Dear Parent,
Namaste!

As mentioned in the school calendar, the students of t he p re se nt Grade 9 will be going for their SUPW
/ PSHE trip from 7th November to 9th November, 2024 to Camp Kyari.

The camp base in Corbett is a small village called ‘Syat’ on the slopes of the Himalayan foothills. The
project work which will be undertaken by our students includes construction of an RCC road, construction
of a check dam and making a support wall. These meaningful projects will be assigned and executed in sub
groups. The children will be assisted by an adequate number of technical people. All activities will be
conducted under close supervision by the experts of the camp. Post the trip, the students will be required to
fill in a form to reflect on their experience during the trip.

We urge you to note that SUPW is a MANDATORY requirement for the award of the ICSE certificate
and for the IGCSE students it contributes towards building skills of collaborative social work for their PSHE
program.

Please make note of the following :

1. Students shall be evaluated by teachers on various parameters which in turn shall aid assessment
for SUPW (for ICSE) / PSHE (for IGCSE).

2. The Itinerary is as follows:

Day 1 (7 November)
o Report to school (Moulsari Campus) at 5:15 am.
o Departure from school in Volvo buses. (Students may carry packed meal / fruit).
o Arrival at Camp Kyari.
o Lunch at the camp.
o Tent allotment and sharing the days plan which includes - Understanding the project, its
scope and the geographical setting of the village.
Day 2 (8th November):
o Students work in teams on specific aspects of the work project.
o The work session will be divided in two sessions (Morning: 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon) and
(Afternoon: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with regular breaks for lunch and refreshments.
o Evening: Return to the camp for evening tea / milk break.
o Around the campfire: Reflection on the day gone by, planning for the next day, sharing
experiences, team rotations.
o Dinner and night out.

Day 3 (9th November):

o Hand over the finished project to village representatives. Lunch at the campsite and
departure from the camp.
o Arrive at TSRS, Moulsari at 7:00 pm.
3. Clothing:
o Keeping in mind the sensibilities of the village, students will wear kurta pajamas (for boys)
and salwar kameez with dupattas (for girls). One set of clothes per day is suggested.

o Please also carry:


▪ A couple of track pants with jackets for the evenings at the camp.
▪ Comfortable shoes and floaters.
▪ A light water-proof jacket in case of rain.
▪ A light jacket in case of a drop in temperature.
▪ A sunshade or cap and a sunscreen lotion.
▪ A torch with extra batteries.
▪ A water bottle.
▪ Mosquito repellant.
▪ Personal toiletries.
▪ A sleeping bag (optional) – mattresses and blankets are provided at the campsite, but
the children can carry a sleeping bag/extra blanket.

4. Medicines- Should your child have any medical history that we should
be aware of, please do apprise us. Please also pack any specific medication that
your ward uses, along with a note for the class teacher.

• The last day to fill the form is midnight Saturday, October 12, 2024
• Kindly send the hard copy of the Consent form, attached to the circular through your ward by Tuesday,
October 15, 2024. Please hand it over to the class teacher.

Kindly note the cancellation policy:


• You cannot withdraw once you have opted for the trip and trip charges will be added to the next fee
bill
• The cost of the trip is Rupees 10,940/ which will be added to the fee bill.
• We will share regular updates via email on the activities of the children for the duration of the trip
therefore we request you to not call teachers directly to enquire about your children. If there are any
medical concerns or any special medication for your ward, please do share all the details with the
class teacher.

As always, mobile phones and electronic items such as iPads and smart watches are not allowed.

Consent Form for Grade 9 (SUPW trip – 2024)

PSHE trip to Camp Kyari planned from the 7th November, 2024 to 9th November, 2024. I fully understand

that the school will try and ensure a safe and enjoyable trip for the children and I indemnify the school against

any action, proceedings, claims or demands from me in the event of any injury to my ward or any unforeseen

mishap that may occur during the trip.
