    1.0 TITLE

    Control Room Operator

    2.0 REPORTING FUNCTION


    Directly reports to Shift Engineer.

    3.0 BASIC FUNCTION

    To assist shift engineer and supervise all operational activities in control room.

    4.0 RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

    4.1 General

    4.1.1 To assist the shift engineer for smooth operation of the plant.

    4.1.2 To synchronize and off load the engine when and where required.

    4.1.3 To isolate the equipment / M/cs for maintenance according to work permit.

    4.1.4 To check and note parameters registered in engine and feeder log books.

    4.1.5 To keep the control room area neat and clean.

    4.1.6 To intimate shift engineer about load variation, abnormalities in system.

    4.1.7 To carry out all checks on engine start up and stopping.

    4.1.8 Any job assigned to him by the Shift Engineer.

    4.2 Administrative

    4.2.1 Nil

    5.0 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

    To qualify as Control Room Oerator either one of the following requirements shall be
    satisfied.

    5.1 D.A.E. (Electrical) with 1-2 years working experience as Trainee/Assistant


    control room operator in a diesel/gas power plant.

    5.2 Matric / F.Sc with 5-8 years working experience as Trainee/Assistant control
    room operator in a diesel/gas power plant.

    6.0 TRAINING NEEDS

    6.1 Training on operational principle of all major equipments.

    6.2 Training for general safety in control room.
