e. Classroom rules
Alright, so before we proceed to our
lesson proper, we have 5 classroom
rules that you need to follow in our
class.
1. Respect yourselves and to
others. (The students are listening)
2. Raise your right hand if you
want to say something.
3. Don’t make noise.
4. Listen attentively.
5. Don’t share your wrong
answers.
Understand? Yes, Teacher.

f. Review
So let us now review our previous
lesson. What was our topic yesterday?
Yes, Francelle.
It was about visualizing division by
2,3,4,5 and 10 teacher.
Very good!
Now, class in order for you to visualize
the division can you give me an
equation of division?
Yes Mary?
Very good! 10 ÷ 2 teacher
10 ÷ 2 In this equation can you point
where is the dividend, divisor and the
quotient? The students do as told

Fabulous!
Now, who want to answer an example
number 1?
Ex. 1. 15÷3=?
Yes Devey. The student stands and answer at
the board by 5.
Very good!
How about an example number 2?
Ex. 2. 20÷10=?
Yes, Arkin. The student stands and answer at
Precisely! the board by 2.

How about an example number 3.

Ex. 3. 25÷5=? The student stands and answer at
Yes Jade. the board by 5.
Good job everyone!
Since, you already know what is our
previous lesson. Now, lets go forward
to another activity that I prepared for
you.
b. Establishing a B. Lesson Proper
purpose for the a. Drill
lesson Now class, I will Flash subtraction cards.
(Let the class answer them first. Then
call the pupils one-by-one randomly to
answer the subtraction on the cards
mentally.
1. 40-8 =
2. 30-5 =
3. 20-10 = The students do as told
4. 16-6 =
5. 8 -8 =

b. Motivation
Class, I have here an image of a pizza’s,
apples and oranges.
If I will divide this pizza into 4 students
how many pizza’s does each get?
Yes Ramjan? 1 teacher
Very good!

If I will divide this 6 apples into 3

students how many apples does each
get?
Yes Liancey?
Very good! 2 teacher

Magneficient!

If I will divide this 8 oranges into 2

students how many apples does each
get?
Yes Margie? 4 teacher
Very good!
c. Presenting c. Presentation
examples/Instances Now, based on the pictures that you
of new lesson have seen what is our topic for today?
Yes, Princess. Our topic for today is about division.

Precisely!

Our topic for today is all about divides

mentally number by 2,3,4,5 and 10
using appropriate strategies
(multiplication table of 2,3,4,5 and 10) A. Recognize the different strategies
Here are the objectives. to divide numbers mentally by
2,3,4,5 and 10;
B. Appreciate the importance of
division in real-life situations; and
C. Solve mentally and divide
numbers by 2,3,4,5 and 10 using
different strategies (Multiplication
table of 2,3,4,5, and 10).
d. Discussing new d.Discussion
concepts and So let’s start. In finding the quotient,
practicing new skills we can use multiplication facts.
#1
3 Appropriate Strategies

1.Repeated Subtraction
Ex. 20 ÷ 5=______

20-5=15 Pupils will follow the way how

15-5=10 teacher solve the problem.
10-5=5
5-5=0

Subtract the dividend using the divisor

until the answer is zero. Count how
many times you subtracted to find the
answer.

2.Multiplication table
Ex. 20 ÷ 5=______
Another strategy is if you memorize a
multiplication table from 1 to 10.
5×1=5 Pupils will follow the way how
5×2=10 teacher solve the problem.
5×3=15
5×4=20

Think of a number that when multiplied

by 5, the answer is 20.

3. Skip counting
Ex. 10 ÷ 2=______

Pupils will follow the way how

teacher solve the problem.

Skip count by 2 until you reach 10.

Okay class did you understand the

lesson for today? Yes, teacher.
e. Discussing new Activity 1
concepts and (The teacher will group the students
practicing new skills into 2 groups)
#2 So now, let us play “ Cabbage roll”
inside the cabbage roll there are
questions that you need to
answer. Each group will be given a
cabbage. I will play music and all you
need to do is to pass the cabbage to
your group-mates. If I will stop the
music the one who is holding the
cabbage will be the one to peel. And
the groups that has more correct
answers will be the winner.
Am I clear class? Yes, teacher.

1. Mary has ten lollipops, If she will give

her lollipops to her classmates by 2s. Answers:
How many classmates does received? 1. 5
2. Five students wants to eat hotcakes 2. 2
for snacks. If there are ten hotcakes in 3. 8
the canteen, how many hotcakes does 4. 4
each students have? 5. 4
3. Three girls share 24 toys equally.
How many toys does each girl get?
4. Twelve penguins need to be put into
three pools. How many will go in each
pool?
5. There are 20 children in the class.
They need to be split into 5 groups.
How many children will there be in
each group?

Good job everyone!

F. Developing mastery Activity 2
(leads to formative By using repeated subtraction:
assessment) 1. Romeo has 6 pet goats. If the
number of goats is divided between 2 Answers:
shells, will each be be kept? 1. 3
6÷2=_____ 2. 3
6-2=4 (1) 3. 3
4-2=2 (2)
2-2=0 (3)
By using multiplication table:
1. Marian divided the 12 pieces of
yema among her 4 classmates. How
many are each?
12÷4=______
4×1=4
4×2=8
4×3=12

By using Skipping count:

Aling Cora bought 30 kg. Of pork. She
divided it into 3 boxes. How many kg.
Should be put in each box?

30÷3=_____

Good job everyone! Yes teacher.

G. Finding practical Activity 3 (Board activity)
application of concepts and Directions: Solve the following.
skills in daily life 1. 90 ÷10= Answers:
2. 50 ÷5= 1. 9
3. 45 ÷5= 2. 10
4. 28 ÷4= 3. 9
5. 15÷3= 4. 7
5. 5
Good job everyone!
Class did you understand the lesson for
today? Yes teacher.
H. Making generalization Do you have any questions or
and abstraction about the clarifications? None teacher.
lesson What are those 3 appropriate
strategies to divide mentally by 2,3,4,5
and 10?
Yes, Margie. 1.Repeated Subtraction
2.Multiplication table
3. Skip counting
Very good!

To do mental division, you may use

repeated subtraction. Subtract the
dividend by divisor many times until
you reach zero. But memorizing the
multiplication table will be of great help
in mental division.

Let us give ourselves five yahoo claps.

I. Evaluating Learning Evaluation:
Directions: Find the quotient. Answers:
1. 40 ÷5= 1. 8
2. 28÷4= 2. 7
3. 40÷10= 3. 4
4. 18÷2= 4. 9
5. 15÷3= 5. 3
J. Additional activities for Assignment:
application or remediation For scores 0-3
Answers the following questions
mentally. Answers:
1. 20÷5= 1. 4
2. 25÷5= 2. 5
3. 30÷6= 3. 5
4. 35÷5= 4. 7
5. 40÷8= 5. 5
For scores 4-5
1. What is the result if we divide 8 by 2? Answers:
2. The result of dividing 18 by 3 is? 1. 4
3. Divide 32 by 4. What is the result? 2. 6
4. What is the result if we divide 80 by 3. 8
