Volcanoes found in the Philippines

1. Mayon volcano
- Mayon volcano, in Southeast Luzon, is the most active volcano in
the Philippines. Its classic, symmetrical profile, which rises above the
Albay Gulf to a height of 2462 m, is the result of a structurally simple
volcano where eruptions have occurred from a single central conduit.
Mayon's frequent historical eruptions, recorded since 1616, have
typically included powerful explosive activity accompanied by
pyroclastic flows, mudflows, and lava flows that descended to the
lower flanks of the volcano.
2. Babuyan Claro
volcano
-Babuyan Claro
Volcano, also known as
Mount Pangasun, is an
active volcano located on
Babuyan Island, the
Northernmost of the
Babuyan group of
islands in Luzon Strait, north of the main island of Luzon in the
Philippines. It is classified as one of the active volcanoes of the
country with the last confirmed eruption in 1860. It is a
stratovolcano with an elevation of 843 meters (2,766 ft) and a base
diameter of about 8 kilometers (5.0 mi) located in the center of
Babuyan Island (also referred to as Babuyan Claro Island).

3.Iraya volcano
-Iraya is an active
stratovolcano on Batan
Island, 200 km north of
Luzon, Philippines. It is the
northernmost active
volcano in the Philippines.
Its last eruption probably
happened in 1454 AD, but
little details are known about this eruption. It seems that Iraya
volcano's eruptions were exclusively explosive, forming many
pyroclastic flows. There are no lava flows. It is the most prominent
feature of the 20-km-long Batan island. It has a 1.5-km-wide summit
crater largely filled by a younger cone that forms the present-day
summit.
4. Bulusan volcano
-Bulusan Volcano is a stratovolcano on the island of Luzon in
the Philippines. Located in the province of Sorsogon in the Bicol
Region, it is 70 kilometers (34 mi) southeast of Mayon Volcano and
approximately 390 kilometers (240 mi) southeast of Manila. Bulusan
is one of the active volcanoes in the Philippines. It covers the
northeast rim of Irosin caldera that was formed about 40,000 years
ago. It has a peak elevation of 1,565 m (5,135 ft) above sea level with
a base diameter of 15 km (9.3 mi).

5. Pinatubo volcano
-Pinatubo volcano is
an active stratovolcano in the
Zambales Mountains, located
on the tripoint boundary of
the provinces of Zambales,
Tarlac, and Pampanga. Its
eruptive history was
unknown to most before the
pre-eruption volcanic activity of early 1991. Mount Pinatubo's summit
before the 1991 eruption was 1,745 m (5,725 ft) above sea level, only
about 600 m (2,000 ft) above nearby plains, and only about 200 m
(660 ft) higher than surrounding peaks, which largely obscured it
from view.
Mountains in the Philippines

1. Mount Kabunian
-Mount Kabunian is a mystic mountain part of the Bakun
Trilogy, alongside Mt. Lubo and Mt. Tenglawan in Bakun town,
Benguet. Its name “Kabunian” pertains to the highest deity of the
Kankana-ey tribe in Mountain Province. Mt. Kabunian’s rocky
mountainside also used to be a burial place with wooden coffins
hanging on the cliffside. Overlooking the Bakun Rice Terraces, Mt.
Kabunian rises over 1,789 meters above sea level. During rainy days,
it transforms into a crying mountain as the waterfalls cascade down
the verdant landscape.
2. Mount Halcon
-Mt. Halcon is
one of the toughest hikes
in the Philippines with
an elevation of 2,582
meters above sea level,
higher than the previous
estimates data at 2,586 m
(8,484 ft). It is the 23rd-
highest peak in the
Philippines and 37th-
highest peak of an island on Earth. Mt. Halcon is home to a large
diversity of flora and fauna, including the critically endangered
Mindoro Tamaraw.
3. Mount Apo
-Mount Apo, also
known locally as Apo
Sandawa. With an
elevation of 2,954
meters (9,692 ft) above
sea level, it is the
highest mountain in the
Philippine archipelago,
Mindanao and 24th-
highest peak of an
island on Earth. Mount Apo is the most-prominent mountain in the
Philippines. The peak overlooks from Davao City 45 kilometers
(28 mi) to the northeast, Digos 25 kilometers (16 mi) to the southeast,
and Kidapawan 20 kilometers (12 mi) to the west. It is located west
of Davao City, home to the critically endangered Philippine Eagle. It
exhibits a multitude of landscapes, from mossy swamps to craggy
rocks and lush forests.
4. Mount Pulag
-Mount Pulag is
Luzon's highest peak
at 2,928 metres
(9,606 ft) above sea
level, third-highest
mountain in the
Philippines, and the
26th-highest peak of
an island on Earth. It
is second-most
prominent mountain
in the Philippines.
Located on the triple border of the provinces of Benguet, Ifugao,
and Nueva Vizcaya, the borders meet at the mountain's peak Mount
Pulag is famous for its "sea of clouds" and its exceptional view of
the Milky Way Galaxy at dawn, which has attracted many tourists
who wish to see the "other-worldly" scenery.

5. Mount Kitanglad
- Mt. Kitanglad is the 4th highest mountain in the country. It
is among the protected natural landscapes and hiking spots in the
Philippines. As one of the top 5 tallest mountains in the Philippines,
Mt. Kitanglad boasts a summit with an elevation of 2,899 meters
above sea level in Bukidnon province. Mt. Kitanglad Range National
Park is one of the few remaining flourishing rainforests in the
Philippines. As a biodiversity haven, it is home to the rarest plant and
animal species, including the Philippine Eagle.
