NERVOUS SYSTEM

This is the nervous system,

its acts as the leader of the other
systems. It is the communication
network and the control center of the
body.
There are two major
divisions and parts of the nervous
system: the central nervous system
and the peripheral nervous system.

CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

The central nervous system is
composed of the brain and spinal
cord. It is the receiver of all
information or inputs that came from the
environment or outside the body. After
receiving this information, it sorts them and
decides what to do about them.

BRAIN
It serves as the body's control center. It
is located inside the skull. The brain has
three main parts: the cerebrum, cerebellum and
brainstem.

CEREBRUM
It is the largest part of the brain. It is
composed of left and right hemispheres.
It performs higher functions like interpreting touch,
vision and hearing, as well as speech, reasoning,
emotions , learning, and fine control movement.

CEREBELLUM
It is the portion of the brain in the back
of the head between the cerebrum and
the brain stem. It is located under the
cerebrum. Its function is to coordinate muscle
movements, maintain posture, and balance.

BRAIN STEM
This part of the brain acts as a relay
center connecting the cerebrum and
cerebellum to the spinal cord. It
performs many automatic functions such as
breathing, heart rate, body temperature, wake and
sleep cycles, digestion, sneezing, coughing,
vomiting, and swallowing.
