Introduction

With many more problems of the environment such as environmental conservation, climate changes,
pollution, and depletion of nature being the hot topic today, the need arises to touch on this in many
education facilities, especially for students. More acquaintance and more vision of the environment at
the town program level at the local school door are the way to the attainment of more knowledge in this
area. (repharaseMost of the programs that focused on environmental education in schools looked into
how the schools could be a reference point in matters to do with the environment and in preparing the
students to become responsible members of society in the management of the environment so that in
actual, these school-based environmental education programs intend to "equip the learners with the
skills and knowledge to understand and protect the environment".

As reported by Reyes et al. (2014), "the attitudinal dimensions, trends, and strong predictors of public
and private behavior in the Philippines for the past two decades have shown little movement if not
dropped; as seen from the data provided in the environment modules of the International Social Survey
Program for 1993, 2000, and 2010." The same variables that have come to be found again and again to
predict negative attitudes have been isolated here: perceptions of certain environmental problems and
fatalism. According to the study, it has been observed that environmental-based behaviors among
Filipinos have not improved for the last two decades. The study also made out the important indicators
as educating one to drive less, signing petitions, donating money, joining groups, and participating in
public protests for the environment.

"Awareness and Practices in Green Technology of Students" by Gonzaga (2016) presents a description of
and types of cement through analysis of the level of knowledge of and practice in green technology by a
sample of students holding bachelor’s in education at the Normal University of Visayas, Philippines.
Relation of Demographic and Personal Characteristics of the Selected Respondents to the Main Study
Variable

From the selected respondent, in this study, the participants show a moderate level of awareness, while
the participants show low in green technology practices. The responses have a relationship between the
level of awareness and the practices obtained. This paper therefore recommends that the findings give
an urge to come above board and come up with a thoroughgoing program that juxtaposes the concepts
and applications for embracing green technology in college education fully. This will engage the activity
of the students in the advocacy of environmental sustainability.

On this same note, Marpa and Juele in the product entitled "Environmental Awareness and Practices of
High School Students: Basis for Disaster Preparedness Program," indicated that the impacts to the
societies in order to be enlightened had to be traced down to issues like climate change, global warming,
depletion of the ozone layer, pollution, extinction of certain specified species, including the
desertification, and that the occurrence of the worst disasters in the world. The people are then stress-
stricken by this sudden change in the weather. The United States heats the world, as it demolishes
oceans and other bodies of water, meaning to say, the inhabitants of the world and our mother Earth are
reeling now because of unsoundness in Earth and waste management.

This paper addressed the problem of studying environmental awareness and practice among high school
students. The moment of truth in pregnancy education is well addressed. A lot of prenatal education and
counseling is involved, with a focus on healthy habits and counseling for environmental conditions. The
research centered on the problem leads to a reason for low potency by some authors. In this light,
recommendable directives are given to mitigate the problem.

Accordingly, Grimmette (2014) recognized that the effects of environmental problems on the youth
suggested: in that research, two-question messages resulted in substantial positive endorsement
messages to train the youth in the environmental idea education program message, such as
environmental awareness creating an association to the environment, moving the minds of the youths,
and the opinions of the environment b.) significant positive impacts while environmental education
resulted in a significant negative. The curriculum, down with the summer camp, three programs the kids
shall be involved in human influence on the water cycle, time to disburse everything for mending the
problems coming up in nature, and the importance that animals hold for human beings.

Lastly, discussion on how such environmental studies should be included in the entire curriculum of all
schools and schooling levels will help gain undue influence in the understanding, practices, and attitudes
of the students on the protection of the environment. Proper teaching of the environment will go a long
way to help the students since it would help in distinguishing leading signs on how to exercise
environmental sustainability and conservation (Raman, 2016).

In other words, the study meant to identify the level of environmental awareness and level of
environmental practices towards the environmental issues among the participants, as well as associating
the level of awareness and possible extent of practice based on the four environmental themes
mentioned to build a basis of the proposed environmental education program in the school.

In the age of globalization, individuals encounter numerous social challenges and dilemmas within
their surroundings. This emphasizes Rogayan's (2019) assertion that the Earth is currently suffering
from afflictions primarily caused by human activities. It is imperative for everyone to address this
challenge actively and collectively strive towards a shared goal: the preservation of life on our planet.
