What are metals:
• Metals are mostly hard
substances that are
differentiated by their height
electrical and thermal
conductivity, and their
malleability, ductility, and
high reflection of light.
There is 95 metals in the
periodic table.
Properties of
most metals:
• Metals have a lot of properties that they mostly
share :
• Most metals are ductile
• Most Metals are good conductors of heat.
• Most Metals are good conductors of electricity.
• Most Metals are hard.
• Most Metals have a shiny appearance
• Most Metals are malleable
• There is only 1 metal that is liquid at room
temperature.
• Most metals are strong.
• They have high melting points.

Reactions of metals with
oxygen:
• When a metal reacts with oxygen then their
would be a metal oxide.
• An example of a metal oxide is rust where iron
reacts with oxygen in air and creates rusts on the
iron that turns the rust in a semi orange color.
• Metals combine with oxygen to form
metal oxide.
• Metal + Oxygen -> Metal oxide
• Example: Copper plus oxygen is
copper oxide.
