Developing Language Skill
Naya, welcome back to An-Nur again. You have been away for nearly three months, and
masha Allah how much you have grown! You became more confident. You love to explore our
learning environment and involve your self more challenging activities. It was amazing to
observe you today when we were playing in the playground enjoying using the monkey bar
and interacting with your friends.
I was happy to hear you communicating with your friends, masha Allah your language skills
developing fast. I am pleased to hear you using clear sentences, for instance ‘help me’, ‘I am a
monkey’ etc. Later when you were playing inside with doctors kit, you said, “ I am a doctor,”
and then you gave something to one of your friend saying, “ This one for you.” That was great
communication Naya!
Naya, you are a very curious learner, you enjoy exploring all of the different learning
experiences alongside your friends using your wonderful social skills. You are very
independent and enjoy doing things for yourself, your ability to communicate with others is
amazing. You are learning English very well beside your own language Arabic. Now maha Allah
you are speaking in both language. Your vocabulary increasing rapidly. Ka pai Naya!
Naya, these tells me that you are very comfortable around our learning environment and have
plenty of opportunities to independently choose your activities, you are capable of articulate
your needs, able to express your emotion. You are developing your language skills and you do
involve in communicating with others.
Naya, In sha Allah we will support your language development by talking to you one to one,
respond to you when you communicating. Also ensure to provide plenty of opportunities where
you could initiate and interact with others eg. small group activities, language related activities.
Te Whariki Learning outcome: “Over time and guidance children became increasingly capable
of expressing their feelings and ideas using a wide range of materials and modes”
