Prayer to St.

Rafael the Archangel

September 29/October 24 (patron saint of travelers, the blind,
bodily ills, happy meetings, nurses, physicians and medical
workers.)

Glorious Archangel Saint Raphael,

great prince of the heavenly court,
you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and
grace.
You are a guide of those who journey by land or
sea or air,
consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners.
I beg you, assist me in all my needs
and in all the sufferings of this life,
as once you helped the young Tobias on his
travels.
and the great grace of purity
to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit.
St. Raphael, of the glorious seven
who stand before the throne of Him who lives and
reigns,
Angel of health, the Lord has filled your hand
with balm from heaven to soothe or cure our pains.
Heal or cure the victim of disease
and guide our steps when doubtful of our ways.
Amen.
Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
September 29 (patron saint of the Military, Police
officers, Firemen, death, and people who work in
dangerous conditions)

St. Michael the Archangel,

defend us in battle,
be our protection against the
wickedness
and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly
pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the
Heavenly host,
by the power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil
spirits
who prowl about the world seeking
the ruin of souls. Amen.
Prayer to St. Jacinta Marto
February 20 (Patron of the sick and of children)

Oh little Jacinta,
look kindly upon these prayers.
Pray for us that we may be humble and gentle
of heart as you were here on earth.
On earth you beheld Our Blessed Mother in her
radiance.
Pray that we may join Our Blessed Mother in
Heaven when our time on earth is over.
You suffered illness
and had only ten short years on earth,
but through the guidance of Our Lady
you offered penance and sacrifice to save
sinners.
Help us Jacinta to use our precious time on
earth to save as many souls as possible.
As Jesus so loves children
please carry our requests before Him. Amen
Prayer to Saint Luke
October 18 (patron saint of physicians and artists)

O St. Luke, you were

chosen to reveal in preaching
and writing God's love for the
poor. Moved by the heavenly
Spirit of Love, you detailed the
life of Jesus, showing His
divinity and His genuine
compassion for all human beings.
Help those who already
glory in God's name to
persevere in one heart and
one mind, and inspire all
people that they may hear the
Good News of Salvation.
Amen.
Prayer to Saint Cecilia
November 22 (patron of musicians, composers,
instrument makers, and poets)

O glorious St. Cecilia, virgin and

martyr, you won the martyr’s crown
without renouncing your love for
Jesus, the delight of your soul.
We ask that you help us to be
faithful in our love for Jesus,
that, in the communion of the saints,
we may praise Him twice in our
song of rejoicing for the Blood that
He shed which gave us the grace to
accomplish His will on earth.
Amen.
Prayer to St. Francis Xavier
December 3 (patron saint of missions)

Great Saint Francis,

well beloved and full of charity,
in union with you I reverently
adore the Divine Majesty.
I give thanks to God
for the singular gifts of grace
bestowed on you in life and
of glory after death,
and I beg of you,
with all the affection of my heart,
by your powerful intercession,
obtain for me the grace to live
a holy life and die a holy death.
Amen.
Prayer to St. Isidore
May 15 (patron saint of farmers and rural
communities)

Saint Isidore,
you were born into poverty
and worked by the sweat of your
brow throughout your life to give God
glory.
Please pray that I will find dignity
and holiness by doing the most
mundane chores
and labors of my life with love.
May I always seek first God’s
Kingdom,
making His will the center of my life.
Saint Isidore the Laborer, pray for
me. Amen.
Prayer to St. Lorenzo Ruiz
September 28 (patron saint of Filipino youth, the Philippines,
people working overseas, and altar servers.)

Beloved Lorenzo Ruiz,

confronted with death,
you proclaimed your readiness to die
a thousand times for your Christian faith.
Today the whole world admires your courage.
We feel particularly proud of you as our brother.
And we pray: You, a family man, protect our families.
Keep them united in love.
You, who bore your sufferings
with patience and resignation,
intercede for the sick of mind and body;
help them to receive the grace of God’s miraculous
healing.
You, who died in a foreign country,
take care of Filipinos living and working in this
country and in other parts of the world.
You, an example of Christian fortitude,
sustain our faith and make it spread
and grow strong all around us.
You, the Philippines’ first saint,
be the country’s special protector.
Unite us as one people;
help us to work in harmony for development
and progress; and give us peace.
San Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us. Amen.
Prayer to St. Blaise
February 3 (patron saint of wool combers, wild animals, candle
makers and ailments of the throat)

O glorious St. Blaise,

who by your martyrdom
left to the Church a precious witness to the
Faith, obtain for us the grace
to preserve within ourselves this divine gift,
and to defend — without concern for human
respect — both by word and example,
the truth of that same Faith,
which is so wickedly attacked
and slandered in these our times.
You miraculously restored a little child
who was at the point of death
because of an affliction of the throat.
Grant us your mighty protection in similar
misfortunes.
And, above all,
obtain for us the grace of Christian mortification,
together with faithful observance of the precepts
of the Church,
which keep us from offending almighty God.
Amen.
Prayer to St. John Paul II
October 22 (Patron Saint of World Youth Day)

Oh, St. John Paul,

from the window of heaven,
grant us your blessing!
Bless the Church that you loved
and served and guided, courageously leading her
along the paths of the world
in order to bring Jesus to everyone
and everyone to Jesus.
Bless the young, who were your great passion.
Help them dream again,
help them look up to the heavens again
to find the light that illuminates the paths of life here
on earth.
May you bless each and every family!
You warned of Satan’s assault against this precious
and indispensable divine spark that God lit on earth.
St. John Paul, with your prayer, may you protect the
family and every life that blossoms from the family.
Pray for the whole world,
which is still marked by tensions, wars and injustice.
You opposed war by invoking dialogue
and planting the seeds of love:
pray for us so that we may be tireless Sowers of
peace.
Oh St. John Paul, from heaven’s window,
where we see you beside Mary,
send God’s blessing down upon us all. Amen.
Prayer to St. Ambrose
December 7 (patron saint of beekeepers, beggars, learning and
Milan)

Holy St. Ambrose,

you are called the Honey Tongued Doctor
because of your ability to help others learn
the Truth of Christianity. We invoke your
powerful intercession, confident in the hope
that you will hear our prayers and obtain
for us the special grace of knowledge and
wisdom.
Lord God, you made St. Ambrose an
outstanding teacher of the faith. We are in
awe of his faith and so we ask that you
pray for us…
Pray for us, that we will have the grace to
put our knowledge to use in building the
kingdom of God on Earth.
Help us, St. Ambrose, to live our lives
seeking truth and wisdom. Through our
Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and
reigns with you in the unity of the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Prayer to St. Matthew
September 21 (patron saint of accountants, bankers,
bookkeepers, security guards, and stockbrokers.)

Saint Matthew,
God called you and you responded
immediately.
The emptiness you felt within your soul
could not be filled with money.
When you encountered Christ,
you left all behind to follow Him.
Please pray for me,
that I will never hesitate in saying “Yes”
to God’s call in my life,
so that God can transform my life
and use me as He wills.
Saint Matthew the Apostle and
Evangelist, pray for me. Amen.
Prayer to St. Albert the Great
November 15 (patron saint of scientists,
philosophers, and students)

Saint Albert the Great,

though your mind was incapable of
comprehending the depth
and breadth of God,
you strove for that goal nonetheless.
As a result of that continuous striving,
God used you in numerous ways,
helping to lay a firm foundation for the
development of the Church’s faith.
Please pray for me,
that I will devote myself more fully to
the study, prayerful pondering,
and contemplation of all that God has
revealed, so that I will be drawn more
deeply into communion with Him.
Saint Albert the Great, pray for me.
Amen.
Prayer to St. Sebastian
January 20 (archers, soldier and athletes and of
those who desire a saintly death)

Saint Sebastian,
you received the glorious crown of
martyrdom twice.
Your courage and fidelity to Christ
in the face of persecution was
unwavering.
Your encouragement of the
persecuted was heroic.
Please pray for me,
that I may have your same
unwavering courage
and thus, equally fulfill God’s will,
no matter how high the cost.
Saint Sebastian, pray for me.
