Procedure
NOTE: The items given in this note shall be considered asthe basic Aircraft
configuration before you start a maintenance task:
- Aircraft on the ground resting on landing gear (the groundsafety locks
and the wheel chocks are in position on the landing gear)
- Engine shut down, thrust reversers closed and locked
- Aircraft in clean configuration
- Parking brake applied
- Aircraft electrical network de-energized
- Hydraulic systems depressurized
- Access to the cockpit and cabin is available
- All circuit breakers are in closed position
- All controls in NORM, AUTO or OFF position.
(a) Make sure that the aircraft is electrically grounded, referto Ref. AMM Task 12-34-
24-869-002.
(b) Do the job set-up procedure as specified in the removal of theAudio
Management Unit (AMU), refer to Ref. AMM Task 23-51-34-000-001.
(c) Open the avionics compartment door Door 824, refer to Ref. AMM Task 52-41-00-
010-002 and Ref. AMM 06-41-53, Page Block 001.
(d) Open the FWD cargo-compartment door Door 825, refer to Ref. AMM Task 52-30-
00-860-001 or Ref. AMM Task 52-30-00-860-003 or Ref. AMM Task 52-30-00-860-
005.
(e) In the FWD cargo compartment, remove the partition panels Panel 131DW and
Panel 131CW, referto Ref. AMM Task 25-54-11-000-001 and Ref. AMM 06-41-53,
Page Block 001.
(f) In the aft utility area, remove the ceiling panel Panel 262CC, refer to Ref. AMM
Task 25-23-42-000-002.
(g) Open, safety/lock and tag this (these) circuit breaker(s):

operator's issue, do these steps:
1 Job Set-up:
a Energize the aircraft electrical circuits, refer to Ref. AMM Task 24-41-
00-861-002.
b Make sure that the annunciator lights on the front panel of the
transceiver do not come on.
c On the RMPs, set the ON/OFF selector switch to ON.
d On one MCDU, get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST COM menu page, refer
to Ref. AMM Task 31-32-00-860-003.
e Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) closed:
NOTE: This test is for the system 1. For the other system(s), use the
indications between the parentheses.
ACTION RESULT
1.On the MCDU, on the COM menu page: On the MCDU:
- Push the line key adjacent to the - The HF-1(2) page comes into view.

1 Job Set-up:
a Energize the aircraft electrical circuits, refer to Ref. AMM Task 24-41-
00-861-002.
b On the face of the transceiver, make sure that no lights are on.
c Connect a BOOMSET 600 OHMS to the jack panel at all the crew
stations.
d Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) closed:
WARNING: OBEY THE RADIO REGULATIONS AND MAKE SURE THAT THE
FREQUENCY IS AVAILABLE BEFORE YOU TRANSMIT.
2 Procedure:
a Operational Test of the HF System:
NOTE: This test is for the system 1. For the other system(s), use the
indications between the parentheses.
