For any a positive integer n.

n can be expressed as n  p1a1  p2a2  p3a3  pkak
where p1 , p2 , p3 , , pk are distinct prime numbers
and a1, a2 , a3 , , ak are positive integers.

Define (n)  The number of positive divisor of n.

and (n)  The sum of all positive divisor of n.
It can be determined by using the following formula
(n)  (a1  1)(a2  1)( a3  1)  (ak  1)
p1 1 1  1 p2a2  1  1 p3a3  1  1 pkak  1  1

and (n)    

p1  1 p2  1 p3  1 pk  1
 is called tau function and  is called sigma function.
For example, n  12  22  3 , the positive divisor of n are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12.
We have (12)  (2  1)(1  1)  6
