    Hook size: F (3.75mm)
    Cut yarn, pull through st on needle and
    Yarn: worsted (~15 yards for main color, scrap weave in ends.

    Finished measurements: 4.5in (11cm) across

    Main body Ch1. *2dc, ch1, 2dc in next st* rep between **
    2 more times. Ss in next st.
    Note: round 1 is the only round and the rest
    of the project is worked in rows. Each ch3 Cut yarn, pull through st on needle and
    counts as a dc. weave in all ends.

    Using the magic circle method, ch3 and add Beak


    11dc to ring. Ss into top of ch3. With right side facing, join yellow yarn at last
    Round 1: ch3. Dc in same st as last ss. 2dc in sc of 5th sc in last row of main body. See next
    each st around. Ss into top of ch3. (24sts) page for guidance.

    Row 2: ch3. *2dc in next st. Dc in next st.* rep Ch1. Sc in next 2sts. Turn work.
    between ** 8 more times. Dc into next 2sts. Sc2tog next 2sts.
    Turn work. (30sts, 3 sts unworked)
    Cut yarn, pull through st on needle and
    (Next row worked in front loops only!) weave in all ends.
    Row 3: ch3. 1dc in next st. *2dc in next st. Dc Hanger (optional)
    in next 2sts.* rep between ** 8 more times.
    Dc in next st. Dc in top of ch3 of last row. Turn With wrong side of work facing you, join main
    work. (40sts) color yarn at middle unworked st of row 2.

    Abbreviations Hint!
    Ch = chain Weaving in
    Sc = single crochet ends with very
    Dc = double crochet
    small parts like the
    Ss = slip stitch
    Sk = skip wattle, comb and beak
    St(s) = stitch(es) can be tricky. Try
    Rep = repeat weaving underneath the
    Sc2tog = single crochet next 2sts together
    dc sts in the shells on
    the wrong side of
    the work.
