The Silver Trumpets

To Keep Rank With A Perfect Heart

Pastor Malcolm Wano

Preached at Shekinah Glory Tabernacle,

Moerewa, New Zealand

23 January 2022 am

Amen. Praise Your Name Lord. Hallelujah. Thank You Jesus.

That’s our desire oh God, is that You would lead us and we would follow. That’s always been our
desire Lord, is that we could hear the clear sounding of Your Word. We know Lord that we need
the filter between the speaker and the hearer. The Word that was sent by inspiration to men that
were filled with the Holy Ghost. They began to take pen and write those things that they were
inspired to write. (2 Peter 1:21) It will take the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit to open the Word. It
will take that same Holy Spirit to reveal it.

Then we’re not reliant Lord on the articulation of man, of the way that we can study the theory and
can put things together to paint a certain picture. We’re not reliant on some lecturer that can make
it clear. We are reliant upon You oh God to come and open up Your Word. We are reliant oh God
on how we have prepared ourselves for You to come. The onus is not on the preacher, but on our
preparation for service.

Lord, as much as we give and as much as we can prepare, even as Lord, You have shown us
down through the scriptures; if we would walk, oh God in Your ordinances and Your covenants; if
we would meditate on Your Word day and night. If we would pray and seek God, then You would
come. You would reveal. You would make Yourself known, oh God.

So blessings Lord were totally reliant upon the people. How they conducted themselves would
allow the benefits of the former rain and latter rain to fall, because that land oh God was a spiritual
land. It was no natural land like Egypt but a spiritual land with spiritual promises.

We see when the Babylonians tried to come in to that land, they didn’t know the God of that land
and the elements took their toll upon those Babylonians. Many perished; animals ravished them.
Drought came, earthquakes in divers places. Then when they try to hire a priest that would teach
them the ways of God, a hireling prophet who couldn’t break down that Word, couldn’t understand
it, because mental knowledge can never do that; then Lord, You go and pick up some humble
shepherd, some man that You raised in the caves, but had a burning desire to know You.

That man may not have been to Bible school, but he could stomp out of the wilderness, like the
prophet of Tekoa, Amos (Amos 1:1) and he could set his eyes upon the lights of those cities of
Tekoa and feel that righteous indignation, as he saw those Babylonian parties, the idols and all of
those high places. He could see why it was that the former rain wasn’t falling and the latter rain
wasn’t falling. I think Lord, it’s come to a time and season like that again.
When I see Lord how blessed Your Bride is, even in a time of trouble, it shows us oh God, the
importance of staying in tune with the Great Conductor. It shows that Lord, there is still that
supernatural place that we can come into. It’s not reliant oh God on the circumstances, mandates
and dictates of society. It’s totally reliant on our behaviour, in Your presence and out of Your
presence. A consistency oh God of our love and our desire for You. To know more of You. The
more we know about Your Word Lord, the more we know about ourselves. We begin to see oh
God, not boundaries, but the possibilities of what we can raise up to; what we can fulfil in a time
like this.

So we would ask oh God, that You would come. Meet the needs of Your people. We’ve all got Lord
desires, requests that we have brought before Your Mercy Seat. Interceding on behalf of others.
Meditating upon Your Word and wanting some clarity of certain things. I pray Lord God, as those
thoughts that would formulate in our hearts, that by Your Word they become clearer. So clear oh
God, that those trumpets could give a certain sound and we would know Lord the surety. We would
know Lord, that the lights in the Urim Thummim have flashed and we could walk oh God, with
confidence but humility, love and respect. Hallelujah. Then we could look forward Lord to the
promise of the desire of our hearts being met.

To You be all the praise and the glory. The words oh God that we would meditate on; the things
that we would study this morning, Lord open up our eyes to the wonders of Your Word.

Receive Lord the fruit of our lips, our praise and worship, that an atmosphere oh God might be
created, where the presence of the Lord would be so free to come and dwell. I know Lord many
places, even in our own community, You’re not welcome. Many homes, You’re not welcome, but
we welcome You, Jehovah Jireh. We welcome You into our abode oh God, into the Shekinah
Glory Tabernacle, but most of all into our hearts. That’s our desire Lord. All of the pre-service is our
powhiri [Maori word for welcome] to You Lord.

As we welcome You to come oh God and speak, we say, “We will hear Lord.” Hallelujah. You are
welcome Lord. Blessed be Your wonderful Name.

We commit ourselves into Your hands for service Lord. Speak and we will follow. Just a command
from You Lord would motivate us. Then Lord, even that occasional smile, that we might know that
we are walking in Your will. Maybe Lord, just a little ruffle on the back of our heads, just to know
You are pleased. Blessed be Your wonderful Name.

Have Your way with us this morning Lord we pray. I ask all of these things, giving You the thanks
and the praise, in the wonderful Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen and amen.
Thank You Jesus.

Amen. God bless you brethren. Praise the Lord. Wonderful to be in the House of the Lord this
morning, amen, listening to the songs of praise and worship. New songs, praise the Lord. Fruit
coming forth from the Promised Land.

I wonder if while we are standing we can turn in our Bibles to the book of Judges. You know we’ve
been looking at a lot of things of late, especially to do with being able to keep rank with a perfect
heart.

God bless you, brethren, out there, in Zoomland. Praise the Lord. It's good to come and fellowship
again this morning by God's grace.
Looking at the book of Judges. The key to the book of Judges was of course every man was right
in his own eyes. (Judges 21:25) I wonder if that's coming to the fore again in this hour.
Everybody's got a theory. Everybody's got an opinion. You get those opinions of the things of this
world virtually shoved down your throat until you get sick of hearing them.
Every man is right in their own eyes. But thank God we have a Word that reveals Himself, makes
Himself known so that we can walk in His Word. It's always been a blessing to me.

I want to go to Judges chapter 7. I want to use this scripture to show you how the Lord chooses the
soldiers that would fulfill His purpose. Remember when we see something in the patterns of the
scripture, then we would be able to walk in that and fulfill that. He sets His patterns and He's the
same yesterday, today and forever. This portion from Judges chapter 7, verse 2 is speaking about
Gideon and how that the Lord was choosing the ranks to defeat a far superior army of invaders. (In
numbers I'm talking.)

The way He was choosing… Remember the choosing was His. If you've been chosen in a time like
this, He's chosen you for a purpose. He's chosen you because you are a vessel that He had in
mind that would stand in a day like this. So let's pick up Judges chapter 7, verse 2.

Judges Chapter 7, Verse 2.

2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the
Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath
saved me.

It's easy to do. If you've got similar numbers, you can put that down to your own strength, your own
might, all of these things. The Lord says there's too many. In other words, ‘I ain’t going to share My
glory with you all. This is to let you know that when I’m in your midst I’m your Protection. I’m your
guide. I’m your Leader.’ Now watch what He does.

The army is quite big. There's a lot that are called. Many are called but few are chosen. (Matthew
22:14)

3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid,
let him return and depart early from mount Gilead.

So he's got to go with that message. He's got to share the Word of the Lord with the people.

You know that's not something that would just happen overnight, because the people are all over
various parts of the land. He's got to get that message out. But He's saying, “Whoever is fearful
and afraid...” And look at the hour that we're living in. Men's hearts are failing them for fear. (Luke
21:26) What the Lord is saying is, “I don't want any fragments of fear among us.” There’s got to be
no fear. You've got to be built up in faith. There's no policies of fear in God's army. This has got
nothing to do with fear.

Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead.
Think about this. There's all sorts of different fears.

There's fears of a far greater army in numbers. There's fears of the unknown. There's fears of
failure. You know that's a big fear. There's all sorts of different types of fear. There’s fear of
unbelief. There’s fear of exposure. All of these things are fears. When a person looked at
themselves... You know there's a fear that comes through condemnation? Sure. That fear can
desensitize us.
There's a fear that brings nervousness and makes people talk to cover that fear, because they try
to camouflage the fear. Some express their fear and they're all fidgety. Some are like drumming
their fingers on the table. Other ones are biting, chewing their nails. That's an outward expression
of fear. Some hide their fear in silence.

Come on. We're talking about something the Lord is saying, “We don't need that in the ranks.” But
He's also got to bring us and show us something to get rid of it and that's faith in God's Word.
That's what gets rid of fear is faith in God's Word because faith is the opposite of fear. But it's not
faith in our own might and strength. It's faith in the Lord. It's faith in His Word. It's faith to know that
He is faithful and will fulfill his promises.

Whosoever is fearful and afraid let him return...

Now I can imagine those that had assembled and they had seen the army that was up against
them. There would have been those that were standing behind the sacred desk and their knees
were knocking. Or the first time they've had to sing in front of the congregation and they had the
wiris [Maori word for the shakes.] The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10)
That is a reverence.

Have you ever felt like, “I wanna pray, but I'm afraid I might say it wrong?” Just when that thought
comes, the old foot and mouth disease comes. This is the importance of quietening yourself
beforehand, getting yourself out of the way so He can come and speak through you. “Lord, let
them not see me.” And all you're doing is seeing you! But He knows because He doesn't judge on
the outward expression. He judges on the heart. He sees your heart. He sees your heart
condition.

So when He put out that proclamation, there's a lot that were in the ranks that were saying, “Phew.
This is my out.” And there was a lot that was happy to be out. There was a lot that were there that
were reluctant. They didn't really want to be there. You imagine. Here’s a trained army over here,
trained in human psychology, right? Trained in certain tactics. Trained in scientific ways. Trained to
bring a propaganda war before the actual fight. This is what we're up against isn’t it? That caused
the people to tremble. But there were others in the ranks that Ezra had spoken about; those that
trembled at the Word. (Ezra 9:4)

Whosoever is fearful and afraid...

Two things there eh? Fearful and afraid.
...let him return.
Those fellas that were going, ”Phew. I’m out.”
...and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand;
and there remained ten thousand.

You'd be thinking, ‘Mate, the ranks are getting sparse. We're going to be concentrated in this little
area and the enemy is gonna out-flank us. We're gonna be in trouble.’ Then the other thought is,
‘You mongrels. You twenty-two thousand that ran out? Hopeless!’ All those thoughts. You’ve got to
know how to fight that too. Remember, it's God choosing the ranks. The ones that He’s left with...

You know, you might have seen those ones that had all the flash gears and everything like that.
‘They’ll stay. They’ll stay.’ Nah, they're gone. Then you look around and you think, ‘What? This
brother stayed? Man. Praise the Lord.’ Didn’t think that she had it in her...

...and there remained ten thousand.

4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many:
So actually the Lord was thinning down the ranks. He wasn’t increasing the ranks. He was thinning
down the ranks. This is God choosing the ranks. He says:

Bring them down unto the water,

And I’m going to choose by characteristics. This is My choosing. There is a conscious language
and there’s an unconscious language. Well this rank I’m dealing with on the inside. It’s not just an
outside choosing. This is an internal one.

4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water,
and I will try them for thee there:
It’s My army, but you are leading them. I’m going to select out of these ten thousand that’s left the
number that I think is needful to defeat this host. But He’s saying;

I will try them for thee there:

Where? Down by the water.

...and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee;
and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.
It’s His choosing.

If you're looking at the way the Lord is choosing these to defeat the host, we saw that the invading
army was from three nations. They had come upon the land, the Bible said, like grasshoppers.
(Judges 6:5) They consumed the land. They didn’t leave any sustenance for Israel. The
oppression was so strong and the oppression wasn’t just to keep them in bondage, but to decimate
them, to kill them, to destroy them.

Remember, Gideon had to follow the instructions. Because what happened? The Mighty Angel
came down. (Judges 6:12)

Now I talked about the first and second fold of the armour of God. We spoke about these things
from Ephesians chapter 6, putting on the whole armour of God. (Ephesians 6:11)

Brother Dave took up the mantle on Wednesday, praise the Lord. I know I was thankful for that,
because Elias and I have been putting in some mean hours in some very, very hot and trying
conditions. I was thinking to myself, ’Man. I need a rest.’ I suppose I’m at an age where I don’t
have to do everything. When it’s time for a rest, I’ll take a rest. It’s sort of like, you don’t have to be
in the frontline all the time. There’s brethren in the ranks that can fill those ranks and the church
still be blessed.

So when we looked at the ranks of Numbers chapter 2; very important eh? God chose the ranks.
God understood the speciality of those ranks; understanding the giftings, the callings.
Understanding the ensign and the standard that they would stand under. All of these things
represented certain things. In fact a person, a watchman that was looking from the tower; he knew
the colours of the enemy, right? He knew the standards and he knew the standard bearers. This is
why, when Israel saw Goliath, they trembled in fear, because they knew what Goliath represented
and that he was a man of war from his youth. (1 Samuel 17:11) Just by seeing his standard, they
didn’t even have to see him, there was fear and trembling amongst the Children of Israel because
of these things.
So to see the standard was to know the strategy. When you refine it a little bit eh? To see the Lion
you knew that you were coming up against Judah, Isachaar and Zebulun. (Numbers 2:3-9) You
better be good or you’re gonna get thrashed. That would put fear in the hearts of the enemy.

I tell you what; that’s what we want. When they see the standard of the Shekinah Glory
Tabernacle, that the enemy begins to fear. The enemy that tried to invade with sickness upon one
of our ranks. The enemy sees that standard and begins to tremble. Then hears the power of the
Spoken Word and they have got to flee. The Bible says, Resist the devil and he shall flee from
thee. That means turn tail and run. (James 4:7)

So by seeing the standard fear came upon the enemy and they left the battle field. This is the kind
of understanding that we’ve got to have by God’s grace. This kind of expectation that we build
every time we go into prayer. God chose me for this. I’m here to fulfill this.

So when the ranks and everything were laid in order and we see who were in the different parts
and the different regions; there was a banner from north, south, east and west. You had to know
where you stood. There shouldn’t be any confusion. Not only did you know whether you came from
north, south, east or west, you also had to know which rank you were in the north and what your
purpose was in the army. That purpose was according to the gift and calling God gave you.

Not only that, but you had to be able to have a faith in those that were with you in the ranks; that
they could fulfill their part. That they wouldn’t let you down. They ’had your back.’

I hear a lot of talk about, ”Don’t worry cuzzy. I’ve got your back.”
”Yeah?” What about when an invasion force of demon power comes in? You got their back? And
you don’t even know what it is? I hear that all the time. They don’t know what to do with that
demon. They try to talk to it, pacify it, swear at it, whatever and it doesn’t move. But we understand
it and we know how to move it.
I remember back in the day, I heard advice from one of the elders, that if a spirit came to you at
night swear at it. What did that do? Nothing. Then I learnt, ’Speak the Name of Jesus.’ What did
that do? Everything. Glory! It works.

We see those ranks and God’s choosing; choosing according to speciality, so that He can devise a
strategy. This was all about every member in the Body in rank and file to fulfill His purpose. This is
all about understanding God. To do that they had to get rid of Egyptian theology. This is not the
way that man runs an army. It’s not the way that organised religion does things. It seems so
contrary to the natural thinking, but God knows what He’s doing. That’s the thing; we have to have
confidence and trust in Him. He will not deviate from His Word.

Now watch as we’re coming a little closer in these things. God is saying in verse 4:

4 whomsoever I say unto thee,

This is the thing eh? God is revealing something to Gideon, but He’s actually not getting right down
into personal tin-tacks by showing the names. What He is looking at is showing the characteristics.
He’s not revealing the names of who’s going to be in the ranks and who’s not going to be in the
ranks. He’s showing him by characteristics.
Now character is a victory. There are certain attributes and characteristics and it’s not according to
our opinion.

Watch the way He is doing it:

5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the Lord said unto Gideon, Every one that
lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every
one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.
Now if I was looking at this I’d think to myself, ’The fellas that are kneeling down...’ I’d think to
myself, ’Well they are alert. They’re sort of watching while they’re drinking.’ Like this... ’That’s pretty
close to prayer.’ I think I would have probably chosen those ones.

These fellas that are down, basically flat on their guts, head over the side of the creek and drinking
like that... I would have thought, ’Man. These fellas can’t see nothing. Over confident.’ But there
are certain characteristics.

I’m glad I didn’t choose it. I would have got too many of the wrong ones. You hearing what I’m
saying?

Now, when you read that, I wonder if that would be thoughts going through your head?

I know if I’m drinking and I’m really thirsty, I’ll lay myself down, because it’s a gravity thing for me.
I’m down there. I’m as low to the water as I can be. But this other way is good too.

When you get down low like that it’s because there’s not a bountiful supply of water. When I’m in
the bush and I’m thirsty and there’s only a little trickle, what you have got to do is: You can’t
remove the leaves and stuff like that. You have just got to blow. Then all the insects and the dust
particles and all the bits of leaf, they blow to the side and then you’ve got a little space to put your
lips on the top of the water. If you sink down a little bit too deep your getting in the dust. You want
to be just sucking water, not dirt.

I don’t think that some of you have done that before, eh. (Blows it away.) You can’t just go like this,
it’ll create a little current and stir up the silt, so... (Sound of Pastor blowing) Just the very top. Then
you’re not putting too much pressure on because you’ll suck up dirt too. That’s the only way you
can do it. You haven’t even got room to put your hand in to cup something.

But look. God is choosing them by their characteristics.

If I’m tired and I’m thirsty, it’s like I want to get myself right down. I’m just taking the very top
without getting too much ripple, because ripple is going to get your dust and your dirt and your silt
and some leaves and some insects all in the same mouthful.

God is telling him, ”Choose these ones.”

6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men:
but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

It seems quite amazing eh? That God is choosing by certain characteristics and that He is looking
at the subconscious.
7 And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver
the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.
Don’t just split and go. He says, ”Go unto your place.”

God has still got all those ones in reserve. It’s not like they are not a part of the Body any more, but
these ones He has chosen to defeat the host.

Now I’m likening those things to the things that are happening today. There’s a host of at least two
hundred million (Revelation 9:16) and there’s a little Bride, scattered throughout the world that
believe, that the Lord has chosen to fill the ranks with. With those:

7 By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you

That’s quite something.

Now I wonder how those three hundred felt that had been chosen to fill the ranks? There’s an
importance, but there’s a humility with that. It’s not, ”God chose me, yeah boy! He knew who He
was choosing when He chose me!” No. There’s attitude. There’s character. There’s humility.
There’s respect. All of these things to me are characteristics that shows those that truly live by
faith.

8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel
every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was
beneath him in the valley.
That host was scattered right through the whole valley. Three hundred of them with rusty trumpets
and with a lamp. With rusty trumpets and a lamp they were going to deliver Israel.

These were the weapons of warfare. I tell you what, if you were down to those three hundred and
you had a trumpet given to you and that’s what you were going to go down and defeat this host
with... a trumpet and a light... I tell you, as soon as I got my trumpet, there wouldn’t be no rust left
on that trumpet no more. I’m thinking, ’I don’t know how He’s going to do it, but I’m going to make
this trumpet shine, just like my sword. Ain’t no rust on my sword.’ Rust is from lack of use. Rust is
from a lack of maintainance. It needs to be sharp and it needs to be oiled by the power of the Holy
Ghost, because Hebrews says the condition of my sword: For the Word of God is sharp and
powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword. It’s able to divide asunder between soul and spirit.
(Hebrews 4:12)

You know, I can get my hunting knife to be so sharp that I can just get a piece of paper and go like
this... and it’ll cut it. The camera man tests it on tomatoes right? That shows it’s sharp. Or some
fellows show it’s sharp by just... they’ve got no more hair on their arms, because that’s how they’re
testing sharpness.

But this One is so sharp, it will divide asunder between soul and spirit. You are cutting mist and
you’re cutting it so clean, between soul and spirit? You can divide between faith and unbelief. You
can cut out by surgical precision all unbelief. You can cut out fear with this two-edged sword of the
Word. It can discern all of these things. That’s how shiny that thing is. Shiny and sharp.
So the Captain of the Host is choosing the ranks. He chooses the strategy. By choosing the ranks
the strategy is being revealed and He’s equipping them with a trumpet each and a lamp.

When you look at that spiritual application today, they are given a trumpet. You have got to be a
Levite to blow the trumpet. We could not only identify ourselves as being a part of the tribes of
Israel under a certain banner, but we are also in the midst - in the middle of the tribes, around the
Shekinah, around the Tabernacle, around the Glory of the Lord.

How did God choose who would represent Him when thousands were carried away captive into
Babylon, in a time when Babylon was coming up to the peak of their power, dominated the world,
just like Mystery Babylon is dominating the world today? God chooses certain characteristics,
certain ones, that even though they were away from the commonwealth, away from Israel, these
certain ones would keep rank. These certain ones would not defile themselves with the king's
dainties and delicacies. (Daniel 1:8) There was something about them that would keep them from
moving into the abominations of Babylon. There were those that understood the propaganda
machines and would not be rehabilitated to serve in his kingdom.

I’m talking about the purity, the understanding, the heart of God within them. That’s the only thing
that can allow us to stand, that would make us stand. The purity of Christ in us. Glory. You know
we can’t mix it with our own thoughts and ideas and mix it with our own opinions and think it will
come out pure. It’s Him and His Word. The Spirit upon the Word making It go into action. This is
what I am talking about.

So who does God focus on? Who’s He choosing in the first rank? Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego. He chooses four that He’s putting the spotlight on in the book of Daniel, but they are
not the only ones that came out of Babylon.

You see we are a part of the ranks, but we’re not the only ranks. There’s others that are keeping
rank also. We are part of an international Body of Christ.

So even though the focus was on those four, there was still Nehemiah and it looks like he was a
wine taster for the king of Babylon. (Nehemiah 2:1) What would the boys have been thinking?
’Bro? What you doing with a job like that? You’re supposed to keep rank.’ God knows where to
place His foot soldiers. He’s got some right in the midst, tasting the wine. Not a very good
occupation for a believer, a wine taster! He’s the one that susses whether the king of Babylon is
going to get poisoned or not. Now some of the brothers would have been thinking, ’Man, let him
get poisoned!’

But you see what I mean? God chose for him to be there in that time and season and he was an
instrument and a vessel that would be used in His time and season. God placed him there.

I tell you what, Nehemiah was going to find some funding to help to build the Tabernacle.
Nehemiah was placed there so he could get letters of support to rebuild the Temple walls. He’d be
able to get aquisitions from the cedars of Lebanon. You see how, by being in that position was
going to help to fulfill the vision? So it’s not us choosing. It’s God that was choosing the ranks, but
the focus was on certain ones. God chose that.
Well some wanted to be the focal point and weren’t able to be the focal point. Why? Because of
characteristics. I’m showing you how God chooses the ranks. Amen. But they’re not the only ones,
because some played a more prominent part than some of the others.

Thousands went down into Babylon. You didn’t see Ezekiel being mentioned, but Ezekiel was
down in bondage too. (Ezekiel 1:1) When the vision of the Word opened up to him, praise God, in
Ezekiel chapter 1. It didn’t mean that he wasn’t keeping rank with God. He was.

All of these things are made clear by the Word. You had brothers like Ezekiel. God showed him the
vision of the Word; opened up the fulness of the Word to him. Then that man, after he’d seen the
fulness of the Word, he was told to take the scroll and eat the scroll. It’ll be sweet in his mouth but
bitter in his belly. (Ezekiel 3:1-3)

Then as soon as he had eaten the book what did he see? Economic disaster. He saw a break in
the economy. He saw the woes that were ready to come. That’s what happens when the Word is
opened up. You see the schemes of the enemy. You see how all of his schemes have been
uncovered and that’s why the enemy is howling, ('Christ is the Mystery of God Revealed'
Jeffersonville, '63 Para 583, 603) is because he gets exposed. Praise the Lord.

Are you understanding what I’m saying? He’s choosing.

When He chose Gideon’s army, three hundred of them, He equips them. They’re given a trumpet
and a lantern and with those they were going to defeat the army of the Midianites. Phew! You can
read the rest of that story yourselves.

Now there were more than just those few that came out of Babylon. There were thousands that
came out of Babylon and went back into the Promised Land. God was using these different ones
as the focus was changing, because remember, God designs the vessel to fulfill the purpose.

Some of those vessels He called out of Babylon. God had designed those vessels to fulfill their
part. He designed them with a purpose in His mind. Some were made of gold, representing diety.
Some were made of silver representing redemption, because this was part of His redemption plan.

They were made from all sorts of materials and characteristics and things like this. Some vessels
were made to trim the wicks. Some were made to carry wine. Some were made to carry oil. Some
were a stimulation by a revelation. Some of these vessels were to sound in a certain way. Some
were made for worship, for music. Some were made for a joyous sound. Some were made for a
solemn assembly and some instruments could sound both, a solemn assembly and a joyous
occasion. Are you made for that too? Or are you just made for ’sad-sack?’ Because you should be
made to fulfill all the different seasons.

When I’m seeing these things you know, we were down in those drunken parties of Mystery
Babylon eh? When the hand-writing came on the wall, ’Mene, mene, tekel, upharsin. Thou are
weighed in the balance and found wanting.’ (Daniel 5:25-28) Why? Babylon was using the vessels
against the purpose of what God had created them for. That’s why Babylon was judged. The
judgment came because the vessels were not being used for the purpose God had designed them
for. Is that enough to bring a judgment? While Babylon was falling Jerusalem was rising. Babylon
is falling. Remember that song? ['Stone by Stone'] Jerusalem shall rise. Isn’t that us?

So in the midst, while Babylon is coming to the peak of its power... That’s the day we are living in
now. The peak of its power comes when they think that they have got enough to win the Third
World War.

I hope you are interested in what’s happening in Ukraine and Europe. You watching? I want you to
take note of those things. All the scrapping, everything that’s going on. Well you know what? That
may look like that’s the focal point, but what is happening while all the smoke and all the attention
is there? That’s what I’m looking at.

I know why that attention is there. I see that, but I’m looking at prophecy. I’m watching to see what
is happening in other arenas, because that’s a smoke screen, but where is the battle going to be
fought? And where’s the battle going to be won? But all these are building up, because I tell you
what. The rapture can’t take place until that Third World War is fixing to strike. Amen. And there’s
got to be things in place for the Beast to have full control, absolute control of trade and economics.
(Revelation 13:17) We’re seeing those things coming and being fulfilled.

Different mandate changes and things like that? That really isn’t a super concern of mine. That
helps to fulfill certain prophecies, helps me to understand, but the kaupapa [Maori word for
programme] doesn’t change. We think that every time there is a mandate change there’s a change
to the Word of God and the kaupapa? No it doesn’t change at all. The objective is still the same.
The purpose of God is still the same. Amen.

So I want you to come with me now to Numbers chapter 10. What kind of trumpet you got?
Remember what your Numbers 10 is? Your two Silver Trumpets. That’s why I’m asking what kind
of trumpet have you got in a time like this?

Let’s look at this. Let’s just have a little focus here, because I’m showing you what you are packing.
This ain’t no rusty trumpet that you are carrying. These are trumpets that are made completely of
silver. Silver is the colour of? Redemption.

The characteristics and the attributes He’s looking for in the ranks is somebody that can give Him
pre-eminence. First place. Is that right? Once He’s got somebody that will give Him first place,
what’s He going to do? Express Himself through them to reconcile all things back into their original
condition. (Colossians 1:18-20) The three-fold mystery of the purpose of God. Pre-eminence so
He can express Himself through them to reconcile all things back into their original condition.
Reconciliation is redemption, to take us back to our original inheritance, to take us back to our
original purpose. That’s why I’m emphasising the imprtance of what these silver trumpets were
made out of.

I want to show you who sounds them. I want to give you some more detail than you had when I
first preached these things years ago.
Numbers Chapter 10, Verse 1

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them:
This is one piece of silver per trumpet.

The Egyptians, they had those long curved trumpets that were made out of rams horns, but this
trumpet was made out of one piece of silver and the purpose of making it out of silver was so it
could give distinct notes and for the purity of the sound.

The trumpet wasn’t curved like the Egyptian's. The Egyptian’s were sounds of merriment and
bondage. But these trumpets have to give a certain sound. They were straight, about a cubit in
length. They weren’t curved. They were straight, made out of one piece.

Man, you imagine how the hole had to be in a certain place and the precision in which they were
made. A certain configuration and a certain intonation had to make a certain sound.

2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them:

Now not in too much detail, but somebody gifted in the making of these things, what a challenge
that would have been. Eh Brother Des? What a challenge. You’re given a lump of silver. ”Make me
a trumpet.” Now they have to catch the vision.

Now watch how your trumpet is made, how God chose you to be in Gideon’s army, because I’m
using different portions of these scriptures to show you why you are chosen and how you are
made. Your feet have got to be shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace, (Ephesians
6:15) because your silver trumpet is the Gospel trumpet of the Good News in a time of trouble.
That’s your type. That’s for those that can remember the series I preached on that. I think we might
even have written a song on that. We might have to get back into the archives and stir that one up
for the last song. ’Silver trumpets.’

2 Of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the
assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
So how did they journey brethren? They journeyed by the Pillar of Fire by night and the Cloud by
day. When the Cloud moved the Church moved. When the Pillar of Fire stopped, the Church
stopped. When the Pillar of Fire moved by night, if it was a night movement, they moved. But then
the intricate sounding... it wasn’t just everybody following the Pillar of Fire. There was a certain way
in which they moved.

So there was a co-ordination of the supernatural of God with the silver trumpets on how they
moved. There had to be certain intonations. Certain notes would depict who would move, how
they’d move. Praise the Lord. Because what was the purpose?

...that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly,
Trumpets sound. Means the Church was to assemble together, to listen for a message. They were
also to show the daily movements of the camp.
So while the Pillar of Fire was moving they were moving with it. They had to know how to move,
what was the purpose of the move. Was this a feast or was this an attack? Was this gathering
together for war? Or was it for a solemn assembly. Watch as we read a little bit further:

3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the
door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
What was happening?

The signals were made by the difference in the loudness and variety of the notes. So you had to
know how to read the music sheet. What is the music sheet? The Word. What happened if
somebody didn’t know how to read the music sheet? They’d get out of rank.

You know they’ve got that little thing and it goes ding. (The triangle.) Well what if they ding in the
wrong place? What if they had a cymbal and those cymbals clash for a crescendo and you got that
in the middle instead of the end?

You had to know when to come in. You had to be watching the Great Conductor. You had to be
sensitised to these notes, because this is how they learnt to follow God, by following the music
sheet. And the music sheet wasn’t even written. Think about that. There was no music sheet, but
there was a certain intonation that they had to hear.

So these signals were made. It was a difference in loudness and variety in the notes that was
suited for different occasions. So you had to be able to read the occasion by the sounding of the
note. Well was there any excuse for those that were tone deaf? I don’t know. Is there such a thing
as tone deaf? Does it mean you can’t sing with the note? Well if a person is tone deaf then they
have to pick up the vibes. There’s another way of sussing it out eh? You had to be able to
understand the vibrations.

But look how sensitive... even if one part of the body wasn’t working. I’m talking the individual
body. They had to be in tune with other parts of the body, because you have got to catch the
signals. Glory. The Children of Israel had to learn to distinguish the notes.

You know what? It wasn’t just the musicians and the worshipers that had to distinguish the notes.
So everybody had to actually be in tune with the signals and the notes of the silver trumpets, not
just the worshippers. ”Oh, that’s your fellas' department.” No. Everybody. Glory.

4 And if they blow but with one trumpet,

Praise the Lord that there wasn’t two hundred trumpets eh? You imagine how long it will take to get
them in tune. How long it would take to get them all playing the same note.

You think that’s crazy? What about a Bride and a Bride Body? Get them to be playing the same
note and not make a mistake on the note that’s played. You’ve got to know the trumpet. You’ve got
to know because somebody else's lung capacity is different to yours. There’s a variety of lung
capacity. Somebody walks ten metres and their lung capacity is gone. Others can walk three
kilometres and they’re just warming up. They need another three to get warm. Massive difference
in lung capacity right there.

Brother Steen and Sister Julie going for a stroll in the snow with them funny looking shoes on.
Make our size 10 boots look like their little ski sledges or something, ice-skating things. Not only do
they have to walk through the snow, the traction and every thing like that; they’ve got to get up to
speed as well, cross country speed. That’s a fairly handy lung capacity. Does that make a
difference on how they blow? Because it has got to be the same volume that comes out of the
trumpet.

So these fellas with big lung capacity, (Pastor makes a noise of a trumpet sounding.) They’re
sounding an alarm when it’s a general assembly. I’m trying to show you the importance of those
silver trumpets.

4 And if they blow but with one trumpet...

There’s certain configurations between the two trumpets;

...then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.
This is the leaders.

When there’s a blast on one trumpet, a single uniform sound – a single blast brought the princes to
consult on public affairs, on strategy, but a uniform sound by both trumpets summoned a general
assembly of the people. The differences.

Now I can imagine the confusion when they first started getting used to the gifts. Come on. The
confusion. The ability to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church (Revelation 3:22) and what
that sound really meant. You’ve got a blast by one trumpet to assemble the princes, but it’s not an
alarm sound. Then you’ve got the same sound but using two trumpets, you’ve got to discern
between whether it’s one or two trumpets blowing at the same time. That is to assemble the
people.

If you ever read that, did you read it with that understanding?

You’ve got to differentiate whether one or two are blowing, because this will dictate your behaviour.
The elders hear one. My goodness.

I tell you what, the fire brigade ain’t got nothing on these guys. When that alarm sounds right? The
fire crews, they’ve got to drop what they’re doing. Imagine that. You’re pulling in a twenty pound
snapper and the fire siren sounds and you’re thinking, ’Forget that. Get this thing in.’ There’s not
that kind of urgency. I used to hear it go down in Kawakawa. When it goes, the ones that are close
of course they arrive. They’re all stripping down and putting on their gears.

When you hear it four or five times you know somebody’s being slack, because they haven’t got a
fire crew yet. That alarm; all of Kawakawa heard that alarm. They probably heard it down in
Moerewa as well. I remember that clearly. That was only one siren sound to gather them in. That
signal could be heard right throughout Kawakawa, didn’t matter where you were. You could even
have fellas coming from Taumarere.

I remember hearing the siren when we were at rugby training. Those that were on the fire brigade
they’re smiling and laughing and leaving the training, heading back to the fire station. Look at how
fast sound can travel.

Now what we are talking about; the silver trumpets were purity of sound, so that they could hear
that sound right through the valley, because you have got two and a half million people to call. Two
and a half million have to come to a place that they all understand the sounding of those silver
trumpets, which is the equivalent of our Gospel Trumpet.

What about when they turned up with their dancing slippers? ”Oh. I thought it was Feast of
Tabernacles.”
”Bro! Where’s your armour? Where’s your sword? Where’s your shield? You’ve only got dancing
slippers." Do you think that was an excuse, not knowing the season?

What I’m saying is, they all had to understand, learn and distinguish the sounds, the whole Body.
Praise the Lord.

Different notes were made to sound an alarm, whether for journeying or for war; notes for alarm.

5 When ye blow an alarm,

I want you to see something here. You had to know how to blow the trumpet and only specific ones
could blow it. How many times did they have to practise blowing that trumpet to get the right
sound?

I remember trying to blow a trumpet and it gave all sorts of different sounds and I’m blowing the
same way. I’m differentiating this for a purpose.

5 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.
My goodness. So you’re not only understanding where you were, what ensign you were under,
what rank you were, but when you heard a certain sound, an alarm...

...the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

So there was a sound of a trumpet. They distinguished the sound, ’East,’ because the enemy was
coming from the east.

Remember, that Lion, Ox, Man and Eagle, it never went backwards. It always went forward.
(Ezekiel 1:12) If that sound came, the ranks that were on the east had to move. It didn’t matter,
twenty pound snapper or not. You just waved goodbye to that twenty pound snapper. You
responded to the alarm because it was you that was in the front rank.

Because they were silver trumpets and the colour of redemption, you knew that God was going to
be with you, because He told you to make them and He told you to sound them in a certain way.
When you knew that it was God with you, do you think they were worried about the numbers that
they were up against? This is redemption and you are a part of the redemption plan. You are not
just a candidate for redemption, but you are the redemption plan.

It sounded in a certain blast and you went out in the front ranks, because you heard that single
blast. Those that were out on the east, they went first. That allowed the rest of the brethren to
assemble themselves. Then the next one would sound and then the ones from another direction
would fill in the rank. But that enemy that was coming in like a flood could be stopped right in it’s
steps and those in the front rank knew that the rest were coming. The rest of the army was on its
way.

That’s why a lot of times the first rank, praise the Lord, is your praise and worship welcoming the
presence of the Lord. Then your prayer and fasting. They are long range instruments. While those
are going brethren, that doesn’t mean, ’Praise the Lord. They’ve got it.’ That’s what happens
sometimes right? ’Praise the Lord. They’ve got it. Sweet as.’ No. It meant that the other ranks were
preparing themselves as the support team.

The support team and the front ranks changed. It wasn’t only the Lion that went first, but you
imagine the privilege that you had if God chose you to move out into the first ranks. There was no
fear. ”Bro. Look at that cancer.”
”I’m up against cancer?”
”You sure are.”

There was no hestitation. There was no fear, because you understood what the Prophet said. "If
you can get the people to believe and don’t doubt in your heart, not even cancer will stand in your
way." (’At Thy Word Lord,’ Phoenix ’48, Para 48)

You could go into that front rank, no matter who you were because God chose you to go out and
face that enemy. You didn’t choose you. God chose you. He sounded in a certain way and you
went out to the front. Praise God.

If He equipped you He gave you a silver trumpet and a light. You see how it fits together with
Judges chapter 7?

5 When ye blow an alarm, (not a trumpet, an alarm) then the camps that lie on the east parts shall
go forward.
One alarm was the recognised signal for the eastern divisions of the camp - the tribes of Judah,
Isachaar and Zebulun - to march. While they are marching, they stopped the frontal attack of the
enemy. The rest of the Church is getting ready in their ranks, because they don’t just leave it up to
the praise and worship and fasting and prayer. There has got to be the rest to mop up.

You imagine, you are tired from battle. You’ve been in the front ranks and you get a tap on the
shoulder, ”Take a rest. I’ve got it from here.” This is what it’s like in the midst of battle. When you
get to a place where you're disorientated.
Eh Levi? Walking out after a hard day; ten hours slugging... You are walking up hills so steep and
you’ve got pine needles. You know when they are dry how slippery they are? You’re trying to climb
up them things. You get up to here and then you slide all the way back down to here. You feel like
praising the Lord? When you want to walk frontwards and you’re going backwards? Then Levi
comes up to me and says, ”Papa, you want me to carry your gear?” If I can’t carry my own gear I
need to stay home. Then you just march on through, because you know there’s ice cold drink
waiting for you at the truck. Praise the Lord.

6 When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take
their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
You see the intricacies.

Two alarms gave the signal for the southern to move. Three alarms being sounded, those on the
west moved. This is strategy unfolding when brethren were separated by miles. This is an
encampment that holds two and a half million. This is a whole valley. So you understand the clarity
of the notes.

Four blasts; those on the north moved. Now watch this:

7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an
alarm.
That is to gather the congregation.

So by following this strategy that God had revealed and the purpose of making those two silver
trumpets, the greatest order... What we’re talking about is keeping rank with a perfect heart. The
greatest order and discipline were established in the Church. You see why I am focusing on these
things? What an order. No military march could be better regulated than by those silver trumpets.
They had to know the notes.

Now watch this. We’re getting a little more detail here:

8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets;
It was specific who blew.

...and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
What does God require? That we fulfill His ordinance and His commandments.

The sons of Aaron, the priests. What does Revelation chapter 1, verse 6 say? We are called to be
what? Kings and priests. Kings and priests He has made us. The first kingdom that you are a king
over is this body, spirit and soul. You bring this subject to the Word. This is the first one we
conquer, this. Bring it under submission to the Word.

They shall blow the trumpets. So if they have been given instruction to blow the trumpets, they got
to know how to blow the trumpet. They’ve got to know the seasons. They’ve got to know the
occasions. They’ve got to be sensitive to God.
...and they shall be to you for an ordinance FOR EVER throughout your generations.
So if God is setting a pattern here, He didn’t just set it for them back there, He set it for ever and for
all the generations that would follow. The Royal Seed of Abraham. Is that right?

So neither the Levites, nor any in the common ranks of the people could be employed in this office
of signal giving.
Now you’re being called to be kings and priests. You were chosen of God to fill the ranks of
Gideon’s army, to defeat the Midianites. Amen?

Why I am saying that is remember in the days of Gideon, after those three powers had decimated
the ranks of Israel. They were there to consume them and destroy them. Then that Mighty Angel
came down and said to Gideon, ”Gideon, thou mighty man of valour. Go in this thy might.” (Judges
6:12-14) Before this occasion and before these things happened where was Gideon? The Bible
says that he was at the threshing floor, just before the winepress. (Judges 6:11) The threshing
floor is the last part of the harvest just before the rapture.

Are we at the last stages of the harvest just before the rapture? The winepress is your Third World
War. That’s your Battle of Armageddon. That’s your Revelation chapter 15. The blood from the
winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God. That’s the judgment on Mystery Babylon. The
blood will be up to the bridles of the horses, as the vats of blood will overflow. (Revelation 14:20)

So we saw Gideon. His position was in the threshing floor before the winepress. That’s when the
Angel visited him.
Isn’t the Angel of the Lord visiting us in the last stages of the harvest, at the threshing floor? Just
before the winepress, the Battle of Armageddon? Amen.

Now we’re understanding the kind of trumpet that we’re holding. Not a rusty trumpet. It’s a silver
trumpet. Glory. This is not an old worthless lantern. This is a lantern that we can’t hide under a
bushel. We’ve got to put it on a place where it can be seen. (Luke 11:33) Praise the Lord. Because
it is with these instruments that we are going to defeat an innumerable number of enemy.

So what it’s saying is that those sounding that trumpet were not just from the common ranks. They
were specifically chosen. In order to attract greater attention and more faithful observance it was
reserved to the priests alone, as the Lord’s ministers according to their calling and election.

The alarm trumpets were sounded from the Tabernacle. That’s the important part too. They were
sounded from the Tabernacle which was the visible residence of Israel’s king. In the time when
there was no king that was the residence of God. The trumpets sounded from the Tabernacle.

Well the Tabernacle of God is with men, right? (Revelation 21:3) This is the kingdom of God. That
trumpet had to be sounded from within and it had to give a certain sound.

Now we’re understanding how to keep rank with a perfect heart. This is not just words. There’s
some detail that goes with the words.

9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you,
Is there an enemy that tries to oppress us?

If ye go to war...
Sometimes people don’t even know this is spiritual warfare. Amen. This is war. This is not just
mandate changes. This is not just outward pressure. This is orchestrated pressure and God’s
allowing it and while He’s doing it He raises up a banner so we can look and live. (Numbers 21:9)
We can understand what’s going on. Watch this:

9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an
alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be
saved from your enemies.
Whew! There’s a promise to those that sound the trumpet, but you’ve got to know how to sound it,
what note to sound. You’ve got to know the strategy to be able to blow one blast, so this rank can
go forward.

So maybe just leave it to me until you get the intonations right, eh? What do you reckon? Until you
can get that certain sound. Until you’ve perfected. How long does it take to perfect? Over night.
Amen, because a dry almond stick can bring forth fruit, can bring forth an atmosphere, can bring
forth the fragrance in one night, in the presence of the Shekinah. Glory. (Numbers 17:7-8)

You hear what we’re saying here? Hear what the Word is saying:

...the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets;
Hallelujah.

You shall be remembered of the Lord, because it’s made of silver. The colour of silver is
redemption. Redemption from oppression. Redemption from captivity. Glory.

In the Land of Canaan, either when they were being attacked by foreign invaders, or when they
went to take possession, according to the divine promise, they had to blow a trumpet, or blow an
alarm. What for? When there were foreign invaders coming; alarm. When you had to go in and
possess your inheritance; blow an alarm. So that what? So that all the people know how to gather.
You know whether you are the first rank, the second rank, the third rank, the fourth rank.

You imagine eh? They blew you to be the first rank and that was God’s strategy. You didn’t even
think that you should be on the first rank. All of a sudden you found yourself on the first rank.

”Where’s the Pastor today?” Well you were told to get on the front rank for a change.
”And how come there’s no deacons?” There were three blasts, not one! One blast with one trumpet
was for the elders to gather. This wasn’t the gathering of the elders. This was the gathering of the
third rank that had to go first. Glory! Are you hearing me? Thank You Jesus.

Do you know what? The sounding of the trumpets by the Levites was an act of devout confidence
in God. Not only to the one that was sounding the trumpet, but those that were hearing the
sounding of the trumpet. This one that sounded the one blast knew it was time for Judah to go
forth. So there was a divine confidence in that which they blasted, that God was going to support
and back it up. That’s the colour of redemption.

Then not only those that sounded the trumpet, but those that heard the sounding of the trumpet;
that built a confidence and an assurance in the power of God. This is where we get our confidence
from, is in Him. When you used to look at one another with the wiris [Maori word for the shakes]
”Can we do this?” Because you look at one another, ”He chose us? Mate. We’re just the back-up
singers and He chose us to take the front rank! Hallelujah!” And you went with such confidence.
You went with such joy, because now you could do something for the Kingdom. You were chosen.
You were worthy to step up to the mark. ”Thank You Jesus!” Because what? Your fear was gone.
You couldn’t even have any fear to step up on to that plate. Amen. All of those ones with fear were
sent home.

But when you were chosen you actually thought that you had fear and you had nervousness. And
yet He chose you? It’s His choosing. He was showing you your fear is gone. You looked
(shakingly) in the mirror... That was just the ripples of faith arising. Glory. That was nervousness
taking its flight.

That’s like the preacher that stands behind the sacred desk and they thank God for that, because
of the knees that were shaking. But then, when He came down, hallelujah, there was such a
confidence in what God could do.

You watch brethren, a solemn religious act on the eve of battle has often stirred the hearts of the
people so much. They’ve felt so engaged with God and the good intention of this battle. Well, just
the blowing of the trumpet, knowing that was an ordinance of God. Knowing that God was
supporting the ordinance. Knowing that because you did your part, the Mighty God Himself was
going to step out on the battle front, not just with you, but in you. If God be for us, who can be
against us? (Romans 8:31) Thank You Jesus!

God would be with us. God would be out in the front rank. If He called you to be in the front rank
and you’re usually the fourth rank; God was in the first rank. God was in the second and third. That
meant that Judah was given some respite. Amen. The trumpets sounding aroused a passion within
those that heard it. Glory. Because they knew that God was going to bless the people with His
presence and with His aid. Who can stand against that?

Verse 10. I told you we were going to have a bit of a Bible study in this. We’re going to get some
detail of some of these things.

10 Also in the day of your gladness,

So it wasn’t just solemn assemblies. Wasn’t just ’sad sack.’
In the day of your gladness.
Praise the Lord.

”What have I to be glad about?” You just heard the trumpet. Mate. It don’t matter what the
circumstances are. You heard the trumpet. That took care of all the circumstances. Not only did
you hear it, you understood it, because you studied the distinction of the sounds. Maybe I should
put that up on the Shekinah Glory Chat eh? What one was for. What one with one trumpet was.
You want to put that up on the chat? What was a solemn assembly. What two sounding was to do.
What was to gather the elders.

It was a secret language. The enemy didn’t know who was assembling. The enemy didn’t know
who was coming forth. Hallelujah. But God’s people knew. The enemy was confused, because
they are thinking that they are going to face Judah, Isachaar, Zebulun. They knew what rank to put
in front of them, because they also knew the weakness. But what about when Reuben turned up?
It threw their strategy all over the place. The back-rankers were now in the front and the enemy
that was coming in like a flood just brought confusion and they scattered that enemy, because of
God’s strategy. Praise God.

10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your
months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your
peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.

So festive and thanksgiving occasions were to be ushered in by trumpets. Amen. As all feasts
afterward were to be intimate and joyous, which elicited delighted emotions from within. Amen?

That’s how they engaged in the service of the Lord with that kind of purity and excitement and
expectation of the feast. That’s verse 10.

11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the
cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.
12 And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested
in the wilderness of Paran.
It was time to move when they understood their rank and file.

13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of
Moses.
Let me just give you a little background on those verses, because Israel had been encamped in
that wilderness for eleven months and twenty nine days, in the same place. It took them that period
of time to be trained in the signals, to be trained in the Gospel Trumpet. Eleven months and twenty
nine days they were in the same place.

The purpose God was using was to get all Egyptian theology out of them, get rid of their old
Babylonian thinking, their Babylonian reactions. Then sensitise them to the sounding of the
trumpets and movement of the Pillar of Fire by night and the Cloud by day.

You see how important that was? When they came out of forty years of bondage, forty years of
captivity, forty years under a slave master, where they were trodden under foot and they never
thought anything of themselves. Think of it. You think after four hundred years of bondage and
slavery, they could just come out and skip to the Promised Land? God kept them there for eleven
months and twenty nine days. Now somebody can give me the significance of that maybe. I ain’t
telling you. Find the significance of it.
But in that time they were sensitised to the signals. They were sensitised to those silver trumpets.
They were sensitised to those that blew those trumpets and now their innermost being was
changed. Their emotions were changed. Their feelings were changed, because when the
Egyptians sounded their trumpet, which was the curved horn; (Blast of a horn) ”Wake up.” (Blast of
a horn) ”Five minutes to wash.” (Blast of a horn) ”Five minutes to eat.” Then you didn’t eat again
until the end of the day when you were tired and worn. All those trumpets were, were slavery and
bondage. Amen. But now God had re-trained them, by the renewing of their minds. (Romans 12:2)
They were getting used to certain signals.

Look how long they trained for. Brethren, how long have we been in training? How long have we
been in fellowship one with another? All of these things in preparation for what? Crossing over into
the Promised Land. What’s that? The rapture. Glory.

Why is it that the Lord has laid upon my heart that we re-visit ’Keeping Rank With A Perfect Heart?’

You know what brethren? I haven’t moved from the notes that I prepared for the Cyber meetings.
You say, ”How could I fit in all that detail into that message?” Impossible. Part of this was for the
international Body, but part of this was for the local Body. The international Body wouldn’t get that
detail. You get that detail. Well that’s saying something.

13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of
Moses.
They started that journey out of the wilderness, into the Promised Land under the Prophet’s
Message. Then the Prophet was forbidden to go over, so Joshua, the Holy Ghost took them over.
Isn’t it the same Joshua taking us over? Getting us to understand these things? Amen. All of that
time was a preparation to cross over into the Promised Land. What was it to do? Remove all
Egyptian theology from us. Just like the Lord had to remove Paul’s theology to bring him to knee-
ology, because he couldn’t use what he had learnt among the Pharisees and Sadducees.

In the promises God had to renew his mind and it took eleven months and twenty nine days to do
it. Removing four hundred years of oppression in captivity. God knows what He is doing.

Then, when they knew their rank, when they knew their ensign, when they knew their standard and
the Pillar of Fire and the Cloud had hovered over them for eleven months and twenty nine days...
Finally they heard that blast. How do you think they reacted to that? Was there expectation in the
camp? ’Now all this training I can put into action.’

They were so strategically orientated by this time. They’d had so many drills.

I don’t know if any of you have done fire training, but you get fire training until you know how to put
pumps together and run hoses and all of these things, until you can do it blind-folded and you get
sick of it. But you know how to hit the targets.

First time you did it, it took you three minutes. But by the end of the training you could do it in
twelve seconds. How can you cut it down from three minutes to twelve seconds without training?
You can do it without thinking because it’s now team work and you’re reliant upon one fella doing
one job.

I was hearing it all the time down at the funeral of my Uncle Danny when we headed down that
way the other day. All I can hear is my cousin say, ”Bro, you’re only given one job.” So in other
words, you are given one job; do that job right. That’s all I heard down there, ’Just given one job.’
Well you know how to do it.

We knew one had to get the suction hose. That’s all that his job was. Run down to the creek, fill up
that suction hose. Connect it to the pump and then prime the pump. Another fella ran out the
hoses. You had one hose going here. You had two running off that. The other one ran out a hose
and put the nozzle on. Everybody knew their job.

Then you had two big tins filled with water that you’ve got to blow over. You’ve got to get water
running into your pump. You’ve got to get your water going through dividers out to the hoses and
then you’ve got to get the water with enough volume to smack over that drum filled with water.
Twelve seconds.

It used to take me about five minutes to skin a possum. By the end of the time of hundreds of
mongrel possums to skin, you get it down to 8 seconds. Refining the wine. This is what I’m talking
about spiritually. Spiritually you become so refined.

If you realise that you can be called to be on the front rank at any given time, at the blast of a
trumpet, you’ve now got to know all the others jobs as well. ’But I ain’t gifted with that.’ Tell God
that, because He was the One that sounded one blast.

That sort of blows all our theology out of the water eh? It brings us into another stage of the battle
and another stage of the plan.

Now you imagine, if you were put in a certain rank, what purpose and belonging you would feel in
that rank. ”God chose me.” There would be an excitement. ”Man. I can put all this training into
action.” There’d be an expectation. You know what of? Not only of you being in the front rank, but
an expectation that God was with you and you were going to see miraculous things take place.
Amen?

You knew how to sound the trumpet and how to make it a certain sound. All of those sounds were
crisp and clear.

You know what the sounding of the trumpet is? The words that come out of your mouth; crystal
clear. No hesitation in the blowing. No different sound, because the emotions of Babylonian
thinking is gone. A trained soldier of the Cross. Eleven months and twenty nine days and then the
Pillar of Fire moved. Then the Cloud moved and they moved from one place in the desert to
another. God was moving His people forward. Amen.

What Moses lacked the Pillar of Fire had. What you lack the Pillar of Fire has. What you lacked in
confidence, the trumpets gave it back, because they were the colour of redemption. Amen.
Remember our main objective from this time forward is to get the Bride ready for glory. Not only
ready for glory, but to glory. Amen.

Just want to give you one quote before we close. It’s in ’Father The Hour Has Come,’ Chicago,
’56, Para 35. What an appropriate title of a message.

Musicians you can come and warm us up with that song, ’Silver Trumpets.’

Now, so then God blessed him. God will bless anyone who will go back to the old landmark of the
Bible and start from the Bible,
We’re talking about landmarks.

...not according to theology, or some man-made theology, but from true Bible theology,
That’s what I’m teaching this morning. I’m teaching you Bible types and principles that relate to us
in this hour.

...and start from the old landmark and move up, God will move with you.
What an expectation that should build.
God will move with you.

So God begin to bless Jehoshaphat, and the first thing you know, He begin to prosper him. And he
built up all the garrisons, so that the uncircumcised could not come in.
Who were the uncircumcised? Unbelievers, filled with fear.

And that’s what the churches needs today, is a garrison of the old-time apostolic teaching, so this
lukewarm, formal, in-and-out, up-and-down, doesn’t get into our church. What’d I say? That’s right.
We have permitted too many things to creep in, brethren, too many things, that we left the old
landmark from the beginning, to creep in;

We’ve got to get back to the patterns and types in the Word and rely on that.

I wonder brethren if you can understand the importance that I place on those silver trumpets. I
don’t even know how many years ago it was that I preached these things, but it wasn’t in that
detail. Amen. I’m trusting you’re getting enough detail today to know that you, one: Are one that
sounds the trumpet. Glory. You have to know how to respond to the trumpets. You’ve got to know
the sounding, because what are the silver trumpets? It’s the Gospel Trumpet. The Gospel of the
Good News of Jesus Christ. Amen?

Let’s stand to our feet.

I trust that we can know how to keep rank with a perfect heart.

Eleven months and twenty nine days. Anything specific about that? Eleven months and twenty nine
days? Was it February? Eleven months and twenty nine days? That would make a year wouldn’t
it? Don’t know! You unfold the mystery!
I do know, but...

Man. When was this song written? Anybody remember? It was probably one of the first CD’s
Brother Des. In fact we haven’t even got technology to play that CD no more. I was wanting to play
it this morning in the car. It couldn’t read it.

It’s been quite some time since we sung it too. Did we ever sing this as a congregational song?

Silver Trumpets

I have surely seen

The afflictions of My people
And have heard their cry
By reason of their taskmasters
And I Am come down to deliver them

CHORUS
Hear the Levites sound forth
Those silver trumpets
To relay to God's people the battle plan
Preparing the people to cross over
To put in practice the lessons
That they have learned
For the battle they'd face
In Canaan Land

We were bound in slavery to sin

But God had placed Gene seed within
Called out by a token sign
Now we are justified
The death angel, he can now pass us by
The death angel, he can now pass us by

From Egypt to Canaan Land

The Spoken Word
Opened up the sea our journey
Through the wilderness of sin
Numbers identified hereditary genes
To break amnesia and positionally place
By knowing who they are
Satan can't prevail
The first battle was Baal-Peor
Destroying of that hybrid seed
They numbered that next generation
Instilling discipline
Obedience to the Word
Receive instruction
From the Captain of the Host
Divine strategy
From the Captain of the Host
Now we must possess our land
Destroy the enemy
With the sword in our hand

The gospel trumpet gives a certain sound

We respond from the position we've found
The gates of hell, they shall not prevail
The gates of hell, they shall not prevail

Hear the Levites

Sound forth the gospel trumpet
To relay to God's people the battle plan
After having done all we are able to stand
Lucifer defeated on every hand
(Repeat first 3 lines)
Our Lord and His Bride
With dominion again
Our Lord and His Bride
With dominion again
