Why antrochoanal polyp is backward?
Ans: 1. Direction of maxillary sinus is backward
2. Sloping of nasal cavity is backward
3. Nasociliary clearance is backward
4. Inspiratory force is greater than expiratory

Tonsils
Well preserved specimen which are two in number, almond shaped. One side has capsule and
other side (medial side) has crypts
So it is a post operative specimen of tonsils (chronic parenchymatous tonsil since big)

Maggots
Well preserved soft tissue specimen multiple in number, serrated body, light brown in colour
and tapered in both ends seems to be specimen of maggots (larval stage)
Cause- 1. Atrophic rhinitis
2. Unsafe CSOM
3. Neglected ill maintained tracheostomy wound
4. Ulcerated and necrotizing neck in debilitating patient
Foul smelling, tissue destruction, have tendency to go inside
Symptoms: Irritation, pain
