MODIFICATION CLASSIFICATION
MAJOR None
MINOR 115285L83019
NOTE: As per EASA IR 21, a minor change is one that has no appreciable effect on the
mass, balance, structural strength, reliability, operational characteristics affecting
the airworthiness of the product. All other changes are major changes.
NOTE: This modification is related to an airworthiness issue and has been re-classified and
confirmed by EASA as minor in accordance with EU Part 21.A.91. As such, this is
handled by Airbus under the Design Organisation Approval ref. EASA.21J.031.
B. REASON
(1) History
During engineering and manufacturing review, an interference was discovered
between the installed nut and the foot radius of Frame (FR) 96, between Stringer
6 and Stringer 7, Right Hand (RH) side. It is identified that the minimum distance
requirements for nut installation are not fulfilled. Some damage has been detected in
the production line after the affected nut removal at FR 96 foot radius area.
The potential damage at FR radius area generates a risk of fatigue life reduction
at long term with potential impact on scheduled maintenance program. Therefore
corrective actions have been launched on the affected in-service fleet.
(2) Objective/Action
This Service Bulletin provides the necessary instructions to remove the affected
fastener and install the nut with an adapted aluminum washer.
(3) Advantages
Accomplishment of this Service Bulletin will contribute to maintain the structural
integrity at the affected section.
(4) Operational/Maintenance Consequences

(1) Modification
(a) Task set A350-A-53-XX-P058-01000-93AA-A Modification
1 Remove the Fasteners at FR96, RH Side
2 Install the Fasteners at FR96, RH Side
E. COMPLIANCE
(1) Classification
MANDATORY: Service Bulletin must be accomplished.
(2) Accomplishment Timescale
Accomplishment of this Service Bulletin must be done before 7300 Flight Cycles (FC)
or 36500 Flight Hours (FH) from A/C transfer of title whichever occurs first.
This Service Bulletin has been classified Mandatory. It is expected that an
Airworthiness Directive (AD) published by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency
(EASA) will be issued to confirm this classification. It is anticipated that the AD will
confirm the threshold given but reference should be made to the AD for confirmation
of the mandated accomplishment timescale.
F. APPROVAL
The technical content of this document is approved under the authority of the Design
Organisation Approval ref. EASA.21J.031.
If an aircraft listed in the applicability has a modification or repair embodied that is not
of AIRBUS origin, and which affects the content of this Service Bulletin, the operator
is responsible for obtaining approval by its airworthiness authority for any adaptation
necessary before incorporation of the Service Bulletin.
G. MANPOWER
The manpower estimates given in this Service Bulletin are based on the direct labor cost to
do the work. These estimates assume that the work will be done by experienced personnel,
and may need to be revised upwards to suit operator’s circumstances. The estimates do not
include the time to prepare, plan or inspect the work. Manufacture and procurement of parts
and tools, drying times for paints, sealants, etc., and general administration work are also
not included.
