    To honourable of Chief of Human Capital Division at Ministry of Foreign Affair

    I am writing this letter to express my strong interest in conducting a job carer in Economic Function
    in Ministry of Foreign Affair, Republic of Indonesia. My name is Vinny Dwi Melliny and I am from
    Indonesia. I am current master student majoring in economic development and policies at Kobe
    University’s Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (Expected Graduation in Sep
    2020). I am highly motivated, determined, well-organized, and result- oriented. I am also team player
    who performs well under pressure. I have confidence in my ability to deliver high quality work and to
    meet your expectations for this offer based on my experience and qualifications as follows.

    At Kobe University, I have equipped with academic knowledge and research skill in development
    studies. Under the supervision of Prof. Nobuaki Hamaguchi as President in Research Institute for
    Economics and Business Administration (RIEB) at Kobe University, I have taken various graduate
    courses related economics field including Microeconomic, Macroeconomic, Econometrics Analysis ,
    Social – Economic Theory, Statistical Methods, Social Survey Method, and Economic Development
    Studies. I have also taken intensive courses taught by experts who have worked for international
    organizations, including Prof. Nicholas Burnet ( former Director General at the UNESCO
    Headquarters, and current Chair of the UNESCO IIEP Governing Board), Keiichi Ogawa (Economist
    Specialist at The World Bank), Prof. Shojo Mari (Senior Education Specialist at The World Bank),
    Prof. Duncal Snidal (Senior Professor at Oxford University), and even I am under guidance Prof
    Hamaguchi who was Researcher at Institute of Developing Economic, Japan External Trade
    Organizayio (IDE-JETRO). So far, I have built a solid foundation based on education, economics, and
    research knowledge at Kobe University.

    According my main interested in Economic field, I joined in Overseas Indonesia Students’


    Association Alliance (PPI Dunia) as Economic Commission. With my friends, We created some
    books project to share knowledge and encourage some people to innovative such as Buku Saku
    UMKM ( 17 hal yang sering ditanyakan pengusaha UMKM Muda) and PPI Brief Series : Tantangan
    dan Prospek Ekonomi Syariah di Indonesia.

    In additional, I have rich teaching experience in diverse areas and countries, Which I can draw on help
    me with various task in Minister of foreign affair. Prior to my graduate journey, I worked as a teacher
    at both formal and non-formal education capacities in my country. I taught students in University of
    Muhammadiyah in formal area and children in Save Street Children Community in non- formal area.
    Realizing the issue around my environment, I have super intention to built proper situation for poor
    family with realizing them how important education is. According quote by Nelson Mandela
    “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” In my
    understanding, Education is the key to eliminating gender inequality, to reducing poverty, to creating
    a sustainable planet, to preventing needless deaths and illness, and to fostering peace and Its
    foundation surely must be built earliest age from child. I hope education can bring them out from
    circle of poverty

    Beside that, I put much interest in gender inequality. Indonesia ranked 104 out of 160 countries on the
    United Nations Development Programme’s 2017 gender inequality index, which measures gender
    disparities in education, reproductive health and economic and political participation. While gender
    gaps in childhood are closing, gender gaps in adulthood are persisting. I hope to get knowledge to
    know some initiatives to improve participatory woman's development My mind goes to some
    actions such as particularly those locked out of public life or unaccustomed to participating in village-
    level decision-making forums then slowly grow in skill and number to collectively influence how
    priorities are set and how money is spent. This is increasingly important now that around 10 per cent
    of Indonesia’s national budget is transferred directly into village coffers, following the ratification of
    the 2014 Villages Law.

    Based on my aforementioned academic and practical experiences, I have acquired and coupled with
    my passion for international development work, which lay a foundation for my future career trajectory
    in this field. I am confident that I will be able to effectively contribute to your team and successfully
    complete all assignments on time, with accuracy, high quality, and thoroughness.
