Position 

-    MITS Manager
Location -   San Mateo, CA (3 days onsite a week)
Duration – 12+ months contract
Client     -   County of San Mateo
 
Note: Need local to CA candidates only along with State or County healthcare experience**
 
Example of Duties:
 Practice asset management for hardware, software, and equipment.
 Lead, manage, coach, and support analysts (Temp/Consultants) on the team to meet or exceed
timelines with projects and support tasks: e.g., build, testing, updates, integration and
maintenance of system configuration, set-up, and application tables; determine user, system
and application needs and evaluate solutions to address needs; provide data analysis, report
development, and technical assistance to system users; and perform related duties as required.
 Direct, oversee and participate in the development and implementation of standard work for
staff; assign daily work, projects, and programs; measure, monitor, and report on the
effectiveness of the team and work products.
 Ensure compliance with policies and standards and implement corrective actions to assure high
quality and measurable performance.
 Ensure change management practices conform to organization-wide standards.
 Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications regarding information-
based decision-making with the organization executives, department heads, and end users.
 Effective relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders within the organization
Requirements:
 Information and Technology-Performance Improvement/Quality Improvement, Patient/Client
Centric Health Outcomes.
 Demonstrated ability to build collaborative business relationships with peers, customers, and
executive leadership.
 Experience working with government organizations.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Description/Scope of Work:
 We seek a well-qualified Manager to manage and lead a team of Health Information Technology
Analysts ( All consultants ) while serving as the central contact person for all our SMMC
customers at all levels needing help with our county applications. This manager will lead teams
that maintain applications in a mixed platform environment; manage, mentor, and coach staff;
prepare and provide regular status reports; identify and arrange for training; reassign or
reschedule work to meet the dynamic nature of a complex healthcare organization. The
Manager is also responsible for engaging critical clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to align HIT
resources to support the organization's goals, objectives, and strategy. Works closely with the
other HIT leaders and operational teams to identify changes required in the current workflow.
The manager will also translate these needs into functional solutions within the teams that
manage and support these efforts by tracking metrics/outcomes.
Education & Experiences:
 Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
 At least five years of experience managing healthcare information systems and technology
within the last ten years, preferably emphasizing hospital settings, Registration/Schedule, public
health, hospital, or health systems.
 At least three years of management experience, including supervision, training, coaching, and
mentoring health IT technical staff.
 At least five years of experience in the health IT field. Operations experience: including
application lifecycle portfolio management, Task/Project/Issue tracking, visualization/analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 Strong understanding of Health Applications Support.
 Information systems and technology frameworks, specifically those related to Healthcare
systems.
 Pertinent local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations, including healthcare IT standards.
 Organizational, administrative, and management principles and practices.
 Principles and practices of business systems analysis.
 Principles and practices of public administration, personnel management, and project
management.
