    Many animals, such as birds and
    sheep, have their babies in spring
    ! It is also the time of the year wh
    flowers grow and the leaves on the en
    trees come back. That is why
    some people celebrate Easter: the
    y are happy that life will start aga
    after winter. in
    For Christian and Jewish people,
    Easter is a religious day.
    Christians celebrate that Jesus cam
    e to life again after he died.
    Jewish people call Easter Passov
    er.
    Eggs are important at Easter. Ma
    ny children play the Easter egg
    hunt game. The Easter rabbit hides
    some eggs in the house and the
    garden. On Easter morning the chi
    ldren look for the eggs.
    Children also paint Easter eggs in
    lovely colours. They give the egg
    away as presents or play egg-rollin s
    g competitions. The Easter egg roll
    is fun! Who can roll an egg down
    a hill without breaking it?
