VI. Learning Experiences

1
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

1. Engage A. Opening Prayer – ask someone to lead the prayer before classes will start.
(12 minutes) B. Checking of Attendance -
C. Giving attention to the “special educational needs of learners” & setting the
classroom safe for learning. Let the following rules be inlighted to the learners:
D. Rule : Listen, Cooperate and Respect

E. Review the past Lesson!

Call learners to answer the following questions.
a. What was our lesson yesterday?
b. What is motion?

F. Preparing for the New Lesson!

A.The teacher will let the students the activity “PANTOMIME”.

B.The teacher will divide the class into three groups. They will choose one
representative of the group to pick a word strip having the phrases which he/she
will act through non-verbal.

Every group only have 1 minute to guess.

a. Phrase 1: Riding a bus
b. Phrase 2: Pushing a cart
c. Phrase 3: Walking on the street

2. Explore A. Group Activity: The teacher will let the students go to their group.
(8 minutes) B. Each group will be given different activity sheets containing different task. (See
Appendices)
C. They will do the activity for 8 minutes and after that they will choose 1
representative each group to present their output.
D. Every after the group the teacher will ask the following questions:
a. How do you find the activity? Easy or difficult?
b. Is your answer correct? Why?

3. Explain A. The teacher will process the learner’s answers. She will ask the following
(12 minutes) questions to

1. What are the three laws of motion?

2. Give a sample scenario which relates to the three laws of motion.

Possible answer:
1. a. The Law of Inertia: an object at rest will remain at rest, an object in motion
will remain in motion at constant velocity, unless acted upon by an
unbalanced force.
b. Law of Acceleration: the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to

2
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

the magnitude of a net force, and follows the direction of the net force, while it
is inversely proportional to the mass of an object.
Formula:
F = ma
Example:
1. What force must act on 50 kg mass to give it an acceleration of 0.30
m/s2?
Given: m=50 kg a=0.30 m/s2 F=?
F=ma
F= 50kg x 0.30 m/s2
F= 15 kg.m/s2 or 15 N

c. Law of Interaction: for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction.
2. a. Riding a bus: even if the body remains still, we can still consider it in motion
because of the moving bus.
b. Pushing a cart: if you apply force on it, it will accelerate.
c. Walking on the street: there is an interaction happening between the feet and the
ground.

4. Elaborate (15 minutes) 1. In the same group, one representative will pick one of the Newtons Law of Motion. And
let them think a creative role playing presentation based on the particlura law that they
have picked.
2. Each group will be given 10 minutes to brainstorm and practice.

5. Evaluate (10 minutes) A.The teacher will let the students answer the following:
I. Direction: In a ¼ sheet of paper answer the following questions. Write the law which
shows the principle that explains the instances given.
______________1. Rocket Motion
_____________2. You feel hurt when you strike the wall
_____________3. If a book is dropped, it falls to the floor
_____________4. You feel being thrown outside when a car you are riding in goes around
a curve.
_____________5. Golf player
_____________6. A nail hit by a hammer
_____________7. Take a step forward

3
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

_____________8. Pushing a cabinet

_____________9. Jumping boy
____________10. Rolling ball
II.Read and answer the problems below. Show your solution.
1. If a 4.5 kg bowling ball is rolled down the bowling lane with a force of 15N, what is
the acceleration of the ball?
2. A 25 N net force is applied to a rolling cart and produces an acceleration of 5 m/s2.
What is the cart’s mass?
3. A 0.5 kg ball accelerated at 50 m/s2. What force was applied?
Possible answer:
I.
1. Law of Interaction
2. Law of Interaction
3. Law of Acceleration
4. Law of Inertia
5. Law of Interaction
6. Law of Interaction
7. Law of Interaction
8. Law of Interaction
9. Law of Interaction
10. Law of Inertia
II.
1. Given: F = 15 N m= 4.5 kg a = ?
a=F/m
a= 15N / 4.5 kg
a= 3.3 m/s2
2. Given: F = 25 N a= 5 m/s2 m= ?
m=F/a
m=25 N / 5m/s2
m=5 kg
3. Given: m=0.5 kg a=50 m/s2 F=?
F=ma
F= 0.5 kg x 50 m/s2
F= 25 N

(2 minutes) tips.
Example:

The output will be graded through the following rubrics:

Teacher’s Reflection (Refer to DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2016)

A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation

B. No. of learners who require additional activities for remédiation

C. Did the remedial lessons work?

D. No. of learners who have caught up with the lesson.

E. No. of learners who continue to require remediation.

EXPLORE

Group 1- ” A body at rest, will remain ate rest, the body in motion will remain in motion unless
acted by unbalanced force” explain your own understanding about the statement.

Group 2 – Answer the problem below using the formula F=ma. A truck with a mass of 3,500 kg,
including the passengers, has an engine that produces a net horizontal force of 525 N. Assuming that there
is no other forces involve in the motion, find the following:

a.) acceleration of the truck

b.) starting from rest, how long will it take for the truck to reach the velocity of 11.5 m/s?

Group 3-
Explain the picture.
