Read the article answer the ff. question:

1. What does the term degassed mean?

- When we are talking about the term degassed, it is being free of gas. The earth in it’s early days was a
very different planet back then, it had a lot of internal gas, and only got to release that due to meteor
impacts and the limestone precipitation with the Archean the earth had back then.

2. How do you call the first life on Earth?

- I used to call it ancient lifeforms, but know I know they coin the term Archaic, or from way back then.

3. Which compound is rich on Earth during early the days?

- Earth was no different than Venus back then the atmosphere was abundant with CO2

4. What is the role of limestone in the CO2 cycle?

- Due to its precipitate Limestone which also has the carbon component was made these stones and
explains why many of animals today use carbon based secretions or shells.

5. How does the carbon dioxide cycle in the biosphere?

- We could tell that a cycle has no definite start but we could first describe the things that help cycle
CO2 out, which is photosynthesis and along that are ways to release CO2, which are respiration,
combustion and decomposition. Combustion is from burning fossil fuels, Respiration is the breathing of
living things (mostly animals and humans) and decomposition from the decay of living organic matter.
Evaporation – process of releasing evaporated water (Water Vapour) up into the air

Transpiration – The in-between process of water evaporation from living things

Condensation – The water vapour rises because it is warm, and gets condensed and compresses

Precipitation – Water vapour from the condensation becomes heavier, with the help of small solid
particles from the sky the water vapour becomes droplets and falls back to the ground

Run-off – The Water that hits the high peaks or high elevation run down to a collection of water

Subsurface Overflow – Due to infiltration of water through the cracks of the Earth water gets collected
until bedrock level and overflows back to the bodies of water (likely the ocean)
