Walk-in interview for engagement of Professor, Associate Professor & Assistant Professor on
contract basis for a period of One year (extendable up to Three years) in ESIC Medical College and
Hospital, Kalaburagi will be conducted on 26.03.2024 (Document Verification) and 27.03.2024
(Interview) at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Kalaburagi.
Details of Vacancies
1. Post: Professor
Reservation of Person with Benchmark Disability (PWD) will be as per prevailing guidelines of
Government of India. In case candidates in these categories are not available, then the
vacancies will be filled from the panel of candidates who attend the walk-in-interview in view
of essential services of the Medical College and for fulfillment of NMC Norms.
NOTE:
1. In case of Non-availability of candidates for faculty positions in a particular reserved category, the
available meritorious candidate may be given offer of engagement for a period of 44 days at the
sole discretion of the Appointing Authority.
2. Number of vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease depending on actual number of
Vacancies without any intimation.
3. ESIC reserves right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage at its discretion and such decision
will be binding on all concerned.
4. Candidates intending to apply for multiple cadres may submit separate applications including fee.
5. Candidates applying in OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PWD Category must possess the certificate issued by
competent authority, valid for appointment in Central Govt. Institutions issued before the date of
interview, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to appear in interview for the reserved
category. However, he/she can be treated as UR Candidate.
6. Candidates claiming reservation on grounds of OBC should submit the community certificate in
updated original, as prescribed vide Govt. of India, Dept. of personnel and training O.M No
36036/2/2013 Estt. (Res.) dated 30.05.2014 failing which benefits of reservation will not be given
and their application shall be rejected. Certificate issued in other format will not be accepted and
candidate will be treated as general category for all purpose (format enclosed).
b) The consolidated remuneration under “SRESTA” Scheme for retired Army Doctors
(Teaching – Broad Specialty) who meet the eligibility criteria for Faculty posts is as

experience is 3 years or more.

Associate Professor-(Consultant) under 6 years.
Rs. 1.88 Lakhs, if the post-PG teaching
experience is 6 years or more.
Rs. 1.88 Lakhs, if the post-PG teaching
experience is under 9 years.
Professor-(Consultant) Rs. 2.0 Lakhs, if the post-PG teaching
experience is 9 years to under 13 years.
Rs. 2.2 lakh, if post-PG teaching experience
is 13 years or more.
c) In addition to the above no other allowances like D.A, N.P.A, HRA etc. would be payable.
d) No Private Practice is allowed during the tenure of service in ESIC.
e) Retirees from Central/State Govt./PSU from the equivalent posts are eligible to apply. Persons
working in recognized / approved private Medical Institutions fulfilling eligibility criteria
for the post may also apply.
8. TERMS OF CONTRACT:
a) Selected candidates shall be appointed purely on contractual basis for a period of one year, which may be
extended for another one/two years on satisfactory performance subjected to approval of the Competent
Authority. The contract would be terminated in case regular incumbent joins.
b) The contractual engagement can be terminated/discontinued on either side after giving one-month notice.
c) Barring serious misconduct/irregularity, continuation of the incumbent would be based on satisfactory
annual appraisal and approval of the Competent Authority. Other terms and condition will be applicable as
issued by competent authority from time to time.
d) This being One-year contract, absence for period beyond 15 days without prior permission/approval of
Competent Authority will be treated as abandonment of duty and the contract will be terminated without any
notice and security deposit will be forfeited.
e) The absence from work for a period of fifteen days without proper permission of the competent authority will
amount to voluntary abandonment of engagement and automatic termination. The Medical Officers are
required to mark attendance manually as well as on Aadhar Enabled Bio- metric Attendance System
(AEBAS) daily during scheduled working days.
f) On selection, candidate has to open an SB Account in the State Bank of India (Any branches) [This is
applicable to cases where SB account is not held in State Bank of India].
g) The Teaching Faculty so engaged will be required to enter into a contractual agreement for the purpose on a
stamp paper of Rs.500/-
h) Selected candidates will have no claim for regularization of services in ESIC Hospital/Medical Institution.
i) The appointment is subject to Medical Fitness.
j) Official selected will be required to submit acceptance/consent letter in writing before appearing for medical
examination.
k) The doctors at any time found guilty of any gross misconduct or negligence of his/her duties shall be
terminated without any notice or payment in lieu of notice period.
l) Selected candidates have to report for joining within the date indicated in the offer of appointment to be
issued after release of results, failing which the offer will be treated as cancelled.
m) Official has to wear his/her own white coat with name badge during the duty hours.
9. CAUTION DEPOSIT:

a) He/ She will be required to deposit a Security Deposit of above mentioned amount for the post mentioned
through Demand Draft in favor of ESI Corporation payable at Kalaburagi at the time of joining which is
refundable after completion of contract period and production of “No Dues Certificate”.
b) The Caution Deposit will be appropriated towards the ESI Fund in case the appointed candidate terminates
his/her contract within six (06) months of the date of reporting towards Administrative cost.
“No photocopies will be arranged/ provided by the office under any circumstances.”
General Instructions:
(i) Mere submission of application does not confer any right to the candidate to be eligible for interview unless
they report on the scheduled date and time.
(ii) Application should be submitted in the prescribed format only. The applications submitted in any other
format OR incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.
(iii) The candidates may ascertain their eligibility and report for interview on the scheduled date and time for
interview. Candidates reporting after scheduled time will not be allowed to attend the interview process.
(iv) Wrong declarations/submission of false information or any other action contrary to law shall lead to
cancellation of the candidature at any stage in addition to suitable legal action.
(v) Opportunity for appearing in the interview given to the candidates is purely on provisional. Joining of the
candidates will be subject to detailed scrutiny of eligibility conditions/production of prescribed certificates in
case of reservation.
(vi) On the day of Walk-in-Interview, the candidates should produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) from
present employer.
(vii) Equivalent Teaching Experience Certificate issued by DGAFMS for retired Army Medical
Teachers at the time of Interview.
(viii) The candidates who have applied for higher post may opt for lower post during the interview in the
same department.
(ix) The interview shall be conducted at the Office of the Dean, ESIC Medical College, Kalaburagi. However,
ESIC reserves the right to change the venue and dates, if needed.
(x) Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
(xi) Rules of reservation will be implemented as per Government of India‟s instructions.
(xii) No TA/DA will be admissible for interview or joining.
(xiii) No claim for any services like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical allowances, Seniority, Promotion and
Leave will be admissible.
(xiv)Teaching faculty is eligible for only One (01) day leave per month on pro-rota basis. Further, first leave can
be availed only after completion of one month.
12. CRITERIA OF INCOME & ASSETS (For Economically Weaker Section or EWS)
Persons who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs and whose family
has gross annual income below Rs.8.00 Lakh (Rupees Eight Lakh only) are to be identified as EWSs for the
benefit of reservation. Income shall also include income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business,
profession, etc. for the financial year prior to the year of application.
Also persons whose family owns or possesses any of the following assets shall be excluded from being
identified as EWS, irrespective of the family income: -
I. 5 acres of agricultural land and above;
II. Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above;
III. Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities;
IV. Residential plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the notified municipalities.
The property held by a “Family” in different locations or different places/cities would be clubbed while
applying the land or property holding test to determine EWS status.
The term “Family” for this purpose will include the person who seeks benefit or reservation, his/her parents
and siblings below the age of 18 years as also his/her spouse and children below the age of 18 years.
