Combifilter Control

2006-11-23
for Unikat Combifilter model S

The Combifilter Control measures the temperature in the filter and adjusts the heat to the preset
temperature. When regeneration is ready (acc. to the preset time) the Combifilter Control shuts off
the heating elements. The Combifilter Control can light a signal lamp when the operation time
exceeds preset time. An internal alarm is also logged if the regeneration is interrupted before
completed (30 min. with exhaust temperature >600 °C on the thermocouple without interruption) or
if the operation time is exceeded. The number of alarms can be checked on the display.

The memory is supplied with a battery backup which lasts for two years.

Connections

24: 230 VAC to signal lamp when regeneration 15: 12 VDC from battery via ignition key
is ready 16: 12 VDC or 24 VDC to the signal lamp
25: 230 VAC to air pump during regeneration which indicates when it is time to regenerate
and 20 minutes after regeneration is ready (acc. to the preset time of operation)

When 230 VAC is connected to the Combifilter Control the display lights up and regeneration starts. The
display shows the time left until regeneration is completed (normal setting).

If you push the button "ENTER" you can step through 11 different menus. When you stop at one menu the
display changes after 2 seconds to choosen menu. After 10 seconds the unit returns to normal position.

Menu Shows +/- following action Conceivable values Preset value

1 Measured temperature None 0-999 °C
2 Regeneration temperature Raises/Lowers preset value 400, 750-850 °C 800°C, (850°C mod S9)
3 Regenerationcontrol Raises/Lowers " " 550-650 °C 600

10 Accumulated operation time None 0-999 days
11 Vehicle operation time Raises/Reduces 5-20 hours

When the unit is calibrated or nullified day counting is nullified. The first day is day 0.
Actual day is shown in menu 8. When Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 occurs the number of the day is logged.

ERROR CODES
E1 is shown on the display: If the measured temperature is less than 250 °C after 5 minutes of
regeneration, usually caused by a broken heating element, regeneration is stopped.
E3 is shown on the display: If the measured temperature is less than -50 °C during longer time than 30
seconds, usually caused by a reversed polarity thermocouple, regeneration is stopped.
