DETAILED LESSON PLAN

GRADE LEVEL QUARTER DATE:

8 1 June 16, 2023

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate understanding of the
 Newton’s three laws of motion

B. Performance Standard The learners shall be able

 Develop a written plan and implement a “Newton’s
Olympics”
C. Learning Competencies  Describe the origin of Newton’s Three Law of Motion.
Write the LC code for each (Added LC)
 Identify the conditions under which an object at rest
remains at rest and an object in motion continues to
move at a constant velocity. (Added LC)
 Investigate the relationship between the amount of
force applied and the mass of the object to the
amount of change in the object’s motion. S8FE-Ia-15
 Infer that when a body exerts a force on another, an
equal amount of force is exerted back on it. S8FE-
Ia16
 Demonstrate how a body responds to changes in
motion. (Added LC)

IV. PROCEDURES
TEACHER ACTIVITY STUDENTS ACTIVITY

PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES

Teacher will say:

 Hello class, before we are going to start our (PRAYING)

class lets us pray first. So, students kindly
stand up.

 GOOD MORNING/AFTERNOON class!

 Before you take your seat kindly pick up a

piece of paper under your chair, and arrange  Good morning/Afternoon Sir!
your chair properly; then you may take your
sit.
 In my class I have four basic classroom rules:

1. Observe silence
2. Observe cleanliness  Thank you, sir!
3. Seat properly, and
4. Listen to your teacher

 Did you understand class?

This time I will introduce you this flower, this flower

is equivalent to 1 point, and you will know more
about this later on.

 Yes sir!

ENGAGE

Teacher will say:

 To introduce our new topic, I have here a

picture which is related to our new topic

Students answer may vary

Teacher will be going to ask students:
 Yes sir
1. Are familiar with this man?  Sir Isaac Newton “The Father of Modern
2. Who is this man? Physics”
3. Can you give me some of his contributions?  He established the “Three Law of Motion”
Very Good class

(Giving Flower to students who answer the questions

of the teacher correctly)

 Our topic for today is the “Newton’s Three

Law of Motion”

 Now let me introduce to you our learning

objectives:

1. Describe the origin of Newton’s Three

Law of Motion. (Added LC)
2. Identify the conditions under which an
object at rest remains at rest and an
object in motion continues to move at
a constant velocity.
3. Investigate the relationship between
the amount of force applied and the
mass of the object to the amount of
change in the object’s motion. S8FE-
Ia-15
4. Infer that when a body exerts a force
on another, an equal amount of force
is exerted back on it. S8FE-Ia16

5. Demonstrate how a body responds to

changes in motion. (Added LC)

 Before we are going to start our activity, I will

introduce to you the definition of each
“Newton’s Three Law of Motion” and the
timeline how Sir Isaac Newton formulated
these three laws of motion. For you to be
guided.

EXPLORE

Teacher will say:

 To better understand the topic, we will have a
group activity entitled “Pantomime”

Instruction:

 I will divide you in to three groups and I need

1 representative for each group to pick a word “Students will participate the activity”
strip that you are going to act through non-
verbal.

You are given only 1 minute to guess.

 Phrase 1: Riding a bus

 Phrase 2: Pushing Cart
 Phrase 3: Walking on the Street

REWARD CHART

EXPLAIN

Teacher will say:

Based on the activity: Students answer may vary:

 Riding a bus Sir because even if the body
1. Which scenario shows the first law of motion?
remains still but we can still consider it in motion
Why do you say so? because of the moving bus.

2. Which scenario shows the second law of  It’s Pushing a cart because if you are going to
motion? Why do you think so? apply force on it, it will accelerate.

3. Which scenario shows the third law of  Walking on the street Sir, because there is an
motion? Why do you think so? interaction happens between the feet and the
ground.

ELABORATE

Teacher will say:

 This time we will going to have an activity;

entitled “Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down”
 Do you know this activity?  Yes sir!
 I will show you a picture which is related to
the “Newton’s three law of Motion”
 All you need to do is thumbs up if it is the
first, second, third, Law of motion, and
thumbs down if not.
 Did you understand?
 Yes Sir!
 Any question? Clarification?
 No sir.
 Ok now let’s Start!
