GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES

I. All events are open to all bonafide students of the college enrolled this second semester,
School Year 2023-2024. The competing team shall be represented by the different
colleges. The competing teams shall be identified by their respective colors to wit:

12. All entries shall be submitted on or before March 08, 2024 to the Screening
Committee headed by Mr. Rowel S. Ramos and Mrs. Audrey Millicent H. Aurillas at
Student Affairs Services Office (SASO). Entry with incomplete documents will be
disqualified. Official Entry form shall be accompanied with:

a. Individual medical certificates


b. Parent’s consent
c. List of players with pictures per event in two copies enclosed in separate
folders.
d. Photocopy Updated and Validated School ID

13. A student is allowed to participate a maximum of two (2) events. 1 team event and 1
individual/dual only or two team or individual events. Except for Buhi Campus,
participants cana join in a maximum of three events.
14. Entry forms must be signed by the respective coaches and noted by the faculty
Coordinator endorsed by respective Deans.
15. All players are required to be present during the parade and opening ceremonies of
the 2024 Intramurals in their official team uniform. If they fail to attend the parade,
they would not be allowed to play during the 1st game. Attendance will start at CSPC.
16. No student-participant under the influence of liquor or prohibited drugs is allowed to
play or participate in the event.
17. Players and performers who are not wearing the proper uniform (team T-shirt and its
designated color or appropriate attire) shall not be allowed to play or perform.

Impersonation or students not enrolled in the college/program


composing/representing the team will automatically disqualify the team.
18. Only the faculty and student-named as coaches shall be allowed to do the coaching
job.
19. All players/performers are required to present their school IDs before the start of
every game/event.
20. All Sports Scholars/Varsity Players and performing arts members or any students
who represented the College in the Regional & National SCUAA/PASUC are not
allowed to play/participate in the same events during the 2024 Intramurals.
21. Sports scholars/ Varsity Players are required to assist the officiating officials in their
respective events during the duration of the college Intramurals.
22. In all events, the decision of the referee and judges is final. In case of protest, a
written contesting the result of the game shall be submitted to the adjudication
committee within six (6) hours after the conclusion of the protested game and must
pay Php 5,000.00 for the protest fee.
23. All team coordinators and tournament managers are held responsible for their
assignments/functions. Hence, they are clothed with the authority in the performance
of their task.

Functions of Faculty Coordinator

1. Coordinates with the sports and cultural coordinators on all the concerns and
clarifications of their respective teams.
2. Check all the entry forms of the team.
3. Signs in all entry forms to be submitted to the office of the Sports Coordinator.

Functions of Tournament Manager/Head Master

1. Supervises the whole duration of the event assigned.


2. Implements the General Rules of the Intramurals and specific rules of the games
assigned.
3. Submits and proclaims the winners of the game.

24. The rule of game succession shall be applied in all events.


25. Point system shall be the process of determining the overall champion in each event.

26. The Intramurals Sports and Socio-Cultural Council has the final decision on cases
or matters not covered by the aforementioned ground rules and guidelines.
27. Proper liquidation and financial reports shall be made by the committee’s in-charge.
28. Hiring of trainers in cultural events is discouraged. The members of the performing
arts can be the local trainers in the various events.
29. Violation of the General Rules shall be ground for disqualification on particular
events.
30. All declared winners will automatically represent the college in the Regional &
National Competitions subject to rescreening and deliberation by the committee

4. Intramurals should adopt the general rules to wit; FIBA Rules in Basketball, PAVA Rules
in Volleyball, and PATTA Rules in Table Tennis and other rules from different governing
bodies related to the sport, with certain exceptions specified in the house rule of the
sports.
5. There will be a playoff in case of a tie.
6. The rule of game succession shall be applied in all events.

7. Point system shall be the process of determining the overall champion in each event.
8. For events such as Taekwondo, Arnis and Athletics, there will be a sub-point
system to determine the winner of the event. The Men and women’s category
will be separated in computing for the score. The team that has the most points
will be declared the winner of the event. The Points that will be awarded to the
winning department will be the general point system, not the sub point system.

3. Drawing of lots will be done during the final meeting.


4. All participants must be at the backstage/holding area 30 minutes before the contest.
5. Non-appearance of the contestants who have been called will be considered non-
competing.
6. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.
7. Violation of the General Rules shall be ground for disqualification on particular events.

GUIDELINES FOR THE CONTEST

EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEECH/DAGLIANG TALUMPATI

1. The topic shall be given on the spot by the organizer.


2. The contestant shall be given 4 minutes to prepare and 4 minutes to deliver.
3. The style of the delivery shall be conversational, oratorical, or a combination of both.
4. The contestant should wear his/her school uniform.
5. Use of sound effects and props is not allowed.
6. The Judges’ decision is final.

CRITERIA

3. Pronunciation, enunciation, diction 20%
4. Stage presence (eye contact, poise, personality) 10%

STORY TELLING, PAGKWEKWENTO

1. There shall be four (4) official contest pieces to be selected from Philippine Literature
that shall be provided by the committee/organizer before the competition.
2. All four (4) story pieces must be read and be studied by the contestants within
preparation period.
3. A story piece among all four (4) stories will be drawn by the contestant five minutes after
the ongoing speaker has started his/her delivery.
4. The delivery must be done by a recounting of the original story piece. A minimum of five
(5) minutes and a maximum of (7) minutes of delivery time is given to each contestant.
5. One (1) point shall be deducted from the contestant’s total score for every 30 seconds of
undertime and overtime of his/her delivery.
6. No recorded sound effects, microphone, background, or props are allowed to support
the story.
7. School Uniform is required.
8. The judges’ decision is final.

ESSAY WRITING & PAGSULAT NG SANAYSAY

1. The board of judges shall provide the topic of the essay at the venue of the
competition not related to the theme.
2. Contestants should be wearing school uniform.
3. Essay in English should be written between 600 and 800 words. A deduction of
two (2) points shall be applied when the words used are less than or more than
the prescribed number of words.
4. The contestants shall be given one and a half (1.5) hours to develop the
composition.

5. The competition will be held in a computer laboratory and will be given one
computer set each. They will be encoding their essay using the prescribed format.
6. The prescribed format should be followed:
▪ 8.5 x 11 in. (short)
▪ 1 inch all margin
▪ Font size: 12; Font style: Times New Roman - 1.5 spacing
7. No printed materials, electronic gadgets, or storage devices shall be utilized.
8. The judges’ decision is final.

RADIO DRAMA
Theme: "Breaking Barriers"
-highlights stories centered on individuals challenging societal, personal, and
gender-based obstacles. This theme encourages stories that spotlight the triumphs of
those overcoming gender stereotypes, advocating against gender-based violence,
navigating hurdles in education and employment, and championing intersectional
equality. Through these tales of resilience, this radio drama will showcase the power of
determination and community support in dismantling barriers while emphasizing the
ongoing pursuit of gender equality and inclusivity in Philippine society.

1. Contestant presents an ORIGINAL radio program written by students. The drama is to


be prepared as a presentation over a radio station.
2. No more than five (5) players and/or student technicians may be involved.
3. Contestants may portray more than 5 characters.
4. Contestant will perform the presentation before a panel of judges. BUT the characters
may not be seen by the judges. Voice actor may not memorize the lines.
5. The drama must convey a moral or character-building theme. Specify the audience to
whom the program is being presented.
6. Background music may be used.
7. Copies of script three (3) typed, double-spaced copies must be submitted as an early
entry.
8. The time limit is five (5) minutes minimum and seven (7) maximum. If the competition
piece does not meet the five (5) minutes minimum or exceeds the seven (7) minutes
maximum time limit, the contestant will receive a five-point deduction for any portion of
thirty (30) second increments outside the allotted time.
9. The medium of language to be used will either be English or Filipino or a combination of
two.
10. Three (3) minutes allotted time will be given four the group to set up

Mood created—proper use of dramatics—voice, sounds effects, and edits to create a desired
mood

Voice inflections—voice conveys appropriate mood; adds life/ believability to character


Interest Level consistency—catches listeners attention and hold interest through out
Creativity—overall concept and creative thought resulting in end product

HINTS FROM THE RADIO PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS Remember when presenting your
program:

1. The audience can only hear you, not see your face. ( gestures and facial expressions
are no value, so stress inflections
2. Avoid background distractions such as cracking or shuffling papers, scraping, chairs, or
clearing throat.
3. Make a presentation with a specific audience in mind (children, teens, or adults.
4. Practice until you thoroughly familiar with your script before making a recording in order
to avoid monotones and mechanical expressions.
5. Avoid long pauses or “dead time”, pronounce word clearly, and don’t mumble.
6. Speak into the microphone at the appropriate distance to avoid crackling, distortion, or
breathing sounds.
7. Prepare your script carefully, giving attention to the introduction, body, and conclusion to
the intended” message ” conveyed.
8. Present your radio program so that it comes alive for the listening audience.

POP SOLO

1. The piece is one straight published Original Pilipino Music (OPM song in any language.
Revival or adaptations from the foreign composition is disallowed).
2. Singing shall be accompanied by a minus one tape or CD. Multiplex shall not be
allowed.
3. Delivery is from 3 to 7 minutes.
4. Judges’ decision is final.

VOCAL SOLO (KUNDIMAN)


1. The song shall be one straight KUNDIMAN to be chosen from the following songs
only.

b. Habang Buhay ni Dominador Santiago
c. Kung Hindi Man ni Nicanor Abelardo
d. Nasaan Ka Irog? Ni Narciso Asistio
e. Ugoy ng Duyan ni Levi Celerio

minute.
4. The dance must be accompanied by playing a record, tape-recorded music, or CD
prescribe by the book. Live accompaniments are not allowed.

HIP HOP COMPETITION

1. The contest piece must be three (3) minutes but not more than five (5) minutes.
2. A maximum of ten (10) and a minimum of six (6) dancers are allowed to participate.
3. Group should include in their performance a broad selection of street dance styles
without excessive use of the same move or patterns. A varied range of styles should be
shown in the choreography of arm, leg, and body movement.
4. Attire includes accessories such as hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelry, etc. Removing
pieces of clothing during the performance is allowed provided it is not offensive or out of
character. Appropriate clothing should be observed in the competition.
5. Movements that are categorized under break dance are permitted, but should not
control/dominate the performance.
6. No aerial skills.
7. Set of props or backdrop is not allowed.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE

1. The contest piece must be at least three (3) minutes but not more than five (5) minutes.
2. A maximum of eight (8) and a minimum of six (6) dancers are allowed to participate.
3. The dance piece should be original choreography in neo-classical/ contemporary form.
4. Soft ballet shoes or pointe shoes may be worn (optional).
5. Sets are not allowed (e.g., riser, backdrop, tables, etc.). Hand props may be used (e.g.,
stick, fan, ring, umbrella, etc.). Bamboo, wood, steel, or plastic pole may be used but
must not be more than 3 meters long.
The following are not strictly allowed in the performance:

A. The use of real fighting armour (e.g. sword, knife, guns, arrow, spears, etc.).
B. The use of any form of liquid (e.g. blood oil, water, etc.)
C. The use of fire, candles, and any pyrotechnic materials.
D. Breaking of glass, pots, etc….
6. Costume must be appropriate to the concept of the dance. Nudity is strictly prohibited.
7. Obscene choreography/ indecent movements and killing of animals is strictly prohibited.

minutes. Teams who go beyond or fall short based on the time provided will be

penalized. Less than 4 minutes will be 2 points deduction and every 30 seconds

pyramid-building, lifting, tossing, tumbling, and other complicated stunts are not allowed.
6. The use of mini trampolines, springboards, pyro technique/fire, and other height-
increasing apparatus are prohibited.
7. The decision of judges is final and non-appealable.
8. Any team proven in violation of the rules & regulations will be automatically disqualified
from the event.

Difficult - 5 points (60 seconds)
Clincher – 7 points (80 seconds)
3. There will be 10 questions per round. In case of a tie, tie-breaking questions will be given.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:
 Each College should have five (5)members only (five actual members on game and one
reserve). The team will need to follow the safety protocols and qualifications before the
game.
 The team should pick their own leader or team captain, members are not allowed to
battle in two or more squads. Team members can be from different course/year/section
but same department.
 Teams are prohibited to replace any of the registered players including the reserved
player throughout the event.
 All participating members should not interchange names between other squad members
as well as not to leave during the game.

3. All players must only use their own game account to take part in matches.
1. Game accounts used must match those they registered with.
4. The team on the top of the bracket will have the choice for which side they play.
For the Best-of-Three series, a coin toss will be made. The winner of the coin
toss will choose the side they play on the first game of the Best-of-Three series.
The other team will choose their side in the second game. Coin Toss again to
determine side priority should they play a third game.
5. Top 1 Team will move to the Playoffs to represent their department.
