Reflection on Physical Activities

Physical education is not always about enhancing our physical abilities but it also plays a
crucial role in our overall development, teaching us about discipline, determination, and the
importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In our last session, we engaged in a series of activities
that tested our physical limits and taught us valuable lessons.
The first activity was standing Long Jump. This activity was a test of my explosive strength
and agility. It is where I stand still, bend my knees, and jump as far as possible. It reminded me that to
achieve great distances, I must prepare myself mentally and physically, focusing on the goal ahead.
The second activity was Knee Curl Ups. It is an activity where I lie on my back and bring my knees
up, then curl my upper body forward towards my knees.Through this exercise, I've learned the
importance of core strength and its role in providing stability to our entire body. It also taught me that
persistence is key to improving our endurance.
The third activity was Push ups. This activity is where I lie face down and push my body up
with my hands until my arms are straight, then lower myself back down. It challenged my upper body
strength and endurance. Each push up was a reminder that progress might be slow, but with consistent
effort, we can push past our perceived limits. The fourth activity was Shuttle Run. In this activity I run
to a point, pick up an object, run back, and repeat. It’s like dashing back and forth to catch something
that’s moving. The shuttle run was not just about speed, it was about agility and the ability to change
direction swiftly. It symbolizes life's unpredictable nature and the need to be adaptable.
The fifth activity is the Three Minute Step Test. In this activity I step up and down on a stool
or higher part of the floor for three minutes, like going up and down stairs. This checks how well my
heart and lungs work when I’m active. This test of cardiovascular endurance showed me that my
heart and lungs are vital to my overall fitness. It also highlighted the importance of pacing myself to
sustain energy over time. The next activity was the Sit and Reach. In this activity I sit on the ground,
stretch my legs out, and reach forward towards my toes. It’s like trying to grab something just out of
reach. This activity increases my flexibility. It taught me that reaching my goals sometimes requires
us to stretch beyond our comfort zones.
One-Leg Balance is an activity where I stand on one foot and try to keep my balance without
falling. It’s like being a statue on one leg. This helps me practice balancing. Balancing on one leg was
a metaphor for the balance I need in life. It showed me that focusing on the present moment can help
me stay steady amidst life's challenges. The last activity was Ruler Drop. In this activity I try to catch
a ruler as soon as it’s dropped, using only my fingers. It’s like trying to snatch a falling feather. A
simple test of reaction time, the ruler drop taught me that alertness and quick responses are essential,
not just in physical activities but in everyday situations.
In conclusion, these activities were more than just exercises they were lessons in life. They
taught me about my strengths, my areas for improvement, and the importance of a holistic approach to
health and well-being.
