A. Preparation  Prayer
Good afternoon class! “Good afternoon, Sir!”
(5 minutes)
Everybody, please stand for our prayer. Students will stand.

Please lead the prayer, Gian. “Gian will “Lead the

row, Yellow B on the last row, Green A watches on the
left side, Green B in the second row, Orange A, and
Orange B on the last row.
Answers:
At a count of five you may now proceed to your assign  Triangle
area.
 Quadrilateral
One, two, three, four, and five.  Pentagon
 Hexagon
Okay, please settle down.
 Heptagon
Alright! This time let’s have a game. Are you familiar
with this game “Jigsaw Puzzle”?
For you to know how to play this game. Kindly read the
instructions first.
Instruction: Assemble the cut papers inside the envelop
to form an image or picture. Start by arranging the pieces
on a bond paper. Afterwards, paste it on the board. The
first group to finish will be given plus 5 points. Yes sir
(Student perform a Wow
Did you understand the instructions class? Clap)
Very good! “Student settle will down”

When you receive your envelop do not open it yet and

wait for my signal.
(The teacher distributes the 8 envelopes.)
Alright! You may now start.
The first group who finish first is group ………
What shape did you form and how many sides are there
group yellow A? How about yellow B? Group red A, red
B, green A, green B, orange A, and orange B?
Good job, everyone!
Let us give ourselves a Barangay Clap!
2. Explore Okay! Select one representative to get your puzzle formed
(3 minutes) because we’re having another activity. This activity
entitled “Measure Me”. And this time you are going to (Students do the headcount)
measure your puzzle formed in our last activity. Before
we start kindly read the instruction first.
Instruction: Using protractor you are going to measure
each angle of your puzzle formed and write the
measurement in each angle. Afterwards, paste it on the
board.

Did you understand the instruction class?

Okay! You may start now.
What is the measurement of each angle group yellow A? Answer: 60 cm
How about yellow B? Group red A, red B, green A, green
B, orange A, and orange B?
Answer: 100 cm
Good job, everyone!
Let us give ourselves a Good Job Clap!
Answer: 180 cm
Based on our activity what do you think is our topic this
afternoon? Yes Bradley?
Very good, Bradley! (Students will raised their
Let us give Bradley a Coca cola Clap! hands)
3. Explain Our topic for today is about Sides and Angles of a
Polygon.
(15 minutes)
Now class, do you have any idea about what are the Sides
and Angles of a Polygon? Yes Carl?
Okay you have a point there! Student C will answer

Let’s see if it is correct!

 Polygons are 2-dimensional shapes. They are

made of straight lines, and all the lines are
connected.
 Polygon comes from the Greek word Poly-means
“many” and gon - means “angle”.
 Points that define a polygon are the polygon
vertices.
 The number of vertices, sides and interior angles
in a polygon is the same, and this number
specifies the name of the polygon.

Interior Angle- is an angle on the inside of a polygon

formed by each pair of adjacent side.
FORMULA:
Sum of the Measures of Interior Angles of a Regular
Polygon

S = (n-2) 180º
n= the number of sides of a polygon

Measure of each Interior Angles of a Regular Polygon

(n-2) 180º
m<i= n

Examples:
“Student D will answer”
1.) What is a sum of the measurement of interior angle
(Students perform a
of a triangle?
barangay clap)
Yes Kim?
Okay very good! Let’s give Kim a Barangay Clap!
“Student E will answer”
2.) What is the measure of each interior angle of a
(Students perform a drivers
quadrilateral?
clap)
Yes Hannah?
Excellent! Let’s give Hannah a Drivers Clap!
“Student F will answer”
3.) What is the measure of each interior angle of a
(Students perform a good
pentagon?
Yes Ezrah? job clap)
Very good! Let’s give Ezrah a Good Job Clap! “None Sir”
Is there any question or clarifications regarding our topic?
Very good! I seems like you really understand our topic
for today, to test that you really understand our topic
today let’s have another activity
4. Elaborate Now let’s have an activity which is entitled “SOLVE
ME”. For those who are wearing Red watches will be
(20 minutes) group as one and also Yellow, Green and Orange. I will
give you 1 minute to answer each word problems. When
the time is up you need to raise your tag boards on time or
else your answer will not be counted. The group who gets
the right answer should only have the chance to role a die.
Each group is already given 5 points. Each phase of a die
contains possible points:
1- swap points with the other groups.
2- back to zero
3- plus 5
4- times 2
5- minus 5
6- plus 10

Here is your scoring board.

(The teacher will paste the scoring board).
Now are you ready?
Okay let’s start!
(The teacher starts flashing the word problem on screen)
“Yes sir”
Problems:
 Rhea bought a pentagonal table, and she wants
to know the measurement of each of the angle
of it. Solve for it by the use of the formula?
 Neil is walking at the street and he notice a
hexagonal stop sign, then he wants to know the
total measurement of the hexagonal stop sign? Answer Key:
What is the measurement of it? 1. 108º
 Teacher Saga asked his students to solve the 2. 720º
sum of interior angle of a nonagon. If you are a 3. 1,260º
student of teacher Saga what is your answer? 4. 135º
 Mary wants to draw an octagon with the same
measurement of each interior angle. Solve for
it by the use of the formula.

Okay! Let’s total your scores. And the winner!

Congratulations to group…….. (Students perform A Five
Let us give group…. a Five Million Clap! Million Clap!)
Good job, everyone!

Let’s have a short recap of our topic today.

Generalization:
1. How to solve the measurement of each interior
angle of a regular pentagon?
2. How to solve if there are more than 50 sides of a
polygon?
3. Why do we need to know how to solve the sides
and angles of a polygon?

Okay looks like you already understood our topic for

today. Let’s have a short quiz.

5. Evaluate Instructions: Get ½ crosswise of paper to answer the

following questions. You will answer 5 problems with
(7 minutes) allotted time of 2 minutes each problem.

1. What is a sum of the measure of interior angle

of a regular heptagon?

2. What is the measure of each interior angle of a

regular decagon?

3. Draw a regular pentagon.

4. Draw a regular octagon.

5. Give at least five real life example that can be
seen inside your house.
(After 10 minutes exchange your papers to your
seatmates.)
Answer Key:
1. 720º
2. 108º
