On my first day, Monday, I began by receiving the initial information about the SHINE
program and the milestones and measures that we hope to achieve throughout implementation.
My supervisor, Dr. Damian Francis, reviewed his expectations for me in my position for the first
week. I began studying the material and the examples of food safety guidelines for federal

to create a finalized list of people to invite. I also began to plan the material for our stakeholder
meeting. This was a very successful first week! I am so excited about this internship and feel like
it is an excellent match for my skills and potential. I am looking forward to what I will be able to
