Polydeck SF Seal coat

TOPPING :

Polydeck SF is a solvent free two components system, based on polyurethane resin.

Polydeck SF combines superior chemical and abrasion resistance with excellent
adhesion, colour retention and weatherability.

The salient features of Polydeck SF are as below:

 Specially designed for car park system

 Easy cleaning and low maintenance.
 Protects against moisture penetration.
 Exceptional resistance to chemicals and cleaning solvents.
 Non-Slip finish can be tailored to requirements.
 Flexible, can be used over wood and steel
 Impermeable to water and oil.
 Excellent resistance to oil, petrol and diesel.
APPLICATION METHODOLOGY
Moisture content

The Moisture content of concrete is checked with a Sika Tramex moisture meter.
Moisture content of the surface should be less than 4%.
If the moisture content is more than 4% then a moisture barrier underlay to be used.

Surface Preparation

The long term durability of Sika Epoxy Floor Topping is dependent upon the adhesive bond
Construction
achieved between the flooring material and substrate. It is most important that the existing
epoxy substrate is correctly prepared prior to application.

 All cracks to be opened up and sealed with epoxy mortar / Putty

 Any loose patches to be removed and repaired with epoxy mortar / Putty
 Filling up of pot holes, dents on the surface with epoxy mortar / Putty
 Grinding filled joints, slurry accumulated areas
 The surface must be prepared by Diamond grinding, connected with a dust collector to
minimize dust generation.

Application of Primer Polydeck BC (Comp A+B)

Mixing of Primer
Prior to mixing, stir part A mechanically. When all of part B has been added to part A,
mix continuously for 2 minutes until a uniform mix has been achieved. Over mixing
must be avoided to minimize air entrainment.
Polydeck BC (Comp A+ B) must be thoroughly mixed using a low speed electric stirrer
(300 - 400 rpm) or other suitable equipment.

Application of Primer
Make sure that a continuous, pore free coat covers the substrate. If necessary, apply
two priming coats. Apply Polydeck BC (Comp A+ B) by brush, roller or squeegee.
Preferred application is by using a squeegee and then back rolling crosswise.

Application of Basecoat Polydeck BC

Mixing of Polydeck BC:

Pack components are pre-weighed for optimum performance. Never split packs.
Empty contents of Base into a mixing container and pre-mix to assure the suspension
of solids. Add Curing Agent and continue to mix to a uniform consistency for 1-2
minutes. Add the quantity of aggregates supplied and mix for 1-2 minutes.
Mix with slow speed drill and helical spinner head for 2 minutes. Avoid high speed
mixing that will entrain air into the mix.

Application of Polydeck BC:

Pour the mixed material on the primed surface and spread it to required thickness,
using a serrated trowel. Polydeck BC is applied using notch trowels / Flat trowel. After
the application surface is levelled using Flat trowel / Spike roller and finished smooth
Sand Broadcasting

After the application of base coat of Polydeck BC, Sand of size 0.4 to 0.7mm is
broadcast at 2 Kg / Sqm and after drying of the sand broadcasted base coat, excess
sand is removed using a vacuum cleaner and cleaned. Later second coat is applied as a
seal coat on the broadcasted surface

Application of Seal coat Polydeck SF

Mixing of Polydeck SF:

Prior to mixing, stir part A mechanically. When all of part B has been added to part A, mix
continuously for 2 minutes until a uniform mix has been achieved. To ensure thorough
Construction
mixing pour materials into another container and mix again to achieve a consistent mix.
Over mixing must be avoided to minimize air entrainment. Polydeck SF must be
thoroughly mixed using a low speed stirrer (300 - 400 rpm) or other suitable equipment.

Application of Polydeck SF:

Polydeck SF as coating, can be applied by short-piled roller (crosswise). If two coats are
applied the second coat is applied after the first coat has completely dried. Coats can be
applied by squeegee and then back-rolled (crosswise) with a short-piled roller.
