I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the learners should be able to:
a. Identify and distinguish between different letter sounds.
b. Apply phonics, read, and simple words with fluency and accuracy.
c. Appreciate the importance of reading and it’s sounds.

Let us sing a song “The Alphabet”
c. Presentation/ Discussion
I have here a box of surprises. Do you want to see what’s inside? I want
someone to get it inside. So who wants to volunteer? So I want you all to
name the pictures.
(I have to ask the students what they see in the picture and what sound
they think the word begins with. Then I will explain that today's lesson
will focus on reading and learning phonics. So I have here my very own
(television IM’s). I will use the alphabet letters to teach reading and
phonics.)
For example, letter- Aa, sound- a , word- ant, sentence- The kitchen was
infested with ants.
d. Enrichment Activity/ Application
Music lesson- let us sing a song “The Phonics”
Again and again!
Give words that starts with the letters provided. 3 items each.
IV. Evaluation
Since we are done discussing the reading and phonics, I will give you
some of the letters in the alphabet and you will provide words that starts
with those letters and after that use it to make a sentence. I will give you
ten minutes to finish. And submit it to me when your finish.
V. Assignment
Give 5 examples of sentences in your English notebook and next meeting
you will read you answers in the front.
