I. OBJECTIVES At the of lesson the learners are expected to ;
 The learners will describe the nature and background of the
dance;
 The learners will execute the skills involve in the dance;
 The learners will perform one local festival dance within region 9.
A. Content Standard Learners demonstrates understanding guidelines and principles in
exercise program design to achieve personal fitness.
B. Performance Standard Modifies the individualized exercise program to achieve personal
fitness.
C. Learning Competency a.Identify festival dances and its kinds celebrated all over the country.

 Play a vedio / show picture

= Who among you here had experience of dancing festival dance.

Festival dances are cultural dances perform to the strong beats of


percussion instruments by community of people with the same culture
usually done in honor of a patron Saint or thanksgiving for a bountiful
harvest.

Festival dance also may be religious or secular in nature.

INTEGRATION Group Activity# 1


Divide the class into two groups.
Each group will identify the following festival dance either religious or
non-religious.
Activity#2
Each group will perform some of the basic steps in festival dance.
1. Step close ( forward, sideward) 16 cts.
2. Step point ( R/L alternately) 16 cts.
3. 4 walking steps forward and backward alternately) 16 cts.
Activity#
With the use of basic dance steps in festival dance, create a 2-3
minutes of dance accompanied with the beat.

V. Evaluation Answer the following question:


1. What is festival dance?
2. What is the reason why we celebrates festival dance?
3. Enumerate at least 5 festival dances we had discuss earlier.

VI. Assignment Research some local festival dance here in region 9.
