Emyr grew up in a poor rural farming village. Even


as a small child, he showed innate arcane talent.
Whether due to this or an ill stroke of fate, when
still a youngling, Emyr was lured by a Will-o’-Wisp
into the forest near his home. He reappeared after
what seemed a fleeting moment to the child, but
on returning home found the world changed and
his parents already grown old.

Distraught, his parents beseeched a wandering


wizard to inspect him. The wizard, a renowned
traveling diviner, perceived that Emyr had been
lured into a temporary Fey crossing and after
returning from the Feywild, had been affected by a
time warp. Emyr remembered nothing of his time
in the Feywild. The wizard also determined that
the child was Fey Touched and imbued with
magical powers.

Reluctantly, but knowing that they could no longer


care for the child, Emyr's parents agreed to give
him up to the Alabaster Lyceum arcane college in
Tal'Dorei. Emyr was raised by wizards at the
Lyceum. The arcane scholars helped him hone
his natural abilities, but they could not temper his
rebellious nature and chaotic spirit.

Embracing this Fey affinity, Emyr was drawn to


studying divination, enchantment, and illusion.
Although a precocious talent, Emyr clashed
frequently with the Lyceum establishment. He
grew to despise its political influence and
questionable links to Tal'Dorei high society. As he
grew into maturity, he felt trapped in the cloistered
confines of the college, longing to be nearer to
nature and explore the world around him.

On coming of age, Emyr resolved to leave the


Lyceum, intent on developing his wizarding
knowledge through adventuring. Still traumatized
by how cruelly fate had treated him, Emyr
obsessed over rediscovering his forgotten past
and finding the reason why the Fey had chosen
him.
