Vortec™ Engines: Uncompromised Power
Vortec Engines are GM Powertrain's premier engine line for trucks and
SUVs. Motorsport events and on-the-job performance have proven
that Vortec Engines deliver outstanding power with no sacrifice in fuel
efficiency.
Equally important to industrial users is the fact that Vortec Engines
are designed to require very little maintenance while providing
extraordinary reliability.

The exhaust valve seat inserts in the cylinder

head provide superb durability.

Roller valve lifters reduce friction and improve performance.

A high-flow cylinder head with

straighter intake ports and a
higher compression ratio
delivers significantly better
2003

combustion for all fuels.
