AMINES?
Amines are organic derivatives of ammnonia
(NH3).

TERTIARY AMINES
GENERAL
STRUCTURE OF
Tertiary amines are amines TERTIARY AMINE
containing three alkyl or aryl
group attached to the nitrogen
atom.
TRIMETHYLAMINE
Aliphatic amine in which nitrogen is bonded only to
alkyl (R) groups.
AMINES AND Like aliphatic amines, aromatic amines are also classified into three
classes i.e. Primary amines (ArNH2), Secondary amines (ArNHR),
ALIPHATIC and Tertiary amines (ArNR2)
AMINES
An amine in which the nitrogen atom is part of a
ring is classified as a heterocyclic amine. When
the nitrogen is part of an aromatic ring (Section
9.2), the amine is classified as a heterocyclic
aromatic amine.
