A. Reviewing previous lesson or PRELIMINARIES
Priming activity of the new lesson * Greet the pupils by saying, “Good morning children, how are you today? I hope everyone is in

One way of sanitizing ourselves is washing our hands.

Very good! What is it that we need to follow to properly do/execute something?
Very good! Today we will learn how to effectively follow directions with the use of signal words.

C. Presenting examples/instances of Now let’s see if you really know the proper way of washing your hands. Let’s do this Activity. I

words. Signal words introduce the steps in a process or sequence of events.
Signal words are used to follow the directions in their correct order. These are the words that
signal the next step to follow. Directions may be given in doing something, how to make simple
things or activity, how to use things or objects and how to find places. Directions are guides. Once
followed properly they give positive results. Signal words are also called sequence words. They
are used in giving 3-5 steps directions. Take note that in writing directions using signal words,
always put comma (,) after each signal word you use.

Write the appropriate signal word in the space provided in each number. Follow the procedure to
have a paper collage as your group output. (Integration of MAPEH-Arts)
The Food Bloggers
Complete the procedure on how to make a lemon juice by putting appropriate signal words. Take a
video while performing the activity and post it as your content in your food blog.

Let them present their output and rate them according to the performance rubrics for this activity.
Let other groups also rate the other group’s performance.
