ASSIGNMENT NO. 1 FINALS

1. Please provide the size of column CC1, Size of vertical rebar and ties. What Grades of
rebar to use?
- It is advised that rebar used in wall, post, and column construction be at least 8 mm in
diameter. Similarly, foundations and plinths can be constructed with 10 mm irons. For
footings and foundations, ridge beams with a minimum diameter of 10 mm are an
excellent choice since they assist keep the foundation from settling.
2. Please provide the size of concrete pilaster of P5, size of vertical rebar and ties and Type?

- The most popular applications for #5 as reinforcing include shear walls, foundation
beams, footings, and precast masonry for building highways and bridges. Furthermore,
light-duty commercial and residential constructions including caissons, retaining walls,
and decks frequently use #5 rebar. Referred to as "16mm" in metric circles, this grade of
5/8" rebar.
3. At Beam RB6, please provide Beam Size, Boom Reinforcement, Top Reinforcement,
Side Reinforcement, and stirrups?

- The minimum diameter of rebar used in beams and slabs varies based on requirements for
structural design and local building codes. Generally speaking, 10 mm (3/8 inch) is the
minimum reinforcing diameter for slabs and beams.
4. At Typical Roof Edge at wall at Detail C2, what size of rebar to be used for Top and
Boom?
- For applications requiring assembly, rebar comes in three standard sizes: #3 (3/8), #4
(4/8), and #5 (5/8). Reinforcement type 3 is used in the construction of driveways and
terraces. The best material for bases and foundations is rebar.
Please check and study the J301-Specification and answer the following question.

1. What Division does the Reinforcement bar stipulate in the document?

- Measure the height of each wall fixture. Write sections outlining the location of the steel
reinforcement. Provide a list of all the bars, but don't charge for those sections.
2. What ASTM standards and Grade of reinforcement bar to be followed according to
Specification?
- For use as concrete reinforcement, this specification is applicable to coil and cut lengths
of plain and deformed carbon steel. Three separate material grades are available: 40
[280], 60 [420], and 75 [520]. Steel specimens must be rolled in an electric, basic oxygen,
or open furnace at the proper mold or wire steel temperatures. When performing thermal
analysis, steel materials need to include the appropriate amounts of sulfur, phosphorus,
manganese, and carbon. Along with meeting the necessary requirements for yield,
elongation, and tensile strength, the steel samples must also pass a tensile test. It is also
necessary to test steel samples for bending, stretching, and deformation.
3. For Welded Wire Reinforcement, what ASTM standards to be followed for plain welded
wire?
- This specification applies to steel wire based on hot-rolled bars as well as welded wire
reinforcement. Cold wrought, twisted, drawn, rolled, smoothed, and galvanized steel wire
are among its possible finishes. It is possible to fortify the welding wire using twisted
wire, plain wire, or a mix of the two.
4. For Welded Wire Reinforcement, what ASTM standards to be followed for deformed
welded wire?
- The manufacture of welding wire iron is regulated by ASTM A1064 Standard
Specification for Flat and Shaped Carbon Steel Wires for Concrete.
