1 Objectives
The objective of this method statement is to establish the necessary guidelines for the
maintenance of the Integrated Security System.
This Method Statement shall also ensure that the maintenance of Security System is executed
safely and in accordance with the contract requirements.
This method statement aims to ensure that work quality assurance and quality control activities
are conducted in a systematic manner, works are inspected, and conformance is verified and
documented.

Will have the overall responsibility of maintenance works, quality and safety. Will be directly
responsible for the day-to-day job on site, for coordinating work with the technician or any
other staff assigned to their work area. Engineer will ensure that all operatives receive a task
briefing at the start of work every day and will also ensure that safety standards are followed
on a daily basis. In case of any accidents or near miss events, the Technician will
immediately report these events to the Engineer. Measures will be taken to avoid such
accidents.
A quality representative from among the team will oversee the quality requirements and
quality control measures for the maintenance in coordination with the Maintenance Engineer.
All works shall be inspected for quality of workmanship and conformance to specifications
prior to offering any inspection to 3rd parties by the quality representative. The Engineer will
be responsible for the Health and Safety aspects on site.
The main escalation points for any issues on site, the O&M engineer shall report all incidence
to the site. In case of an emergency on site the project engineer shall immediately notify
BGC. All works shall be inspected for quality of workmanship and conformance to
specifications prior to offering any inspection to 3rd parties by the quality representative. The
Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the Health and Safety aspects on site. Contact
numbers for escalation are included in the JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) document.

Work will be carried out in approved areas only. Inspect the work area for any high voltage
cables or hot pipes which might damage the performance / physical properties of the cable.
All works to be planned in advance to ensure a safe means of access and work
environment. Materials shall be moved to work area in a safe manner and shall not block
access/egress from the site.
Safety briefings to be conducted with the staff to ensure that they are well aware of all HSE
rules and regulations. All safety equipment to be provided by MVP Tech and checked
regularly by the MVP Tech Engineer. All tools to be provided by MVP Tech and checked
regularly for compliance to the safety standards.
4.1 Preparation
Initial briefing with the team to be conducted before starting any work on site –
Trainings/ toolbox talks and instructions to be provided to all technicians involved on
the site, in the use of fall protection systems, suspension equipment such as lifelines
and harnesses, how to inspect and assess PPE before use, basic usage of power
tools, etc.
General briefing with the team to be conducted regarding the scope of work.
Ensure all required documents and materials approvals have been obtained.
Approved permit to work for maintenance works.
Approved material specifications.
Inspect and ascertain conformance of structural safety based on
approved drawings and material specifications.
Ensure all technicians and manpower is inducted onsite.
Ensure that work area is safe and not obstructing the establishment passage.
Ensure all constraints on operations have been identified and precautions are taken.
Ensure O&M Engineer in charge is always at the site.
Arrange all necessary personnel, tools, equipment, and services as required during
operations.

Visual Inspection
Examine the camera housing, mounts, cables, and connections for any visible damage
or wear.
Inspect the lens for dirt, dust, or any obstructions that could affect image quality.
Verify Connections: Ensure all connections, including power and data cables, are
secure and undamaged.
Cleaning
Camera Exterior: Clean the exterior of the camera, including the housing and mounts.
Utilize a Dome Cleaner Pro to access cameras positioned at a height of more than 3
meters.
Camera Lens: Use microfiber cloth to clean the lens without scratching it. Use a 4-step
ladder to carry out the task.
Camera Dome Cover: Use microfiber cloth to clean and a step ladder to reach cameras
less than 2.5 metres.
Verify that the camera is providing a clear image. Adjust the focus and field of view if
necessary.
System Checks
Check PTZ Functions: For PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras, ensure all functions are
working correctly.
Check motion detection recording sensitivity.
Check Image quality settings (Resolution, Compression, ISO, Exposure, bitrate, WDR)
Review Recording and Storage: Check the live, recording, fps, playback, camera
retention period, NTP server IP is assigned.
Check if there are any firmware updates for the cameras and apply them if necessary.

Visual Inspection

Check GateKeeper Cameras and Lenses: Inspect the cameras and lenses for dirt, dust,
or damage.
Inspect Controller Box, Cables, and Connections: Ensure all cables and connections
are secure and undamaged.
Cleaning
Clean Exterior Components: Use appropriate cleaning agents to clean the exterior
components of the UVIS.
Clean Cameras and Lenses: Use lens cleaning solutions and microfiber cloths to clean
the camera lenses carefully.
Clean and clear the drain hole, ensure all cables and connectors are clean and free of
debris.
Test
Run system Tests on Operator Terminal
Check that the Driver & Overview Cameras and IVUS are showing clear images.
Visual Inspection
Inspect Break Glass Units: Check for any visible damage, wear, or tampering. Ensure
the glass is intact.
Inspect Push Buttons: Check for any damage or wear. Ensure the button is functional
and not obstructed.
Inspect Card Readers: Check for physical damage, dirt, or debris. Ensure the reader
surface is clean.
Inspect Turnstiles: Examine for any visible damage, wear, or obstruction. Ensure all
mechanical parts move freely. Use of ladder to check mechanical parts by removing top
cover.

Clean Break Glass Units: Use a soft cloth and appropriate cleaning agents to clean the
units.
Clean Push Buttons: Clean the surface and surrounding area with a disinfectant wipe.
Clean Card Readers: Use a microfiber cloth and appropriate cleaner to clean the card
reader surface.
Clean Turnstiles: Wipe down all accessible parts with a suitable cleaner, ensuring no
residue is left. Use a ladder to blow dust off and apply lubricants.
Clean Emergency Strobe Siren with a soft cloth.
Power On Procedure
BGC Electrical personnel will remove the Lockout Tagout Device.
Safely switch on the power to the turnstile by flipping the circuit breaker to the "on"
position.
Verify that the power is on the turnstile.
Verification
Verify functionality by testing the alarm connection and ensuring it triggers correctly.
Ensure the push button activates the door release or alarm system as intended.
Use a Badge to check if the readers correctly read and authorizes access.
Test Turnstiles: Verify smooth operation, ensuring they lock and unlock correctly.
Test the Emergency strobe siren: informing both HSE personnel and occupants within
the building before starting and then test.
Visual Inspection
Inspect Exterior: Check the scanner’s exterior for any visible damage, wear, or dirt.
Inspect Conveyor Belt: Examine the conveyor belt for signs of wear or damage.
Check Connections: Ensure all cables and connections are secure and undamaged.

Clean Exterior and Conveyor Belt: Use appropriate cleaning agents to clean the
exterior and conveyor belt.
Clean Monitor and Control Panel: Use dust blower, soft cloth and screen cleaner to
clean the monitor and control panel.
Clean Metor Detector: Carefully clean the Metor Detector and blow dust off the Control
Panels.
Power On Procedure
Remove the lockout tagout plug device.
Restore power to the baggage scanner & Metor Detector by powering on.
Visual Inspection
Safely power down the Workstation & Monitor and unplug from the wall socket.
Inspect Workstation Exterior: Check for any visible damage, dust, or dirt on the
workstation case.

Clean Workstation Exterior: Use a soft cloth and appropriate cleaning agents to wipe
down the exterior of the workstation.
Clean Monitor Screen: Use a microfiber cloth and a screen cleaner specifically
designed for monitors to clean the screen.
Clean Monitor Casing: Wipe down the monitor casing with a damp cloth or cleaning
wipes.
Clean Keyboard and Mouse: Use disinfectant wipes to clean the keyboard and mouse,
paying special attention to frequently touched areas.
Use a blower to remove dust and debris from vents and fans.
Power On Procedure
Remove the lockout tagout plug device.
Turn on the System.
Ensure the system is functioning correctly and all applications are running as expected.
Visual Inspection
Ensure cables are properly managed, labelled, and secured to avoid tangling and damage.
Check patch panels and connections for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.

Reorganize and neatly arrange any tangled or improperly managed cables.

Use cable ties or Velcro straps to secure cables and prevent movement or damage.
Verification
Ensure all equipment within the rack is operating correctly and efficiently.
Verify that cooling systems are operational and maintaining appropriate temperatures.
Visual Inspection
Examine the server rack to ensure that the server is securely mounted and aligned properly.

Check the server for multiple power supply units (PSUs). Ensure all PSUs are installed
correctly and securely.
Look for LED indicators on each PSU. Green LEDs typically indicate normal operation, while
amber or red LEDs may indicate a fault.
Open the disk array enclosures if applicable and visually inspect the LED indicators on each
drive.
All ongoing maintenance activities shall be monitored by the Maintenance Engineer to ensure
quality of workmanship and adherence to company standards. All the security systems shall be
tested after completing the maintenance work to ensure functionality. Additionally, all maintenance
tasks shall be inspected by BGC for quality of workmanship and conformance to specifications.
