A. Review the minutes of the previous meeting


A motion to approve the minutes of Meeting II was made by Ms. Hung Kit and seconded by Ms.
Yu Sau Yee Judy.

2.1 Major Concern I: Cultivating students with faithfulness, persistence and gratitude by
learning from the bible
2.1.1 P.4-P.6: Students quoted the bible verse, motto or proverbs in their writing as the lesson
learnt.

b) Process drama:
- All levels have applied the process drama elements in the lessons in 2 nd
Term. Mr. Bendie has conducted an open lesson (Class 6A) for subject
teachers on 17 February. Advisory Teacher Simon Abbott from EDB has been
invited to join the lessons demonstration using Process Drama techniques for
Alice in Wonderland Revision lesson. The topics for each level are as follow:

d) e-learning
- An e-learning workshop was held by Educational Publisher on 31 May 2023.
e) Sharing session
- Ms. Hui Man Ying Karen has conducted an open lesson (Class 3B) on 5
May 2023 and all teachers are invited to watch the lesson. The topic was
Unit 4 Let’s Go Green!

- All teachers would do sharing at the end of this meeting. Topics are as

2.2.2 Teachers used diversified media (such as Nearpod, Kahoot!) for teaching to cater
students’ learning diversity, stimulate students’ interest in learning and enhance
students’ learning effectiveness.

2.3 Major Concern III: Creating reading atmosphere on campus to enhance students’ reading
abilities
2.3.1 Cross-curricular Reading:
P.1 Cross-curricular Reading has finished in March. Evaluation has also been done. All
level teachers agreed that this would be carried on next year.
2.3.2 NET and ELTAs did the English booking sharing in the school library every
Tuesday in the 2nd term.

3. ECA
a) Hong Kong School Drama Festival
- Hong Kong School Drama Festival was held online on 22 Feb 2023. 16 students were in the
competition. Six of them got the Outstanding Award. The list is as follow:

The judges commented that the students demonstrated a high level of cooperation. To take the
show to a higher level, they recommended that we should use virtual background, costumes,
props, music/sound effects.

b) Tell a Tale Story Telling Competition


- 16 P.3-6 students have joined the Tell a Tale Story Telling Competition on 28 Apr 2023. There
are three students admitted to the final round in July. They are 2B Yau Oi Shui Hannah, 4B
Wong Hayden and 5B Choi Man Hei.

c) ‘Good People Good Deed’ writing competition


- 9 students have joined ‘Good People Good Deed’ writing competition in Apr 2023. The result
is not yet announced.

d) Puppetry Competition
- 5 students have joined the Puppetry Competition in May 2023. The list is as follows:

e) Hong Kong Budding Poets (English) Award (HKBPA) 2022/23


- 16 students joined the Hong Kong Budding Poets (English) Award (HKBPA) 2022/23. 4B
Wong Hayden was the awardee and he is invited to join the prize presentation ceremony.

4. Teaching materials
3.1 Level coordinators should check the soft copy of a) co-plan record, b) SOW, C) WS,
d) PPT (both google drive and school server) – on or before 6 July
3.2 All teachers should return the bookstand and can keep or dispose the follow materials: a) TB,
b) WB, c) GR, d) Listening and Speaking, e) Reading and f) Teacher’s guide.

C. Discussion & Evaluation


1. Listening Exam
- The new time limits of the listening exam for each level are as follows:
P.1-2 (15-20 minutes); P.3-4 (21-25 minutes); P.5-6 (25-30 minutes)
2. Types of Homework
- The English Panel suggested the use of Grammar Book to substitute the use of grammar WS
in the 2nd term of the coming school year. All teachers should discuss it in the co-plan meeting
and level coordinators should collect the ideas and pass them to Vally.
3. Assignment Inspection
- Writing pieces have been collected for assignment inspection. Most teachers marked the
assignment carefully. Some students lost some of their writing pieces, so one more folder will be
ordered in the coming school year. Teachers should remind students to keep their writing pieces
properly in the folder.
4. TSA Report and Analysis
a) TSA training
- P3: Level teachers have explained the procedures and skills of speaking in diversified activity
lessons. Students completed two sets of past paper.
- P6: Level teachers arranged two speaking training sessions for students. Students did one full
set of listening and reading and writing past paper.
b) Analysis
- P3: Students should be trained to answer the questions in complete sentences. Teachers are
suggested to make it as a daily routine for students in each class.
- P6: Students were not able to give a complete presentation. They turned to give the answers
sentence by sentence without coherence.
5. Year Plan of 2023-2024 (ECA)
- Teachers can give their suggestions to Vally after the meeting.
6. Theme for 2023-2024 Cross-curricular Reading
- The theme for upcoming year will be persistence. Each level should suggest a book and give the
book name to Vally.
7. Teaching Handbook Update
- The time limit for listening exam is updated.
8. Highlights of English Curriculum 2023-2024 (SPARK)
- Teachers are suggested to refer to the highlights of English Curriculum 2023-2024 (SPARK) on
the school website.
9. Summer Holiday Homework for P.1-5
- Each level should have the summer holiday homework ready for students and hand out to them
on 5 July 2023.
