'm talking about ...

Image may contain: 1 person

And here's my card creation . . .

I recently purchased the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and while I was playing around with them I thought the panel I had created would be beautiful for an Easter card.  Immediately I knew this Tutti Designs die would be perfect for the job!  And I'm thrilled with the outcome.

I wanted the Happy Easter sentiment to POP on my card front so needed to create a solid backing but didn't want to mat the entire circle ... I still wanted the matte Easter colors to show through the design.  So I simply took a scrap piece of purple card stock ... cut/glued it to the straight strips above & below the sentiment then lifted the left & right sides to trim away.  A little dab of glue on either end and it was ready to adorn my card front.

Once I had it positioned where I wanted on the card front, I added a few Nuvo Crystal drops here & there on the flowers, a purple gingham ribbon / bow and it's ready to mail.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.

A City Crafter Casing . . .

Hello my friends and Happy Weekend!

What a busy week I have had and I have another busy week next week!
I have one good friend from NC coming to visit with me all week and another awesome friend from ILL coming the end of the week for a few days.  The Adventures in Stamping is next weekend so we will all be attending and hopefully doing some amazing crafting with our goodies!  I can't wait ... going to be fun crafting with these friends again!

Anyways, I've shared so little on my blog this week that I wanted to create something new and share it with you today.  Last week I played in the 'casing' challenge over at City Crafter Challenge Blog when I created THIS fun card casing Ros's card.  Today I'm casing this sweet CAS card created by Stella.

City Crafters is celebrating their 7th anniversary and they are having a CASE ME IF YOU CAN challenge for seven weeks where you case one of the DT ladies cards.  Sadly I missed the very first casing challenge but I hope to do the rest of them.  I love being inspired by other crafters and this is an awesome way to get your mojo going.  Here's what I came up with.

Anyone who knows me knows I don't do a lot of CAS (clean and simple) designs.   I prefer more layers, embellishments, scenes ... that sort of style but I must admit every time I case someone's CAS design I'm always pleased with the outcome.

I pretty much stayed true to Stella's design with the exception of using a die cut sentiment which I double layered for a shadow effect.  In fact, while I was downloading my photo I realized Stella had a little star on her balloon so I quickly added a sequin and redid the photos.  I have a variety of baker's twine which I rarely think to use ... so this was yet another wonderful inspiration element to today's creation.

I sponged a little blue ink around the edge of the clouds to make them stand out a bit.  Also, I've added dimensional tape to the middle size cloud and balloon for added dimension.  What a fun creation this was to make ... thanks Stella!!

As I mentioned, I have guests coming so I'd better quit playing around and get my house in order lol!  After all, I will be busy having fun all next week so I'd best get my house cleaning done now ... Lord knows when that will happen again!!  LOL
(priorities ya know!)

Double D Challenge - Silhouettes

Hello Dear Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!

Team Darlene is hosting today and we've come up with a fabulous
theme and mood board.

The theme is:  SILHOUETTES

There are so many beautiful silhouette stamps and dies
on the market today and I think it makes for such an impact on a card.

Today I chose to use a new die I purchased at the Dies R Us Store called 'Reading Tree' from Die Versions.
 Die-Versions - Whispers - Reading Tree
As you may have noticed, I modified it a bit by cutting the 'book' out of the little boys hands to make it look as though he is just sitting under the tree 'thinking'.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge!  I look forward to seeing your creations!  If you are not aware, there are badges offered for a Favorite and Top 3 designs which are chosen by the team ... AND ... one random.org pick will receive a prize!  The prize I am offering for this challenge is the sweet Frantic Stamper 'Silhouette Kids' seen here:

You have to PLAY to WIN ... so what are you waiting for??

For more inspiration be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog and check out what the team has created!  These ladies are amazingly talented!!

Tutti Designs - Happy Birthday Circle

Happy Sunday Everyone!
and
HAPPY EASTER!

Today I'm sharing a creation using a new March Release Birthday die that you will definitely need for your own!  I've also used another die that I find myself using over and over again ... the Nesting Stitched Circle.  Only a couple of the so many fabulous dies available at the Tutti Designs Store.

The March Release die I'm referring to is this beautiful 'Happy Birthday Circle'.

No automatic alt text available.

How excited was I to find that the largest circle of the Tutti Designs
'Nesting Stitched Circle' dies fit perfectly for a matting panel.

No automatic alt text available.

I die cut my Happy Birthday Circle from white card stock
then decided to color in the vines using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

As you can see ... I also decided to give the tulips some color
so I once again reached for my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
I've used some very old Basicgrey design paper called 'sugared' for my
background and positioned my pretty Really Reasonable pink
ribbon in gift wrapped fashion and added a bow.

Since I had a narrow strip of the design paper left over,
it's always fun to use it on the inside of your card as I have done here.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.
