NOTE: Specifications are affected by the condition of the vehicle and how it is equipped, as well as the nature and condition of the operating area. If these specifications are critical, the proposed application should be discussed with your dealer. Load capacity depends on choice of model, tyres & spreader engagement system (see mast table). Dimension is height to top of attachment/container Width over the attachment 6 100 mm Including 10% Operator clearance Gradeability figures (lines 5.7 & 5.8) are provided for comparison of tractive performance, but are not intended to endorse the operation of the vehicle on the stated inclines. Follow instructions in the operating manual operation on inclines consult your Hyster lift truck dealer. Noise level based on the weighting values contained in EN12053 Noise level measured according to 2000/14/EC directive Consult your Hyster lift truck dealer Tables key: All specifications and capacities quoted in the mast and capacity information tables are valid for trucks equipped with a Hyster empty container handling attachment and for handling ISO containers, which are 8' wide and 8'6"-9'6" high. Single container is with the following engagement systems: Horizontal twistlocks, Vertical twistlocks, Suspended hooks. Double containers is with Double Horizontal twistlocks only. r1 = radius of swing of container rear corner r2 = radius of swing of container front corner Wa = outside turning radius of the truck a = total operating clearance, a/2 is operating clearance at each side a = 10% of V V = (theoretical) 90 stacking aisle width, no intrusive stacking = r2 + the larger of r1 or Wa Ast = (practical) 90 stacking aisle, no intrusive stacking and with clearance = V + a = V + 10% 14,00 x 24 bias and 14,00R24 radial tyres are only available ex. factory and cannot be (retro) fitted in the field as modification of front fenders & rear counterweight fenders is required. With 14,00 x 24 tyres it is not possible to lift 8' high containers. Please consult Hyster before offering 14,00 x 24 radial tyres For reason of heat build-up, use of 12,00 x 24 SOLID tyres is limited to single shift -or low to medium distance (< 200 m) applications. With solid tyres, the fitment of a hydraulic accumulator is mandatory

Masts Ultra-wide mast construction, for torsional rigidity and also excellent visibility (distance 1 260 mm in between the inner mast channels). This stable and ultra-wide 'Vista' 2-stage mast has a unique '1 to 4 ' lift ratio. With very high lift heights, as on these trucks, the Hyster '1 to 4' design results in halving the length of the lift cylinders, thereby offering excellent durability of the cylinder bearings and seals. The tilt cylinders are high-mounted on the mast for added stability. Transmission ZF 3WG-201, 3-speed 'countershaft' powershift transmission with automatic gear shifting system and a forward-reverse shifting lock-out protection, large oil cooler and a 10 micron oil filter. Brakes Service brake: Front, wet disc brakes with large oil cooler and a separate 10 micron oil filter. The brake system is fully hydraulic and charged by an accumulator (no air system). Parking brake: Spring actuated and hydraulically released, on the drive-line, automatically applied when pressure falls below 50 bar. The transmission is disengaged when parking brake is applied. Hydraulic system Tandem gear pumps with 260 l/min. output at full rated load. A load-sensing priority valve diverts only the required amount of oil for steering; the remaining oil joins the lift flow. Power-assisted hand controls use a separate pilot pump supply. Two full-time, full flow, 25 micron, return-line hydraulic filters are easily accessible in the hydraulic tank. Equipped with 3 auxiliary hydraulic functions for sideshift, 20'-40' extension and engagement of the spreader. Electrical system 24 Volt, 50 Amp alternator, dustproof starter, battery master switch.
Wheels The following tyre sizes are available (see also Mast table): 12,00 x 24, 12,00R24, 48.5-14,00 x 24 or 14,00 x 24 or 14,00R24. A hydraulic accumulator on the hoist system is available from Hyster, which cushions shocks caused by vertical movement of spreader and container(s) and is recommended for trucks fitted with pneumatic tyres. A hydraulic accumulator is mandatory for a truck with solid (pneumatic shaped) tyres. Lights A complete light kit is fitted: 4 front working lights and 2 rear working lights mounted on the cab, 2 head lights on the front fenders, 4 direction indicator lights, 2 tail and stop lights, and 2 reversing lights. Orange flashing beacon mounted on the cab. The 2 floodlights mounted directly on the spreader form a practical addition to the comprehensive lights group on the machine. Instruments/accessories: Warning lights Engine oil pressure, transmission oil pressure, transmission oil temperature, battery discharge indicator, low brake oil pressure, parking brake on. Gauges Engine coolant temperature, fuel, transmission oil pressure, transmission oil temperature, voltmeter, engine oil pressure. Other indicators: Hour meter, low brake pressure buzzer, combination key-type ignition/starter switch with starter lock out, reverse warning alarm. Options Air-conditioning in the cab Three types of container engagement systems Various types and sizes of pneumatic and solid (pneumatic shaped) tyres Hydraulic accumulator shock absorber (mandatory for machine on solid tyres) Spare wheel Special paint colour (black parts remaining black)
Warning Care must be exercised when handling elevated loads. When the carriage and/or load is elevated, truck stability is reduced. It is important that mast tilt in either direction be kept to a minimum when loads are elevated. Operators must be trained and adhere to the instructions contained in the Operating Manual.

Empty container handlers, 8 000 - 9 000 kg @ 1 220 mm
Improved design The H16.00-18.00XM-12EC series benefits from Hyster's long experience in providing materials handling solutions. These models offer fast handling, low running costs, excellent return on investment and increased flexibility, thanks to the latest Hyster empty container handling spreader, featuring a choice of three different engagement systems Strength and durability The Meritor ultra-wide (4 000 mm over tyres) drive axle provides stability and durability; whilst the wet disc brakes reduce maintenance requirements. The Hyster 'sandwich' type steer axle with its single steering cylinder and non-adjustable tie rods is renowned for long life and low maintenance. The ZF powershift transmission has automatic gear shifting and protective forward-reverse shifting lock-out. Large 24" wheels on all models offer long tyre life. Clean power The Cummins QSB 5.9 diesel engine has low exhaust emissions conforming to ISO 8178 and EU Tier 2 emissions standards for NRMM (Non-Road Mobile Machinery). Its industrial rating offers extra durability for long periods of peak power operation. A 'waste gate' turbocharger produces a smooth torque curve, with a maximum of 847 Nm @ 1 300-1 500 rpm, providing excellent acceleration and lugging power combined with low fuel consumption. The engine also features a tropical cooling radiator and 'puller' type fan. The two-stage heavy-duty engine air filter, with cyclonic pre-cleaner, is suited to dusty operating environments. Ergonomic design The comprehensively equipped operator's cab is mounted on isolators, achieving low noise levels. A filter on the fresh air inlet, interior circulation fan and a fully adjustable, full suspension seat with armrests & high backrest are only some of the features, which enhance operator comfort. Equipment also includes finger-light steering, power-assisted hand controls and conveniently positioned instruments, including a push-button parking brake. Responsive, fully hydraulic brakes and automotive type pedal layout further contribute to driver comfort. High performance hydraulics A unique Hyster, fully automatic, two-stage lift system offers very high lift speeds, when either laden or unladen, by making maximum use of the available engine power at different engine speeds - an important characteristic for high stacking ECH machines. Visibility Operator visibility during high stacking from the rear-mounted cab is excellent, thanks to the glass-to-glass joints of the slimline cab construction, wipers on the front, top and rear screens (double at the front) and the ultra-wide Hyster 'Vista' mast with unique rearward mounted cylinders.
