WATER FORMS

The Taal Lake , formerly known as Bombón Lake, is a


freshwater volcanic crater lake in the province of Batangas, on
the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The lake fills Taal
Volcano, a large volcanic caldera formed by very large
eruptions between 500,000 and 100,000 years ago.

The Pasig River is a river in the Philippines that connects


Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay. Stretching for 25.2 kilometers,
it bisects the Philippine capital of Manila and its surrounding
urban area into northern and southern halves. Its major
tributaries are the Marikina River and San Juan River.

Subic Bay is a bay on the west coast of the island of Luzon


in the Philippines, about 100 kilometres northwest of Manila
Bay.

The Philippine Sea is a marginal sea of the Western


Pacific Ocean east of the Philippine archipelago, occupying
an estimated surface area of 5 million square kilometers.
The Philippine Sea Plate forms the floor of the sea. 

Maia Cristina Falls is a waterfall of the Agus River in the


Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines. It is sometimes
called the "twin falls" as the flow is separated by a rock at the
brink of the waterfall

Tinago Falls is a waterfall on the Agus River,


located in between the town of Linamon and Iligan
City, Lanao del Norte in the northern part of the
Philippine island of Mindanao. It is one of
the main tourist attractions of Iligan, a city
known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls.
Lake Lanao is a large ancient lake in the Philippines, located in Lanao del Sur province in the
country's southern island of Mindanao. With a surface area of 340 km², it is the largest lake in
Mindanao, and the second largest lake in the Philippines and counted as one of the 15 ancient lakes
in the world.

San Juanico Strait is a narrow strait in the Eastern Visayan region in the Philippines. It separates
the islands of Samar and Leyte and connects the Carigara Bay with the San Pedro Bay. It is about
38 kilometres long. At its narrowest point, the strait is only 2 kilometers wide.

Albay Gulf a large gulf in the Bicol Peninsula of Luzon island in the Philippines . The place has
been one of the tourist spots in the province because of the frequent sightings of WHALE SHARKS
(known as butanding in the local vernacular) in the coastal areas.

Pagsanjan Falls, also known as Cavinti Falls (indigenous name: Magdapio Falls) is one of the
most famous Waterfalls in the Philippines . Located in the province of laguna , the falls is one of the
major tourist attractions of the region. The three-drop waterfall is reached by a river trip on dugoat
canao known locally as Shooting the rapids, originating from the municipality of Pasanjan

LAND FORMS

The Chocolate Hills are a geological formation in the Bohol


province of the Philippines. There are at least 1,260 hills but there
may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than
50 square kilometres. They are covered in green grass that turns
brown during the dry season, hence the name.

Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano in the Zambales


Mountains, located on the tripoint boundary of the Philippine
provinces of Zambales, Tarlac and Pampanga, all in Central
Luzon on the northern island of Luzon.
Mount Makiling, or Mount Maquiling, is a dormant stratovolcano located in the provinces of
Laguna and Batangas on the island of Luzon, Philippines. The mountain rises to an elevation of
1,090 m above mean sea level and is the highest feature of the Laguna Volcanic Field.

The Allah Valley is a large valley of the Allah River in the provinces of South Cotabato and Sultan
Kudarat on the island of Mindanao, Philippines. It is formed by the Roxas-Matulas Range in the
north and the Daguma Mountain Range in the south. It is accessible via the Allah Valley Airport in
Surallah, South Cotabato. 

Mount Apo, also known locally as Apo Sandawa, is a large solfataric, dormant stratovolcano on the
island of Mindanao, Philippines.
Taal Volcano is a large caldera filled by Taal Lake in the
Philippines. Located in the province of Batangas, the
volcano is the second-most active volcano in the
Philippines, with 34 recorded historical eruptions, all of
which were concentrated on Volcano Island, near the
middle of Taal Lake.

The Banaue Rice Terraces are terraces that were


carved into the mountains of Banaue, Ifugao, in the
Philippines, by the ancestors of the indigenous people.
The terraces are occasionally called the "Eighth
Wonder of the World". It is commonly thought that the
terraces were built with minimal equipment, largely by
hand.

Kanlaon, officially the Mount Kanlaon, is an active


stratovolcano on the island of Negros, Philippines. It
is the highest point in Negros, as well as the whole
Visayas Region, with an elevation of 2,465 m above
sea level.

The Sierra Madre is the longest mountain range in the


Philippines. Spanning for over 540 kilometers, it runs
from the province of Cagayan down to the province of
Quezon, forming a north–south direction on the eastern
portion of Luzon, the largest island of the archipelago. 

Mayon Volcano, also known as Mount Mayon, is a


sacred and active stratovolcano in the province of Albay
in Bicol Region, on the large island of Luzon in the
Philippines. A popular tourist spot, it is renowned for its
"perfect cone" because of its symmetric conical shape.
