Mentor-Mentee Cell
About:
Mentor- Mentee Cell (Formerly known as Tutor-Ward Cell) is founded by Law Department in FS
UNIVERSITY a vision to extend support and guidance to the students studying in the University for
the betterment of their academic and professional career and thereby contribute towards nation
building. It is very effective system that is aimed to narrow down the gap between the mentee and the
mentor and thereby the society in general. The students may come across difficulties during the degree
programmes and have to face academic and adjustment challenges. To cope up with such problems and
to enable them to excel in academics and profession as per their potential, a Mentor- Mentee
programme for the students of the institution has been developed.

We are providing counselling to the students through personal attention and regular dialogues during
their stay on campus, on telephone. We have been providing them tips on studies personal counselling,
guidance regarding career choices, to get success in the university examinations. We have also been
supporting the mentees in the form of precise content on courses, fees, reviews, University admission
process and scholarships etc. The scheme has become very successful in bridging the gap between the
teacher and the student. It has become instrumental in blending the harmonious relationship between
the learner and his/her family and the institution at large. It has definitely created an atmosphere of
conviction and faith about the alma mater. Consequently, every year the enrolment ratio of girl-
students from all sections of society has been rapidly increasing.

We aim that all students get rightly educated and take the right step towards building their career

Aims and Objectives:

 To connect mentors and mentees effectively.


 To enhance students' academic performance and quality.
 To address issues that contribute to students' holistic development.
 To foster a supportive and conducive learning environment.
 To inspire and motivate students toward higher studies and competitive exams. To address
stress-related concerns.
 To oversee academic engagement and evaluate outcomes.

Programme Details:

 Mentees will be assigned to mentors from the first year of the program.
 A mentor will oversee no more than 30 mentees at any given time.
 Preferably, the same mentor will guide the mentees throughout the entire duration of the
program.
 The mentor will meet regularly with mentees and document the outcomes of these meetings.
Each mentee’s details will be recorded and updated periodically.
 The mentor will identify students excelling in curricular or co-curricular activities and report to
the head of the institution/department to provide further support for advanced or gifted learners.
 For students whose performance or attendance is below expectations, the mentor will engage
with the student to determine the cause and take corrective measures. If necessary, the mentor
may involve parents and the head of the department to address the issue.

Responsibilities of the Mentor include:

 Attendance: Monitoring mentees' attendance, advising them, and taking appropriate follow-up
actions for those not meeting the college's attendance norms.
 Academic Performance: Tracking academic progress, including continuous assessments and
exams, and offering counselling or arranging remedial teaching if required.
 Behavioural and Discipline Issues: Addressing any conduct or discipline concerns.
 d. Health and Well-being: Ensuring the mentee's physical and mental health is maintained.
 Achievements and Talents: Recognizing and encouraging involvement in co-curricular
activities.
 Stress Management: Providing support for stress-related issues.

Responsibilities of the Mentee include:

 Attend meetings consistently.


 Complete the personal information form when joining the mentor-mentee system.
 Share details of attendance, continuous assessments, term-end exams, and co-curricular or
extracurricular activities with the mentor as requested.
 Trust the mentor and seek their guidance whenever needed.
