Brightcaps are rare Mushrooms found in dark environments such as Caves and Wells.[1][2] They contain luminescent enzymes that, when Cooked, create Food that causes Link to faintly Glow.[1][2] Brightcaps can be roasted in Fire or Scorching Climates to create Toasty Brightcaps. As they are an important part of Well ecosystems, they are of interest to enthusiasts on the subject.[3] They are sold at the Spore Store in Korok Forest.

When Fused to Weapons, they impart Bouncy properties to them, causing struck Enemies to be launched back. Fired Arrows with Brightcaps attached to them provide the same effect. When Enemies strike a Shield with a Brightcap Fused to it, they will also be launched back.

Brightcaps, among other Mushrooms, can be used in a Cooking Pot to make the following Meals:

  2. 2.0 2.1 Have you ever seen glowing cave fish flitting about in cave pools? How about brightcap mushrooms? Both are rare organisms found only in caves and wells. Though I suppose their rarity is less important than their glowiness. If you cook and eat either one of them, they'll make your body glow! Isn't that neat? It's just a slight glow and not very useful for everyday life, but it could be handy for exploring caves! — Savrey (Tears of the Kingdom)
