Total cash compensation: INR 13,28,879 – 17,71,839 gross annually

The Role
This Mumbai-based role offers the opportunity to join Austrade South Asia’s Investment team.
We work with senior executives of Indian corporations to grow productive foreign direct
investment (FDI) in Australia.
We seek a new team member with commercial nous, who can critically analyse information
and is able to liaise and build networks of senior contacts within Indian business.
The key purpose of the role is to be a ‘scout’ for the team; to analyse information and identify
reasons for engaging with companies; to assist build compelling reasons for them to invest in
Australia. We aim to build a stronger pipeline of prospective investors and achieve bigger
investment outcomes of strategic importance for Australia. Sectors we target include
Resources, Energy, Technology, Health, Defence and Space. A knowledge of investment
related issues within one or more of these sectors would be valuable.
You will work with a highly experienced locally engaged team, supported by sector specialists
in Australia. You can expect to engage with some of India’s largest organisations as we
support their investment ambitions and investment pathway in Australia.
Our ideal candidate will be a genuine team player, who can and enjoys working with
autonomy, and who can quickly develop into the role to influence how and where we focus.
We are looking for someone with a flair for quick research, spotting strategic opportunities,
and ability to communicate / present these in written and verbal form. Excellent skills in using
tools like Excel, PowerPoint and Word is a must.

Duties include:
• Under guidance, analyse business information and provide reports to the team
• Build business and stakeholder networks
• Contribute to the development and delivery of strategies that generate awareness of
investment opportunities in Australian for Indian business
• Collaborate with a broader team in India and Australia to activate investor engagement
• Develop and share high quality written insights with clients and stakeholders on commercial
trends that impact Indian investors

• As part of a team, contribute toward the achievement of the business plan and activities
that achieve Austrade’s objectives in South Asia

Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:

1. University degree in business-related studies


2. Excellent verbal and written English skills of standard needed to engage at
CEO levels of Australian businesses
3. Minimum of 3 years post-university degree work experience within an
international organisation

• Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in India, candidates


must be legally authorised to live and work in India at the time of appointment.
• Security Clearance - the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level
Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior
to commencement in the role.

What you’ll need to be successful


• Applications will be considered if you possess and can demonstrate:
• University degree qualifications in business studies and at least 4 years’ experience in an
international business setting, with a preference for being closely aligned to the core
sectoral focus of this role
• Excellent verbal and written English skills
• Knowledge of the big trends within India’s corporate and digital innovation ecosystem, and
who some of the key organisations and influencers are
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including negotiation, influencing and
representation skills)
• Strong customer service ethos and skills. A self-starter that can recognise and progress
opportunities by creating meaningful links and connections
• Stakeholder engagement experience, with the ability to develop rapport, partnerships and
support advocacy
• Project management capabilities, with the ability to work on multiple projects
• Understanding of inclusiveness and what it means in the workplace
• A strong ‘Can Do” attitude.
