I want you to form a line. The person (Each group receives yarn)
who holds the yarn represents the
sun and starts the food chain and
will pass the yarn to someone (Everyone forms a line)
behind. The second person should
name an organism that uses energy
from the sun and then passes the
yarn to create a food chain until

everyone has contributed.
Is everyone ready?
Yes, ma’am.
B. Establishing a Now that we are done with the activity,
purpose for the
lesson
how do you feel about it?
Based on the activity we had, how do (Student’s answers may vary)
you identify the components of a food
chain in an ecosystem?
(Student’s answers may vary)
Where does the chain start?
No Ma’am!
Yes, that’s true. What the producer
gets DIRECTLY from the sun though
helps for the survival of all organisms
and is altered at each stop. This
means that at some point it changes.
How about Reported Speech? Kindly When we want to report what someone
read. Allyssa. said, we do not use quotation marks. We
report what they say, but we don't use
their exact words. This is called
REPORTED SPEECH or INDIRECT
SPEECH.
Kindly read the example. Cris.
For example:
Andrea said the novel was really
interesting.
Thank you! So, what is/are the words
that have changed from the Direct
speech?
Ma’am was.
Very good!

(We need to change the POSSESSIVE
word.)
Tense Shift
When we report what someone else has
said, we are giving the information later.
They said something earlier, and we are
reporting it now. Because we are giving
the information later, we need to change
the tense in the original statement so
that it makes sense. We "back-step" with
the verb tense.
For example:
If the statement was made in the simple
present, we report it in the simple past:
"I am really tired," she said.
She said she was really tired.
