tools to enhance the teaching-learning experience. The IT infrastructure and library provide the support to make available to faculty and students up-to-date knowledge and information for learning, research and consultancy. Simulation softwares are available to help students relate to real-life dynamics while taking business decisions. The seminar halls and auditorium are centers where experts from industry and academia share their life experiences. The complete academic monitoring and control is done through the intranet - the CampusNet and the Faculty Zone. The CampusNet is the portal of communication for students on academic matters, library, placements, accounts, hostel etc. The Faculty Zone is for the faculty research and academic activities and HR and accounts information. Faculty Resources The campus has a large and well qualified faculty pool. The faculty members are involved in research, case development and industry consultancy. Many of the faculty members hold doctoral qualifications and have rich industry experience. Computing Facilities Hyderabad campus is equipped with latest state of art technology of computer network with high speed backbone and security through CISCO high end routers. Hostels are wired to link with the campus high speed network backbone, the auditorium and classrooms are also connected with the local high speed LAN for facilitating faculty for teaching and accessing databases. Video conferencing facility is available for sharing lectures and group discussions with other national
and international institutes and also in extensive use by prospective employers for placements. The campus has exclusive subscription of Microsoft products viz. Windows XP, Office 2007, Microsoft exchange, SQL server etc, Adobe products (PageMaker, Acrobat, Photoshop etc.) which are being used in dayto-day operations. For teaching labs are licensed with SAP, SPSS, SAS, iThink, Rational Rose, Eviews, Microsoft CRM, AutoCAD and Cadian Advanced CAD etc. 20 Mbps of high speed Intranet is extensively used by students and faculties for academic purposes. Students have built campus radio on the local LAN for information to the students about the latest happenings, announcements and entertainment. Library Facilities Library is equipped with latest software packages and a large collections of books, CDs, videos, Indian and international journals; magazines and research reports, relating to management and allied subjects. IBS subscribes to several academic online databases like Ebsco business scource complete, Econlit, Academic search complete, Emerald management extra, ProQuest, JSTOR and Cabells directory; industry databases like the World Development Indicators; CMIE databases (including Prowess, Aefa, CapEx, Business Beacon and Industry Analysis Survey) and Capitaline and business and research oriented online databases like Reuters, Business Insights and Marketline. The library is fully supported by the IT infrastructure. The library services are computerized with Lib-Suite Web enabled library software which facilitates automated identification, reservation and circulation of books. Barcodes and scanners are used to issue books. A web based catalogue is also available on the internet for inquiring about the books.

The objective of the association is to ensure that each student is thoroughly exposed to all the nuances of teaching, research, consultancy and institutional development. Visiting Scholar Program After successful completion of Ph.D. qualifying examination, in the third year of the program the students are eligible to spend 10 months abroad under the Visiting Scholar Program. The main objective of the VSP is to make sure that these candidates get exposure to the teaching and research environment in an international context. The universities with which IBS has tied up are:

The rigor of the program demands commitment and hard work in pursuit of greater insights into the chosen topic and the motivation to master all essential components of academic research. The program has four phases, namely, Coursework, Qualifying examination, Preparation of Thesis Proposal and Thesis Work. The program can be completed in four years. Coursework The objective of the coursework is to impart scholarship and to equip the candidate with the latest developments in the discipline, including the tools of research. The candidate is expected to successfully complete eight prescribed courses during this phase over a period of two years. The candidate is required to make six visits of two weeks duration each to the campus for the course work. Qualifying Examination A candidate, who successfully completes course work, would take a Ph.D. qualifying examination based on the completed course work. The qualifying examination will assess the candidates knowledge in the course work completed and the ability to apply the same in research. The qualifying examination will consist of written examination followed by a viva voce. Preparation of Thesis Proposal After successful completion of the Ph.D. qualifying examination, the candidate will register for the Independent Study Course and start the work of preparation of thesis proposal. For each candidate, the university will appoint a Doctoral Advisory Committee (DAC) of 3 or 4 members. The candidate has to develop the thesis proposal under the guidance of the DAC and expected to give thesis proposal progress seminars as and when required. If the DAC members are satisfied, the Convener of the DAC, will forward the research proposal to the research committee of the University for Approval. The candidate has to defend the research proposal before the screening committee appointed by the research committee. Thesis work Consequent to the approval of the research proposal by the research committee, the candidate will be allowed to register for the thesis preparation after due approval by the supervisor. During this phase, the candidate is expected to develop and complete the thesis through frequent interactions with the supervisor. The candidate is expected to submit a progress report to the supervisor every two months. After the candidate completes the credit requirements of the thesis, he/she becomes eligible to submit the thesis for evaluation. The candidate is expected to complete the Ph.D. Thesis within one year of the approval of the proposal.

Discussions are also on with some more Universities in US, Europe and Australia for VSP arrangements. Stipend Students will be paid a stipend of ` 10,000 per month for all four years. They will be also provided teaching opportunities at UG level for additional emoluments. Students successfully completing the Ph.D. program can pursue their careers in any organization of their choice. They may also apply to IBS Hyderabad based on the vacancies available. Those who opt for Visiting Scholar Program should be funded by themselves.

Curriculum: Students are exposed to the latest body of knowledge through the contemporary, market-oriented curriculum. Courseware: The students are provided high quality courseware comprising of reference books and case study volumes. In addition, they have online access to several national and international journals, research reports and databases. Classroom Sessions: Students participate in classroom sessions, which help them to learn and internalize their understanding of subjects. Leadership Training: To develop their leadership skills, students undergo leadership training sessions during their courses of study. Interaction with Business Leaders: Students will have the opportunity to interact with leading management thinkers, corporate leaders and entrepreneurs, and other high profile personalities from government organizations and NGOs, at various forums organized by IBS. Continuous Evaluation: At IBS, performance is assessed through a continuous evaluation process, and the appropriate feedback is provided, throughout the period of study. Students are evaluated on the basis of class participation, home assignments, case analyses, seminars, projects, tests, etc.

The student community at IBS is truly diverse; the students come from different states, social and cultural backgrounds, and walks of life. As they become a part of the IBS community, they get an unparalleled exposure to different cultures, languages, and ways of living. At IBS campus, a Student Council consisting of the Director, a faculty member, and a number of student representatives from the senior and the junior batches organizes a variety of programs and activities throughout the year. Several student activities are directed towards extending the classroom learning experience. Such activities include organizing seminars on contemporary management issues, publishing in-house magazines, organizing guest lectures, and organizing and participating in interbusiness school competitions. Similarly, academic clubs and committees provide a platform for students to make management a part of their daily lives. Industry leaders are invited to the clubs to deliver talks on contemporary issues. The clubs and committees organize quizzes and debates, and meet frequently to discuss new ideas, issues, and developments in their areas of interest. Students also organize and participate in extra-curricular activities such as sports and games, and social and cultural events, and also celebrate different regional festivals and national occasions like Teachers Day, Independence Day, and Republic Day. Students also participate successfully in national and international inter-business school competitions. In 2007, a group of students from IBS won the Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition 2007 organized by University of Washington, USA, competing against students from business schools around the world. Two MBA students won the Second prize in the prestigious Baylor-USASBE Student Case Research Competition organized by the Baylor University Entrepreneurship Program and United States association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship in South Carolina, in January 2011. Students also participate in the social service projects, such as organizing blood donation camps and environmental protection programs.

International Conference on Quantitative Methods in Money, Banking Finance and Insurance March 19-20, 2010: 60 papers were presented. The 2nd International Conference on Applied Economics and Time Series Econometrics April 16-17, 2010: 80 papers were presented by researchers around the globe. Prof. B B Bhattacharya (Vice Chancellor, JNU, Delhi), Prof. Gil-A-Alana (University of Navarra, Spain), and Prof. Manoj Panda (Director CESS, Hyderabad) were some of the eminent economists who participated in the conference. The 4th Doctoral Theses Conference September 24-25, 2010: 88 papers were received and 49 papers were presented by scholars from India and abroad. The 3rd International Conference on Marketing and Business Strategy (ICOMBS) 2010, was held on December 3-4, 2010: 55 papers were presented.

Internships
The Summer Internship Program (SIP) and the Management Research Project combine academic inputs with practical training and offer industry-related, handson experience in various career opportunities. They also help students gain future employment contacts by networking with potential employers.
Strong Industry Interface
The entire placement exercise is a collaborative effort between IBS and the students. While IBS provides guidance and support through extensive networking with potential employers, the students have the responsibility of making the best possible efforts to obtain suitable placements. Placements The placements for the Class of 2011 have been completed. More than 120 leading recruiters have participated in the campus placements. IBS students are trained to be well-rounded professionals, and the placement record is adequate testimony to the fact.
Industry interaction programs are organized by CMC with a cross-section of professionals from various sectors and functional areas like financial services, marketing, human resource management, operations, information technology, etc. A range of professional development seminars are also organized with the industry, to facilitate regular job placements.

Prof. Anand, M.Com. Prof. Vigneswara Swamy P M Prof. Konthoujam Gyanendra Singh, Ph.D.
Economics His area of research interest is development economics. He teaches economics and allied areas. MBA, Ph.D. Finance and Accounting His research interests are in the areas of economics, banking/finance and HRM. He has published research papers in leading national journals. He teaches finance related subjects. Economics He was a visiting scholar at Martin J. Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University, USA. His research papers/articles in economics and finance are published in national and international journals. He is a winner of the Best Paper Award at an international conference, in 2009 at the University of Nevada, USA.
Prof. C Anand, MBA Finance and Accounting He worked earlier for a leading financial institution. He has experience in project appraisals, project monitoring, term lending, budgeting and MIS. His areas of interest include financial management, project management and quantitative methods.

Fee Selected candidates are required to pay the fee as given below. In addition, students will be required to pay hostel, water, electricity, housekeeping, bus and mess charges as applicable. The fee for the 2 year MBA, MBA(FE) and MBA(FB) Programs is ` 4.95 lakhs per annum for each program. The fee for the 4 year Ph.D. program (Full-time/Part-time) is ` 1.30 lakhs per annum. However, Full-time Ph.D students have to pay only ` 40,000 towards admission fee. They get full waiver of tuition fee of ` 60,000 per semester for 8 semesters, subject to academic performance. Merit Scholarships IBS offers a limited number of merit scholarships, to deserving students based on their academic performance. Bank Loans Several banks including State Bank of India, Andhra Bank, Syndicate Bank, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Bank of Maharashtra, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, HDFC Bank, etc., provide educational loans to the candidates selected for the Programs conducted by IBS, Hyderabad.
