‘Fact or Fib’ Game

 How this game works:

 I will ask the students a question.

 The students will answer the question by

simply holding up their blue ‘Fact’ flash
card if they believe the question is true.
Or the students will hold up their red
‘Fib’ card if the students believe the
question is false.
Question: This is the central axis of a cylinder at an angle.
Question: This is the major axis of an ellipse
Question: This is the major axis of an ellipse
Question: There is two minor axis in a cylinder at an angle
Question: There are two separate cylinders to be drawn at angles for this sketch.
Question: To complete this freehand sketch we need to draw three central axis
lines.
Mr. Quirke
Sketching Cylinders:

A cylinder is simply two ellipses that are joined together.

1. Begin by drawing the central axis for the cylinder at an

angle and construct the major axes for the first ellipse
perpendicular to that.
2. Using the ghosting technique shown previously, draw
in the top cylinder.
3. Draw the edges of the cylinder parallel to the central
axis.
4. Draw in the major and minor axes for the base ellipse.
Try to keep these the same dimensions as the top
ellipse.
5. Draw in the base ellipse and darken in the final shape.
