Objective: The overall objective of the project work is to help students gain an insight and
pragmatic understanding of the theme and see all the Social Science disciplines from
interdisciplinary perspective. It should also help in enhancing the Life Skills of the students.
Students are expected to apply the Social Science concepts that they have learnt over the years
in order to prepare the project report.
If required, students may go out for collecting data and use different primary and secondary
resources to prepare the project. If possible, different forms of Art may be integrated in the
project work.
3. The distribution of marks over different aspects relating to Project Work is as follows:

6. A Summary Report should be prepared highlighting:
• objectives realized through individual work and group interactions;
• calendar of activities;
• innovative ideas generated in the process (like comic strips, drawings, illustrations,
script play etc.);
• list of questions asked in viva voce.
7. It is to be noted here by all the teachers and students that the projects and models
prepared should be made from eco-friendly products without incurring too much expenditure.
8. The Project Report should be handwritten by the students themselves.
9. Records pertaining to projects (internal assessment) of the students will be maintained
for a period of three months from the date of declaration of result for verification at
the discretion of Board. Subjudiced cases, if any or those involving RTI / Grievances
may however be retained beyond three months.

(I) Answer the following questions:
1. State mirror formula. How does focal length (f) change when object distance (u) from the
mirror is changed?
2. What is the magnification of the images formed by plane mirrors and why?
OR
The formula for linear magnification of a spherical mirror is m=h’/h = -v/u. What determine the
sign of m? What is the significance of this sign?
3. Draw a labelled ray diagram to show the path of the reflected ray corresponding to an incident
ray of light parallel to the principal axis of a convex mirror. Mark the angle of incidence and
angle of reflection on it.
4. List two possible ways in which a concave mirror can produce a magnified image of an object
placed in front of it. State the difference if any between these two images.
5. Draw the following diagram in which a ray of light is incident on a concave/convex mirror, on
your answer sheet. Show the path of this ray, after reflection, in each case.

6. A small mirror is fitted on the wall of Agra fort to see the full length image of Taj Mahal.
(a) Name the type of mirror used in the above case.
(b) Where will the image be formed by this mirror if object is placed between infinity and pole
of the mirror?
(c) Give one use of convex mirror.
7. Draw the ray diagram in each case to show the position and nature of the image formed when
the object is placed
(i) at the centre of curvature of a concave mirror.
