Background of the study


•Background of the study: the purpose of this research is to gain more knowledge in
regarding the subject of English and literature, this research is intended to present the
common problems by each students towards the subject of English. The main body of
this report contain the case of every student finding difficulties in English and
comprehension.

Scope & Significance of the Study:


•this study designed to each student having a hard time understanding the subject an
initial interview and survey was conducted by our team true families and friends.
additionally, the study will explore the potential benefits of improved reading

Background of the study


Interpersonal communication skills play a crucial role in the development and
success of individuals, especially in face-to-face classes. In the School Year 2023-
2024, a group of Grade 10 students from Cabuyao Integrated National High School will
be exposed to various communication techniques to enhance their social and
academic growth. These students will learn to effectively convey their thoughts,
emotions, and ideas in a manner that fosters understanding and collaboration.

As the Grade 10 students of Cabuyao INHS embark on this journey of


interpersonal communication skill development, they will be guided by dedicated
educators who will provide them with the necessary support, resources, and feedback
to ensure their success. Through this collaborative effort, the students will not only
enhance their communication abilities but also cultivate essential life skills that will
serve them well in the years to come.

In conclusion, the focus on interpersonal communication skills in face-to-face


classes for the Grade 10 students of Cabuyao Integrated National High School during
the School Year 2023-2024 will undoubtedly contribute to their personal and
academic growth. By equipping these young learners with the tools to effectively
communicate and connect with others, they will be well-prepared to embrace the
challenges and opportunities of their future endeavors.

Scope & Significance of the Study


This study focuses on the interpersonal abilities of chosen Grade 10 students
from CABUYAO INHS during face-to-face lessons in the school year 2023-2024. The
purpose of this study is to investigate the numerous factors that may influence the
development and expression of interpersonal skills in this situation. It will focus on
how students engage with one another and with their professors, convey their ideas
and views, and collaborate with others. The study will not include additional grade
levels, schools, or non-face-to-face learning modalities.

Moreover, the outcome of this study will be useful for any school officials.
Parents including the students of Cabuyao INHS. This study will clarify for all readers
why and how oral participation in Face-to-face classes affects the respondents
interpersonal communication. The outcome of this research will benefit for the
students, school administration and teachers and future researchers.

Methodology

Research Method
This study uses Quantitative Research since it allows for the gathering and
analysis of numerical data. The researchers were able to acquire, organized, and
objective information regarding the communication skills of the selected pupils by
applying Quantitative Methodologies.
Moroever, Descriptive Research in this study because it aims to describe and
analyze the current state of Interpersonal Communication skills among selected Grade
10 students at CABUYAO INHS for the school year 2023-2024. This form of study is
excellent for descriptive research since it allows for the collection and analysis of data
to characterize the characteristics of a certain subject.
Hence, correlational study method was used in this study because it aims to
investigate the relationship between Interpersonal Communication Skills and face-to-
face class attendance among Grade 10 students in CABUYAO INHS. The study will use
Correlational Research to see if there is substantial correlation between these two
factors. This study type is suited for these researchers to establish a relationship
between two or more variables without changing them.

Variable/s
Independent Variable/s : Interpersonal communication skills can be treated as an
independent variable in a research study, representing the ability to effectively
convey and interpret messages, emotions, and ideas, potentially influencing the
outcomes of various social interactions and situations.
Dependent Variable/s : Face-to-face classes can be considered as a dependent
variable if the main objective is to analyze the impact of this teaching method on
students' learning outcomes or other related factors.

Statistical Treatment
1. Slovin's formula was used to compute the sample size from the given
population and a margin of error. The formula is: n = N / (1 + N(e^2)). Where n is
the sample size, N is the population size, and e is the margin of error.

2. Weighted mean is a statistical method that considers the importance or


weight of each value in a dataset. It is calculated by taking the sum of the product of
each value and its weight, divided by the total weight.
3. Percentage is a way of expressing a proportion or ratio as a fraction of 100. It
is calculated by dividing the number of events by the total number of possibilities and
multiplying by 100
4. Likert scale is a type of survey response scale that measures people's
attitudes or opinions. The scale consists of a series of statements, and respondents
are asked to rate their level of agreement or disagreement on a scale ranging from
"strongly agree" to "strongly disagree".
