NOTICE
Reference is invited to the important Notice dated 19.02.2024 through which it had been
informed that the new website (https://ssc.gov.in/) of the Commission has been made live w.e.f.
17.02.2024. It was also informed that the existing website (https://ssc.nic.in/) shall continue to be
accessible.
2. All the candidates are informed that the Notices for the various examinations conducted by the
Commission shall henceforth be published on the new website only. Accordingly, the applications in
response to these Notices will also be accepted on the new website only. All the candidates who wish to
apply in response to these Notices will be required to generate their One Time Registration (OTR) on the
new website as the old OTR will not be functional for the new website. Subsequent to OTR, the
candidates can proceed to fill the applications for the examinations they wish to apply. Once an OTR has
been generated on the new website, it will continue to remain valid for all the examinations to be applied
for on the new website.
3. It is clarified that the OTR generated earlier by the candidates on the old website shall continue to
remain valid for accessing various functionalities, if required, on the old website. That OTR, however,
will not work for the new website and the candidates will have to generate a fresh one on the new
website.
4. The application module which would be used in the Notices to be published on the new website
will have a provision of capturing of live photographs of the candidates. This is a change from the earlier
dispensation wherein the candidates were required to upload a photograph already captured. In the new
application module, live photographs of the candidates will be captured for which either a webcam on
computer/laptop or an android device can be used. The candidates should exercise due care while taking
their photograph. The following instructions should particularly be kept in mind:
a) Find a place with good light and plain background.
b) Ensure the camera is at eye level before taking the photo.
c) Position yourself directly in front of the webcam and look straight ahead.
d) Candidates shouldn’t wear a cap, mask or glasses / spectacles while taking a live
photo.
