Day 1 – Diesel Engine

Training Objectives:
At the end of the session, the trainee must be
able to:

Understand the most components essential functions


of the engines.
Understand how the systems and related systems
work.
Locate, recognize, and identify all essential
components within the systems
Execute the daily, weekly and monthly inspections
and maintenance routines based on manufacturer
manual and planned maintenance system existing on
board.
Simulate system operations with the use of CBT.
Day 2 – Boilers
Training objectives:
At the end of the session, trainee must be
able to:

 Understand the types and constructions of marine


Boilers used on board.
 Understand how its system and related systems
operate.
 Locate, recognize and identify all the essential
components, attachments and fittings within the
system involved.
 Execute the daily, weekly and monthly inspections
and maintenance routines based on the manufacturer
manual and planned maintenance system existing on
board.
 Simulate systems operation with the use of CBT video
Day 3 – Pumps/Air Compressor
Pumps
Training Objectives:
At the end of the session, the trainee must be
able to:
 Understand the types and constructions of pumps used
on board.
 Understand how its system and related systems
operate.
 Locate, recognize and identify all the essential
components and accessories and fittings within the
system involved
 Execute the daily, weekly and monthly inspections and
maintenance routines based on the manufacturer
manual and planned maintenance system existing on
board
 Simulate systems operation with the use of CBT video
Air Compressors
Training Objectives:

At the end of the session, the trainee must be able to:


 Understand the types and constructions of Air
compressor used on board.
 Understand how its system and related systems
operate.
 Locate, recognize and identify all the essential
components and accessories and fittings within the
system involved

Day 4 – Heat Exchangers/Steering Gear

Day 5 – Refrigeration/Fuels and Combustion

constructions, and accessories of refrigeration system
 Understand how its system and related systems
operate
 Locate, recognize and identify all the essential
components, accessories and fittings within the system
involved
 Execute the daily, weekly and monthly inspections and
maintenance routines based on manufacturer manual
and planned maintenance system existing on board
 Simulate system operation with the use of CBT video
Steering Gear
Training Objectives:
At the end of the session, the trainee must be able to:
 Understand the types and constructions of steering
gear used on board
 Understand how its system and related systems
operate
 Locate, recognize and identify all the essential
components, accessories, and fittings within the system
involved
 Execute the daily, weekly and monthly inspections and
maintenance routines base on manufacturer manual
and planned maintenance system existing on board
 Simulate systems operation with the use of CBT video
Fuels and Combustion
Training Objectives:
At the end of the session, trainee must be
able to:
 Understand the significance of attaining good fuel
and combustion for diesel engine and boiler
operation on board
 Understand the value of attaining good fuel
properties for diesel engine and boiler operation on
board
 Identify the determining factors affecting combustion
process
 Monitor, analyze and assess fuel combustion
efficiency related to engine performance and
capacity
 Simulate systems operation with the use of CBT
video
